Remind students to go back to the text to support their ideas. Phonics/Word Work Provide practice as needed with words and word parts, using examples from the text. Remind students that adjective suffi xes describe what something is like in terms of number or volume. The suffi x -iva on the word intenso, intensiva (p. 9), means doing something in a strengthened or increased way. Other examples include agresivo (agresión), activo (actuar). 3

Use the instruction below as needed to reinforce or extend understanding of the comprehension skill.
