5 Objetos Directos - A direct object tells who or what receives the action of the verb. - To avoid repeating a noun, you can replace it with a direct object pronoun (DOP). - DOP mean it or them Singular Plural Lo It (masculine) Los Them (masculine) La It (feminine) Las Them (feminine) Place the DOP immediately before conjugated verb. Cuándo compraste la falda? - La compé ayer. When making the statement negative notice the placement of the DOP is still immediately before the conjugated verb. Tienes mi suéter? - No, no lo tengo. Presente Progresivo The present progressive is used when a speaker would like to emphasize an action in progress. It is formed by using the verb Estar and the present participle. Estar + Participle estoy estás está estamos estáis están + ANDO IENDO (AR verbs) (ER/IR verbs) I am eating. You are talking. We are living. Estoy comiendo. Estás hablando. Estamos viviendo.
6 Pretérito In Spanish there two different ways to speak in the past tense, we will concentrate on the preterit tense. The preterit generally translates to ed. I walked to school yesterday. Notice the method is the same to conjugate present tense verbs as in the preterit; you only need to change the endings. AR ER/IR Ir = to go é amos í imos fui fuimos aste asteis iste isteis fuiste fuisteis ó aron ió ieron fue Fueron Presente Pretérito I walk to school. Camino a la escuela. I walked to school. Caminé a la escuela. You eat the banana. Comes el plátano. You ate the banana. Comiste el plátano. He works. Él trabaja. He worked. Él trabajó.
No me queda bien. Me queda grande.
