2 Requisitos de Admisión Maestría Poseer un Bachillerato de una universidad acreditada. Tener un índice académico mínimo de 2.50 en los últimos 60 créditos de trabajo académico. Aunque por lo general estos créditos serán en el nivel bachillerato, en el caso de un estudiante que posee otra maestría conferida por otra universidad acreditada, puede combinar los créditos en el nivel de maestría con los últimos créditos aprobados en el nivel de bachillerato hasta completar los 60 créditos estipulados. Presentar los resultados de una de las siguientes pruebas tomadas dentro de los últimos cinco años precedentes a la fecha de admisión solicitada, según requerida por el departamento concernido: a. Graduated Record Examination (GRE). b. Miller Analogy Test (MAT). c. Examen de Admisión para Estudios Posgrados (EXADEP). d. Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT). Demostrar por medio de un examen o de alguna otra forma que el Departamento o la División Académica estime apropiada, las habilidades de interpretar material profesional, tanto en español como en inglés, y de expresarse con propiedad en forma escrita en uno de los dos idiomas. Cumplir con los criterios de admisión establecidos por el departamento o programa graduado que solicita, previamente aprobados por el Vicepresidente de Asuntos Académicos y Planificación Sistemática. Academic Requirement Master Program Have a bachelor s degree from an accredited institution Have a grade point index of 2.50 or above in the last sixty credit hours of academic work ( at the undergraduated level or a combination of undergraduate and graduate credits in case the applicant already has a graduate degree from an accredited university). Present the results of one of the following tests taken within the five year period preceding the date of requested admission: a) Graduate Record Exam (GRE) b) Miller Analogy Test (MAT)W c) Examen de Admisión para Estudios Posgrados (EXADEP) d) Graduate Management Admisión Test (GMAT). Demonstrate, through an examination or other appropriate means as determined by the academic department or division, the ability to interpret professional material, both in Spanish and English, and the ability to express correctly in writing in one of these languages. Meet the admission criteria of the program to which the student is applying for admission. These criteria shall be established by the Department or Graduate Program and have prior approval of the Vice President for Academic Affair and Systemic Planning. Esta debe ser enviada por la Universidad donde realizó estudios previos, directamente al Centro de Estudios Graduados del Recinto, PO Box 5100, San Germán, PR cartas de recomendación, usando el formulario provisto, preferiblemente de sus patronos y profesores. Informe oficial de las puntuaciones obtenidas en las pruebas de admisión a programas graduados según requerida por el departamento concernido: Graduate Record Examination (GRE), Millar Analogies Test (MAT), Examen de Admisión para Estudios Posgrados (EXADEP) o Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT). Have it sent to the Graduate Studies Center, PO Box 5100, San Germán, PR Two (2) letters of recommendation provided from persons who know you, preferably your employer or professors. Official scores of Graduate Admissions Test, Graduate Record Examination (GRE), Millar Analogies Test (MAT), Examen de Admisión para Estudios Posgrados (EXADEP) or Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT). For more information call Educational Testing Service al Admission fee of ($31.00) US dollars in a Money Order or Certified Check made payable to Inter American University of Puerto Rico. This fee is nonrefundable. Do not send cash. Readmisión Estudiantes que estuvieron matriculados en programas de maestría en la UIPR y que no se hayan matriculado en los últimos trece meses y estudiantes de nivel doctoral que no se hayan matriculado por un semestre del año académico regular, deben solicitar readmisión. Toda solicitud de readmisión deberá recibirse por lo menos tres semanas antes del primer día de la matrícula del término académico en el cual los estudiantes desean reanudar sus estudios. Los interesados deberán someter una transcripción oficial de otros estudios que hayan realizado mientras no se encontraban matriculados en la Universidad Interamericana. Antes de ser readmitidos, los estudiantes tienen que pasar por un proceso de evaluación y orientación académica efectuado por el programa correspondiente. Los estudiantes readmitidos se regirán por el Catálogo Graduado y las normas y regulaciones que esten vigentes al momento de la readmisión. (Readmission) Students previously enrolled in Master s Degree Programs at this University and have not registered during the previous thirteen months and doctoral students that have not registered for one semester of the regular academic year, must apply for readmission. Every application for readmission must be received at least three weeks before the first day of registration of the term in which students wish to resume their studies. And official transcript of any work taken while students were not enrolled at Inter American University should be submitted. Before being readmitted, students must receive an academic evaluation and orientation by the corresponding Program Director. Readmitted students will be governed by the Graduate Catalog and other norms and regulations in effect at the time of their readmission. Admisión Estudiantes Especiales Se admitirán estudiantes de otras instituciones de enseñanza superior que tengan autorización para tomar cursos en la Universidad Interamericana de Puerto Rico para satisfacer requisitos de su institución de procedencia. Estos estudiantes deberán presentar una certificación de la institución en la que están matriculados. También se admitirán las personas que estén interesadas en tomar cursos de mejoramiento profesional o personal. Estos deberán someter evidencia de su preparación académica. Los estudiantes especiales podrán tomar un máximo de 12 créditos. (Admission for Special Students) Students from other institutions of higher education may take courses at this University to satisfy their home institution requirements if they have the proper authorization. These students must present evidence of registration in their home institution. Persons interested in taking courses for personal or professional improvement may also be admitted. Such persons should submit evidence of the academic preparation that qualifies them to take the courses. Special students may take a maximum of twelve (12) credits.

4 Admisión Estudiantes Extranjeros Los estudiantes extranjeros interesados en ingresar en la Universidad deberán comparecer a una entrevista personal para ser admitidos. Si los solicitantes son admitidos, la Oficina de Admisiones completará el formulario I-20 del Servicio de Inmigración y de Naturalización para que puedan obtener visas de estudiantes. (Admission Foreign Student) Generally, foreign students are not admitted without a personal interview. If the applicants are approved for admission, the Admissions Office fills out the I-20 Form A from the Immigration and Naturalization Service which enables them to obtain student visas. Admisión Estudiantes Transferidos Los candidatos deberán gestionar con su Universidad de procedencia el envio de su expediente académico directamente al funcionario de admisiones del programa para que se le otorgue créditos por estudios ya realizados en las condiciones estipuladas a continuación: Se aceptarán únicamente nueve créditos para propósito de transferencia cuando las calificaciones obtenidas sean de A o B Que los cursos sean equivalentes a los cursos ofrecidos en la Universidad Interamericana y si cumplen con los requisitos departamentales. Si el estudiante ya completó una maestría no se aceptarán transferencias de crédito. Estudiantes que hayan comenzado estudios doctorales en otra universidad acreditada podrán transferir un máximo de (15) créditos, cuando la calificaciones obtenidas sean A o B y en cursos que sean equivalentes a los cursos ofrecidos. (Transfer Students Admission) Applicants should request that the University where they studied send a copy of their transcript directly to the person or office indicated in the section Admissions, so that they may receive credit for their studies. For Master s programs, no more than nine (9) credits will be accepted for transfer, and these only if the grades achieved are A or B, and if the courses are considered comparable to those offered at this University and meet department requirements. Courses for a completed degree will not be cosidered for transfer credits. Students, who have begun doctoral studies at another accredited university may transfer a maximum of 15 credits if the grades achieved are A or B and if the courses are considered comparable to those offered at this University. Admisión Veteranos y Personal Militar Los programas graduados ofrecidos en la Universidad Interamericana de Puerto Rico están disponibles para veteranos, dependientes elegibles, el personal militar en general e incluso el personal civil del Departamento de la Defensa. Se puede obtener información detallada a través de la Oficina de Registraduría.
