2 KIC InnoEnergy Iberia Award 2014 for the best sustainable energy business plan in Spain The vision of KIC InnoEnergy is to lead change in the European sustainable energy market. With the aim of promoting clean tech business plans in Spain, KIC InnoEnergy Iberia is organising its first award for the best sustainable energy business plan. We have 8 technology areas, to which the plans presented must be related: - Clean coal technologies - Energy from chemicals fuels - Renewable energy - Smart electric grid - Electricity storage - Smart and efficient building and cities - Sustainable nuclear and renewable convergence - Energy efficiency The KIC InnoEnergy Award will be subject to the following rules of participation to select the plans: 1. Objectives: With this award, KIC InnoEnergy seeks to achieve the following objectives: - To discover more plans related to the renewable energy sector which may be in line with KIC InnoEnergy s mission. - To promote business spirit and technological innovation in the sustainable energy field, with a view to contributing to the social and economic development of Spain. - To help pioneer technologies in the sustainable energy sector to reach the market. - To raise awareness about the activities held by the Business Creation Department of KIC InnoEnergy Iberia. 2. Requirements to send candidatures: Participation in this selection process involves fully meeting and accepting these rules. To be a candidate for the KIC InnoEnergy Iberia Award the following requirements must be met: - Have a defined business plan. - Have a defined market in one of the 8 subject fields mentioned above. - Have a full business team, with at least one person working fulltime. - Have technology ready to be launched onto the market in less than 2 years.

3 To apply and complete the inscription process for the award the following information must be sent: 1. Send the Business Plan to the address: The content of the Business Plan will be as follows: Maximum 10 pages. - Project information - Solution - Market - Business model - Marketing and sales plan 2. A template can be found on the KIC InnoEnergy Iberia Award portal: The candidatures can be presented in Spanish or English. 3. Organisation of the KIC InnoEnergy Iberia Award The period to present the corresponding candidatures will close on 1 st December The organisation reserves the right to extend this period, communicating this change at the appropriate time via the planned communication channels, and on the KIC InnoEnergy website. All individuals of legal age can participate, without any limitations as regards nationality. The KIC InnoEnergy team will select 5 to 10 Business Plans pitch to be presented to a formal jury. The participants of the finalist Plans will be informed before 9 th December via . Participants must give a minute-long formal presentation during the award ceremony event. The jury will decide which Plan will win the award on that same day. The KIC InnoEnergy Award will be held on 16 th December KIC InnoEnergy reserves the right to change any of the dates of the award, providing prior notice to all participants and publishing the details on the website.

The evaluation committee and the jury: The evaluation committee and the jury will be made up of the following members of KIC InnoEnergy Iberia: - CEO - Business Creation Officer - Business Creation Manager Portugal - Business Creation Managers (2) - External experts (2) The jury will decide the winner of the 2014 award. This jury reserves the right to decide to not give the award if the Business Plans presented are not as innovative as expected or do not meet the requirements of these rules of participation. 6. Award: The award will be presented to the Business Plan with the most potential to enter the market and with a higher success ratio in the sustainable energy sector. The KIC InnoEnergy jury will give a score to each of the finalists, in accordance with the evaluation criteria. These scores will be sent to the participants individually. The Business Plan with most points according to the evaluation criteria will win the award. Winner: 10,000 euros + 3 months office space + 6 mentoring sessions + media coverage as winner of the award. KIC InnoEnergy will provide the winner with 3 months of office space in our offices in ESADE Creapolis as well as 6 mentoring sessions from ESADE mentors. The

5 mentors will be decided by KIC InnoEnergy and the sessions will be 1:30 h long. The main aim of these sessions is to help entrepreneurs to define a commercial strategy to boost their business in the sustainable energy market. The final award from KIC InnoEnergy is valued at 15,000 Euros. The Business Plan will have an opportunity to pass the selection process to form part of the KIC InnoEnergy acceleration program. Between 50,000 and 100,000 Euros are invested in the Plan as part of this program. 7. Confidentiality KIC InnoEnergy guarantees the confidentiality of the list of candidates who present their candidature. The selected participants authorise KIC InnoEnergy, without the right to any consideration, to publish the list of finalists for the award, with a brief description of the Business Plan and the names and surnames of the team members. KIC InnoEnergy will provide internal and external coverage of the winner of the award. The winner therefore agrees that their Business Plan, their personal information and the name of the Business Plan be disseminated. 8. Guarantees By presenting their candidatures the participants guarantee KIC InnoEnergy that the Business Plans presented are original works of their authors and/or that they have the right to freely dispose of the ideas, images or any other elements included in their presentation. The participants will be the only party held responsible for a possible infringement of third party rights, with KIC InnoEnergy remaining exempt of any responsibility in this regard.

7 KIC InnoEnergy Iberia Premio 2014 al mejor proyecto en energía sostenible de España La visión KIC InnoEnergy es liderar el cambio en el mercado europeo de las energías sostenibles. Con el objetivo de promocionar los proyectos emprendedores clean tech en España, KIC InnoEnergy Iberia organiza su primer premio al mejor proyecto de energía sostenible. Tenemos 8 áreas tecnológicas, de las cuales los proyectos presentados deben estar relacionados: - Clean coal technologies - Energy from chemicals fuels - Renewable energy - Smart electric grid - Electricity storage - Smart and efficient building and cities - Sustainable nuclear and renewable convergence - Energy efficiency El premio de KIC InnoEnergy se regirá por las siguientes bases de participación para la selección de proyectos: 1. Objetivos: KIC InnoEnergy Iberia con la organización de este premio quiere conseguir los siguientes objetivos: - Conocer más proyectos relacionados con el sector de las energías renovables que pueden estar acorde con la visión de KIC InnoEnergy - Promocionar el espirito emprendedor y la innovación tecnológica en el campo de la energía sostenible para contribuir al desarrollo social y económico de España. - Conseguir que las tecnologías pioneras en el sector de las energías sostenibles lleguen al mercado - Dar a conocer las actividades del Departamento de Business Creation de KIC InnoEnergy Iberia

8 2. Requisitos para enviar las candidaturas: La participación de este proceso de selección supone el cumplimiento y la aceptación íntegra de estas bases. Para poder presentarse al premio KIC InnoEnergy Iberia es necesario cumplir con los siguientes requisitos: - Tener un business plan definido - Tener un mercado definido dentro de nuestras 8 áreas temáticas mencionadas anteriormente - Tener un equipo emprendedor completo, con al menos una persona trabajando a horario completo - Tener la tecnología lista para lanzar al mercado en menos de 2 años Para presentarse y completar el proceso de inscripción al premio es necesario enviar la siguiente información: 1. Enviar el Business plan a la dirección de bcs.iberia@kic-innoenergy.com. El contenido de Business Plan será el siguiente: Máximo 10 páginas - Datos personales - Solución - Análisis de mercado - Definición del modelo de negocio - Plan de ventas y marketing - Equipo de trabajo 2. En el portal de KIC InnoEnergy Iberia Award: Award se podrá encontrar una plantilla para rellenar la información. Los idiomas de presentación de las candidaturas podrán ser en español o en inglés. 3. Organización del premio KIC InnoEnergy Iberia El plazo para presentar las correspondientes candidaturas terminará el 1ero de diciembre La organización se reserva el derecho de prorrogar este plazo comunicándolo oportunamente a través de los canales de comunicación previstos y en cualquier caso en la web de KIC InnoEnergy. Podrán participar todas aquellas personas físicas mayores de edad sin limitaciones en cuanto a la nacionalidad y/o cualquier persona jurídica constituida en España. El equipo de KIC InnoEnergy seleccionará de entre 5 a 10 proyectos para que presenten en un jurado formal. Los proyectos finalistas serán comunicados antes del 9 de diciembre vía a los participantes. Los participantes deberán realizar una presentación formal de minutos durante el evento de la entrega de premios. El jurado decidirá que proyecto es el ganador del premio ese mismo día. El premio de KIC InnoEnergy se entregará el 16 de diciembre KIC InnoEnergy se reserva el derecho a modificar cualquiera de las fechas del premio con previo aviso a todos los participantes y con una publicación en la web.

El comité de evaluación y el jurado: El comité de evaluación y jurado estará formado por los siguientes miembros de KIC InnoEnergy Iberia: - CEO - Business Creation Officer - Business Creation Manager Portugal - Business Creation Managers (2) - External experts (2) El jurado decidirá el ganador del premio Este jurado se reserva el derecho a decidir no dar el premio en el caso de que los proyectos presentados no sean tan innovadores como esperados o no cumplan con los requisitos de estas bases de participación.

10 6. Premio: El premio será entregado al proyecto con más potencial de entrar en el mercado y el que tenga un ratio de éxito más elevado en el sector de las energías sostenibles. El jurado de KIC InnoEnergy dará una puntuación a cada uno de los finalistas acorde con los criterios de evaluación. Estas puntuaciones serán enviadas a los participantes individualmente. El premio con más puntos según el criterio de evaluación será el ganador del premio. Ganador: euros + 3 meses de espacio de oficina + 6 sesiones de mentoring + comunicación como ganador del premio. KIC InnoEnergy ofrecerá 3 meses de oficina al ganador en nuestras instalaciones en ESADE Creapolis además de 6 sesiones de mentoring de nuestra red de mentores. Los mentores serán decididos por KIC InnoEnergy y las sesiones tendrán una duración de 1:30h. El objetivo principal de estas sesiones será apoyar a los emprendedores a definir una estrategia comercial para potenciar su negocio en el mercado de las energías sostenibles. El premio final de KIC InnoEnergy está valorado en euros. El proyecto emprendedor tendrá la posibilidad de pasar el proceso de selección para formar parte del programa de aceleración de KIC InnoEnergy. En este programa se invierte entre y euros en el proyecto. 7. Confidencialidad KIC InnoEnergy garantiza la confidencialidad de la lista de candidatos que se presenten su candidatura. Los participantes seleccionados autorizan a KIC InnoEnergy sin derecho a contraprestación alguna a publicar la lista de finalistas al premio, con un a breve descripción de los proyectos y los nombres y apellidos de los componentes del equipo. KIC InnoEnergy hará difusión interna y externa del ganador del premio, el ganador autoriza por tanto, hacer difusión de su proyecto, sus datos personales y nombre del proyecto. 8. Garantías Al presentar sus candidaturas los participantes garantizan a KIC InnoEnergy que los proyectos presentados son originales de sus autores y/o que tienen la libre disposición de cuantas ideas, imágenes o cualquier otro elemento incorporen en su presentación. Los participantes serán los únicos responsables por una eventual infracción a terceros, quedando KIC InnoEnergy exenta de cualquier responsabilidad en este sentido.
