2 Nombre y apellido Fecha la geografia de Guatemala limites Guatemala es un país de Centroamérica. Al norte, Guatemala limita (borders) con México, al este limita con Belice y con El Mar Caribe, y al sur limita con Honduras y El Salvador. Al oeste, limita con el Océano Pacífico. Los habitantes de México, Honduras y El Salvador hablan español, pero los habitantes de Belice hablan inglés. Guatemala no es un país grande; es un poco más pequeño que el estado de Tennessee. regiones Hay muchas montañas en Guatemala. Es un país montañoso. Hay dos cadenas (ranges) de montañas que cruzan el país desde el oeste al este. Estas cordilleras dividen el país en tres regiones geográficas: La costa pacífica, que es la región al sur de las montañas, La región Petén, que está al norte de las montañas, y Las tierras altas, que es la región montañosa. rios y lagos Hay un lago muy grande en Guatemala que se llama El Lago de Izabal. El Río Lempa es el río más largo de Centroamérica. Ciudades La capital de Guatemala es La Ciudad de Guatemala. Las otras ciudades importantes del país se llaman Antigua, Quetzaltenango, Mazatenango, Coatepeque, y Escuintla. montanas La cadena de montañas más importante se llama La Sierra Madre. La Sierra Madre está inmediatemente al norte de la costa pacífica de Guatemala. Las montañas más altas de Guatemala están en La Sierra Madre, y también contiene muchos volcanes. El volcán Tajumulco es el punto más alto de Guatemala y de Centroamérica. Hay treinta y siete volcanes en Guatemala (todos están en la Sierra Madre), pero sólo cuatro son activos. Como hay muchos volcanes, también hay muchos terremotos.
