We want to get close and take the Church s pulse, see the Church s heart to detect signs of life. We want proof that she is as alive as when Jesus Christ founded her. Contemporary society is eager to live; it needs someone to bring it life and so it challenges the Christians of our time to prove that we can still change the world. By what signs can the Church show today that she is alive? Today s gospel brings us a beautiful example that can help us understand better in the person of doubting Thomas. He also approached Jesus looking for signs of life, and when he saw the Lord s hands, his feet and his heart, he believed that Jesus is alive and is God. Like Thomas we come to the Eucharist with our anguish, our doubts and our hopes. We come looking for signs of life in our brothers and sisters. May this Mass fill us with life so that we may share it with others. Mensaje del Párroco En la crisis actual hay mucha confusión; muchos han dejado de creer. Y nos acercamos a tomar el pulso a la Iglesia, a ver el corazón de la Iglesia, para detectar signos de vida. Queremos pruebas que nos digan que ella sigue viva como cuando la fundó Jesucristo. La sociedad contemporánea tiene ansias de vivir, necesita alguien que le traiga la vida, y por eso desafía a los cristianos de nuestro tiempo a que prueben que pueden aún transformar el mundo. Cuáles son los signos que la Iglesia puede dar hoy de que está viva? El texto del evangelio de este día nos trae un ejemplo muy hermoso que nos ayudará a entender mejor: la persona de Tomás, el incrédulo. Él también se acercó a Jesús buscando en Él señales de vida. Cuando vio sus manos, sus pies, y su corazón, creyó que Él estaba vivo y era Dios. Como Tomás venimos a nuestra eucaristía también con nuestras angustias y dudas, y con nuestras esperanzas. Venimos buscando en nuestros hermanos un signo de vida. Que esta misa nos ayude a llenarnos de vida para luego compartirla con los demás.
