Pedro Almodóvar, España COURSE DESCRIPTION/OBJECTIVES: Spanish 202 is a four credit hour intermediate course designed for students who have had the equivalent of three semesters of college Spanish. Intermediate Spanish courses aim at helping students to develop their listening, reading, speaking and writing skills, as well as their knowledge of grammar and culture. Plenty of motivation, participation, reading and lab work is required. Love of the language is a plus. Note: Instruction will be given in Spanish and students are expected to communicate in Spanish at all times. STUDENT EVALUATION: 1. Exam: 15% (Final Exam: 13 de mayo 10:10-12:10 PM) Two hour cummulative final. The date and time of the final exam cannot be changed. Please make your plans accordingly. 2. Four quizzez 35% There are no make-ups.whatever grade you make on the final exam will be substituted for the missing quiz grade(s).

Compositions 35% Five compositions about the movies. (1-2 pages). Typed, double spaced. 4.Class Participation and Preparation: 15% Participation is based on in-class work by the student. Attendance is a given; mere presence in class does not guarantee a good participation grade. A satisfactory participation and preparation grade assumes that you come to class each day prepared to be actively engaged in all class activities. You have the responsibility of reading over a new grammar point or learning new vocabulary on your own before we go over it in class so that class time can be used to answer questions and practice but not to reiterate what is explained in the book. These are written and listening exercises in the Workbook that correspond to each chapter. You are responsible for doing the appropiate exercises as we go along. * There is a maximum of four unexplained absences (use them wisely). Any additional absence will lower your grade by 2%. ***** There is no extra credit project.
