2 This problem is much more difficult than that problem. ( Este problema es mucho más difícil que ese problema. ) Jane s parents are much older than Jack s parents. (Los papás de Jane son mucho más grandes (mayores) que los papas de Jack.) My grandmother is becoming weaker and weaker. (Mi abuela cada vez esta mas débil.) In winter, the weather gets colder and colder. ( En invierno, el clima se pone más frío ) It seems that there are fewer and fewer boxes being sent to Japan. 3 Grammar focus (enfoque gramatical) Usa like better para decir que alguien le gusta una cosa o persona más que otra cosa o. También, usa which...better para formar una pregunta acerca de preferencias. E.g.)Which do you like better, baseball or basketball? ( Cuál te gusta mejor, beisbol o basquetbol?) I like baseball better. (Me gusta mejor el beisbol) Usa like the best para hablar de la cosa o persona más querida. También usa, which...the best para preguntar quién es tu más querida. Puedes omitir the en este caso. E.g.)Which sport do you like the best? ( Cuál deporte te gusta más?) I like baseball (the) best. (El que más me gusta es el béisbol) Agrega much en frente del grado comparativo para describir la intensidad de la comparación. E.g.)You are much taller than Tom. (Tú eres mucho más alto que Tom) You are much more active than Tom. (Tú eres mucho más active que Tom) Comparativos dobles pueden describir el incremento o decremento continuo. E.g.)You grow taller and taller. (Tú creces más alto y más alto.) Fewer and fewer students go abroad to study. (cada vez son más pocos los estudiantes van al extranjero a estudiar) 3
