Ej. My mom made a cake yesterday. I checked my last night. Subject + verb in simple past+ * Complement+ **Time Expression
Su auxiliar (recuerda que cuando utilizamos uno, el verbo va en la forma simple; excepción de los tiempos perfectos) es la palabra DID y se usa para todos los sujetos: recuerda es para preguntas y negaciones. My friends didn t come to the party yesterday DIDN T = DID NOT Subject + didn t (did not) + verb Simple form + * Complement+ **Time Expression Yes-No Questions Al igual que en el presente simple, las preguntas iniciaran con el auxiliar, en este caso DID. Did you go to the party last night? Yes, I did. No, I didn t. Did + Subject + verb Simple form + * Complement+ **Time Expression +? Information Questions Where did you go yesterday? Question Word + Did + Subject + verb Simple form+ * Complement + **Time Expression? *It s included only if applicable and it must never be the answer of the question word **It s very common to include it on the ideas. Ej. I ll take you home after the party ll = will Subject + WILL+ verb Simple form + * Complement+ **Time Expression
En este caso la forma completa será will not y en el caso que se use la contracción será WON T. I won t go to the party Subject + won t (will not) + verb Simple form + * Complement+ **Time Expression Yes-No questions Como se puede dar cuenta se siguen utilizando auxiliares y las reglas de las preguntas serán las mismas. En este caso, la pregunta se inicia con el auxiliar o modal. Ej. Will you work tonight? Yes, I will. No, I won t. WILL + Subject + verb Simple form + * Complement+ **Time Expression +? Information Questions What will you do tomorrow? Question Word + WILL + Subject + verb Simple form+ * Complement + **Time Expression? *It s included only if applicable and it must never be the answer of the question word **It s very common to include if you want to emphasize the time things will happen. However, it can also be omitted according to context Time Expressions Tomorrow Tonight Next week/month/class/etc. After tomorrow/class/etc. Revise la información previa y vera la similitud en la estructura de los tiempos. Para ejemplificar, revisemos la siguiente tabla:
Tiempo Afirmación Negación Yes-no questions Information questions Presente Simple I work on weekends My sister studies at IPN I don t work on weekends My sister doesn t study at IPN Do you work on weekends? Does your sister study at IPN? What do you do on weekends? Where does your sister study? Pasado Simple I worked Yesterday My sister studied at IPN I didn t work last weekend My sister didn t study at IPN Did you work last weekend? Did your sister study at IPN? What did you do last weekend? Where did your sister study? Futuro Simple I ll work tomorrow My sister will study at IPN I won t work tomorrow My sister won t study at IPN. Will you work tomorrow? Will your sister study at IPN? What will you do tomorrow? Where will your sister study? Verb be in future (Futuro del Verbo Be) Como ya sabemos expresar ideas en futuro, además de conocer la estructura para formular ideas, podemos ahora saber cómo expresar ideas en futuro, cuando se requiere hablar de: Simplemente seguiremos las reglas del futuro con will, las cuales son Will+verb simple form En este caso, entonces como el verbo que estaremos usando es el verbo be, y su forma simple es BE. En conclusión tendremos Will+verb simple form + Veamos las estructuras y los ejemplos
Affirmative Ideas I will get home tomorrow morning Subject + Will + verb Be + It won t be a good day tomorrow Subject + Won t + verb Be+ Yes-No questions Will you be with us for Christmas? Will + Subject + verb Be + Information questions Where will you be tomorrow morning? Question Word+ Will + Subject + verb Be + *Complement? *It s usually anything different from the categories used. This, because must of the time, the question word pretends to find the info related to the proper category.
