1 Program Description 1 st Advantage Tutoring is the right choice to help your child improve their skills in reading and math. Students gain over a year (1.2) grade level in reading and they gain over a year and a half (1.5) grade level in math when they complete the allotted tutoring program. Why does 1 st Advantage work so well? Your child receives high-quality, individualized instruction from degreed and experienced teachers that know the Colorado State Standards. Tutoring is structured for your child s needs and based on the components of reading and math that research says work. All tutors go through training on these proven strategies so they have the ability and knowledge to help your child. Your child receives tutoring in small groups of 3-5 students. Students receive a minimum of 2 hours of tutoring each week, over a 3-month period. Communication is important, so the school, the parents, and tutors work together. 3 Program Description At Academic Coaching Institute, we offer one-on-one or small-group tutoring in both Reading and Mathematics. Based on an initial assessment of the student s Reading/Vocabulary, Reading/Comprehension and Mathematics skills, we discuss with the families what areas need the most attention and develop an individual curriculum based on these assessment results. Not all children will be tutored in both subjects; with the parents permission and as directed by the school district, we may tutor exclusively in Reading or exclusively in Mathematics if one subject needs more attention that the other does. As shown in our post-assessments, after completing our program of twice weekly, one-hour sessions a student will gain approximately one grade level. Like anything that inspires your children and hopes for great results, your commitment to the program, as a family, is very important. 4 Descripción del Programa Academic Coaching Institute (El instituto de entrenamiento académica) ofrece tutoría uno-a-uno o en grupos pequeños en en matemáticas y la lectura o apenas en uno de los sujetos.. Después de una evaluación, un plan de aprendizaje individualizado, utillizando una programa de estudios probado, será desarrollada para cada estudiante. Si su estudiante solamente necesita la ayuda en matemáticas, la sesión entera estará pasada en matemáticas. Si su estudiante necesita ambos temas, el tutor trabajará con su estudiante en ambos temas. Si necesita ayuda con la lectura, el tutor apenas se centrará en la lectura para las sesiones. Cuando su estudiante atiende a cada sesión y termina el programa, él/ella ganará un nivel del grado de un año. Por ejemplo, si la primera prueba de su estudiante demuestra un nivel del grado de 3.5 en matemáticas, la segunda prueba, para la mayoría de los estudiantes, demostraría un nivel del grado de 4.5 en matemáticas. Su estudiante recibirá un mínimo de 2 horas de ayuda cada semana. Como todo lo que inspira a sus hijos a lograr grandes resultados, su compromiso con el programa, como una familia, es muy importante. Our desire is to groom the character and learning abilities of our students in order to help them meet and conquer the challenges of their educational career. 7 Program Description EDUSS Learning Provides software incorporating Mathematics, English/ Language Arts and Phonics to Reading programs on a free laptop that the students are allowed to keep once they have completed 20 hours of tutoring. Students weaknesses and skill gaps are individually pinpointed with our 3 dimesional Evaluation Engine. With our research-based system, students can be challenged in an exciting way that results in improved performance.
