8 OPTIONA EQUIPMENT CONNECTIONS Optional Eqipment Connections VC Connection VCs, video disc players, video game eqipment, and DSS eqipment can also be connected to the video inpts. See the optional eqipment manal for more information. Note: VC Inpt 1 is a dal-prpose inpt. It is primarily intended for connection with 480i devices sch as a DVD player sing the YP B P component video jacks and Adio & jacks. However, it can also be connected to conventional composite video sorces sch as a VC, sing only the Y/Video jack and Adio & jacks. The on-screen label will display Component or Video 1 depending on which sorce is connected. Notes: When a component inpt video signal is connected to Video 1 (Y, P B,P ) terminals, and the TV main pictre is Component, the Program otpt video will be lminance signal (no color). When S-Video inpt signal is sed for TV main pictre, the Program otpt video signal will be lminance signal (no color). 14 EMOTE CONTO OPEATION Programming The emote The Universal emote Control can be programmed to operate many manfactrers components, sing the component fnction bttons for VC, DVD, CABE or DBS. Follow the procedres for programming yor emote Control with or withot a code for the component. Defalt Modes For emote Control Device Operates Defalt TV TV (Panasonic Only) Panasonic TV Codes VC VC (Preset) Panasonic VC Codes DBS DBS (Preset) Panasonic DBS Codes CABE CABE (Preset) Panasonic DBS Codes DVD DVD, CD (Preset) Panasonic DVD Codes Determine the manfactrer of the component and look in the table for the code. Programming With a Code Procedre Confirm that the external component is plgged in and operating. Trn the component off. ACTION Press and POWE together, for at least 5 seconds. Press appropriate component btton on the emote Control VC, DVD, CABE or DBS. Enter the 3-digit component code sing the emote Control nmeric keypad (0 ~ 9 bttons). Press the emote Control POWE to test the component. If the procedre was sccessfl, the component will trn on. Programming Withot A Code Helpfl Hints: Unsccessfl Code If the component does not operate with the emote Control, repeat the procedre sing another code. (Some brands have mltiple codes). If an incorrect code is entered, or if the procedre takes longer than 30 seconds, the programming will fail. This procedre searches all codes and is called the seqence method. Confirm that the external component is plgged in and on. Trn the component off. ACTION Press and POWE together, for at least 5 seconds. Press appropriate component btton on the emote Control. Press VO to move forward to the next code. Press VO to move backward. Press the emote Control POWE to test the component. If the procedre was sccessfl, the component will trn on. Note: epeat the above steps ntil the component code is fond. It may take many attempts before the correct code is fond. ACTION After the code is fond, press to store the code. 12

15 Component Codes EMOTE CONTO OPEATION The Universal emote Control is capable of operating many component brands after entering a code. Some components may not operate becase the codes are not available de to limited memory. The Universal emote Control does not control all featres fond in each model. Write the code nmbers from tables in this space. This will serve as a reference if yo need to program yor emote Control.
