1 Dear Parents, We hope you all had a wonderful break! As we reflect on the first half of the year, we celebrate the many accomplishments of our WLA students in both academics and sports. We are so very proud of our kids and the progress they are making every day! We look forward watching them grow and succeed as the year progresses. *World Language Academy Updates* Toro Award Winners Reminder: Please remember to fill out the school climate survey if you have not already done so. Georgia Parent Survey: Inclement Weather: As we are entering the winter season, we wanted to let everyone know that Hall County is organizing Digital Learning Days Modules/Plans for home, just in case we are out for inclement weather. Last year, the Learning Days from home were very successful. The teachers have prepared for at least two workdays from home. Each grade level will be sending or have sent information on expectations, the timeline for completing the assignments, etc. All of the teachers will be available through their s during the Digital Learning Days from 9:00-2:00. Rising 6th grader Meeting Our Rising 6 th graders Parent Night is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, January 31 st from 6:00 to 7:00pm in the AOD Learning Commons. During this time, our WLA teachers, students and administration will provide information regarding our continued dual immersion program at the middle school, career exploration opportunities, academics, learning showcases, WLA sports and our study abroad trip to Costa Rica.

Sports at WLA This has definitely been an exciting basketball/cheerleading season! We are extremely proud of our athletes and look forward to the basketball tournaments this coming weekend!

2 Sports at WLA This has definitely been an exciting basketball/cheerleading season! We are extremely proud of our athletes and look forward to the basketball tournaments this coming weekend! Our students are currently preparing for the upcoming soccer season. The WLA soccer schedule will be sent out to families in the near future. Vision-Our student will be bilingual, bi-literate, and caring multicultural citizens. Mission-At WLA, our mission is to empower and inspire future globally-minded citizens that create lasting solutions. We provide an innovative, dual-language immersion environment, as we strive to develop world changing individuals that respect and serve others. Si analizamos lo acontecido en la primera mitad del año, celebramos los muchos logros de nuestros estudiantes en las áreas académicas y atléticas. 4 Georgia Parent Survey: Inclemencias del Clima: Ahora que estamos en la estación de invierno deseamos hacerles saber que el Condado de Hall está organizando Módulos de Enseñanza Digital para la casa, en caso de que las condiciones de clima lo exijan. El año pasado los Días de Aprendizaje desde el Hogar tuvieron mucho éxito. Los maestros se han preparado con por lo menos dos días de trabajo para la casa. Cada nivel de grado envía el nivel de expectativa, el tiempo requerido para completar las tareas, etc. Todos los maestros estarán disponibles a través de sus correos electrónicos durante los días de aprendizaje desde el hogar, de 9:00am a 2:00pm. La Noche de Padres de estudiantes que van al sexto grado está organizada para el 31 de enero de 6:00 a 7:00 en el Learning Commons de AOD. Durante esta hora los maestros de la WLA, estudiantes y personal de administración proveerán información sobre nuestro programa bilingüe en la escuela intermedia (Middle School), oportunidades para explorar carreras, materias a enseñar, presentaciones de proyectos, deportes y el viaje a Costa Rica. Deportes en WLA Esto de verdad ha sido una emocionante temporada de baloncesto / cheerleading! Nuestros estudiantes se están preparando para la próxima temporada de fútbol. El horario de fútbol de la WLA se enviará a las familias en un futuro próximo. Visión- Nuestros estudiantes serán bilingües, y ciudadanos multiculturales y bondadosos. Misión- En la WLA, nuestra misión es apoderar e inspirar a futuros ciudadanos de mentalidad global que crean soluciones duraderas. Proporcionamos un entorno de inmersión de doble lenguaje innovador, mientras nos esforzamos por desarrollar individuos que cambiarán el mundo y que respetan y sirven a los demás.
