2 RETREATS AND EVENTS / RETIROS Y EVENTOS The beginning of a new liturgical year and the season of Advent remind me of Pope Francis s words: the season of Advent, which we begin again today, restores this horizon of hope, a hope which does not disappoint for it is founded on God s Word. A hope which does not disappoint, simply because the Lord never disappoints! He is faithful! He does not disappoint! Let us think about and feel this beauty. Today more than ever, we are all called to feel the faithful and loving presence of Jesus in our lives, knowing that no matter what situations we are experiencing every day, He never forsakes us. What a beautiful gift is to live the experience of love, which reborn each year in our hearts as a sign of hope! Advent, as a season of hope and spiritual preparation to celebrate the birth of the Savior, is also a waiting time of expectation. It is a time to live our faith in a new way, knowing that every day there is a new opportunity to go out to encounter Christ, the light of the world. Today, I would like to invite you to live this "Season of Hope" with the Holy Family, who, immigrants like us, were looking for a place where the Holy Child could born. Let s us imitate them and let s us find a place, a heart, and a family where Jesus could reborn to give them a new life. As we celebrate Christmas, let our lives, our families, and our Hispanic community in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia to become the manger, which sees the born of the Savior. Like Mary and Joseph, let's be a sign of hope and joy, knowing that God's love has born in our hearts and that it's the time to show it to the whole world. From the Office for Hispanic Catholics we wish you Peace, Health, and Love in this Season of Hope. By Kathia Arango El inicio de un nuevo año litúrgico y del tiempo de Adviento me recuerdan las palabras del papa Francisco: el tiempo de Adviento, que de nuevo comenzamos, nos devuelve el horizonte de la esperanza, una esperanza que no decepciona porque está fundada en la Palabra de Dios. Una esperanza que no decepciona sencillamente porque el Señor no decepciona jamás! Él es fiel, Él no decepciona. Pensemos y sintamos esta belleza!. Hoy más que nunca, todos nosotros estamos llamados a sentir la presencia fiel y amorosa de Jesús en nuestras vidas, sabiendo que sin importar las situaciones por las cuales atravesamos diariamente, Él no nos abandona jamás. Qué hermoso regalo es poder vivir esa experiencia de amor que cada año renace en nuestros corazones como signo de esperanza! Adviento como tiempo de esperanza y de preparación espiritual para recordar el nacimiento del Salvador, es también un tiempo de espera expectante. Un tiempo de vivir nuestra fe de forma nueva, sabiendo que cada día tenemos una nueva oportunidad de salir al encuentro de Cristo, la luz del mundo. Que emoción y esperanza brinda ese encuentro tan anhelado, el cual puede cambiar nuestras vidas de forma definitiva. Hoy quiero invitarlos a vivir este tiempo de esperanza con la mirada puesta en la Sagrada Familia, quienes inmigrantes al igual que nosotros, fueron buscando un lugar donde el Niño Dios pudiera nacer. Al igual que ellos, busquemos un lugar, un corazón, una familia donde Jesús pueda renacer para darles una nueva vida. Al celebrar la Navidad hagamos que nuestras vidas, nuestras familias, nuestra comunidad Hispana de la Arquidiócesis de Filadelfia se conviertan en el pesebre que vea al Salvador nacer. Como María y José, seamos signo de esperanza y alegría, sabiendo que el amor de Dios ha nacido en nuestros corazones y es el momento de mostrarlo al mundo al entero. Desde la Oficina para Católicos Hispanos les deseamos a todos Paz, Salud y Amor en este Tiempo de Esperanza. Por Kathia Arango

Our deep GRATITUDE to Rev. Rafael Vargas for his dedication on the preparation of this Ministry. A special celebration will take place at Our Lady of Consolation on December 9, 6:30 PM.
