Do not install if you do not understand the instructions. Do not install if you have doubts on safety. Please contact a qualified contractor or SECURMOUNT immediately if you have questions, damaged or missing parts. Do not use this product if your Flat Panel TV weighs more than 175 lbs or if you are not hanging on a vertical wall. This product is for mounting Flat Panel Video Displays only. Do not install if under the influence of any drug or alcohol. 2 Installation Instructions WR DETERMINE THE LOCATION OF INSTALLATION. This product is designed to be mounted directly between two studs that are approximately 16 apart on center, on a wood-framed wall. LOCATE THE VERTICAL (UP AND DOWN) STUD LINES a. Identify the general location of where you will mount the TV/Display. b. Using a wall stud finder and pencil, locate two parallel wall studs within the area of the preferred mounting location. NOTE: The centerline of the TV will be the centerline between the two closest studs. c. Mark a light vertical line along the centerline of both studs. Be sure you mark the lines at the centerline of the wall stud. The studs must be between 15 ½ - 16 apart between centerlines of each stud. d. Be sure these vertical lines are set within the estimated outline area of where you will mount the TV. FIND THE HORIZONTAL (ACROSS) LINE e. Determine where you want the desired top line of the TV/Display on the wall. Mark a horizontal line at that height. Be sure this marked horizontal line is marked across both vertical intersections of the vertical wall stud lines as marked in (b). f. Mount the WR-20 TV MOUNTING BACK PLATE AND HORIZONTAL ADJUSTMENT PLATE to the back of the TV / Display. Use the screws provided by the TV manufacturer or if not available, use the appropriate screws provided in the installation kit. Be sure to tighten the screws firmly yet do not over-tighten. g. To determine where the RECESSED MOUNT BOX will be mounted, follow this procedure: Measure the distance from the top of the TV/display to one of the top mounting screw holes in the TV BACKPLATE. Be sure you measure to the TOP screw hole in the TV BACKPLATE. Subtract 1 ½. Using this distance, mark a line from the top TV line (e) to the top cut line for the RECESSED MOUNT BOX. Mark this horizontal line (16 wide ) between the two stud lines marked in ( c ). h. Mark another horizontal line 12 ½ below the line in (g). Mark this horizontal line between the two stud lines (c) 16 wide. i. Mark two vertical lines 14 ½ apart centered between the two vertical stud lines (c) and the two horizontal lines in (h). This is the outline for the RECESSED MOUNT BOX. j. Using a drywall saw, carefully cut drywall out of the area as outlined in (i). Be sure you do not cut into a power line. Cut a small area out first and look inside the wall. k. Insert the RECESSED MOUNT BOX into the cut out area. Using a level, mark a level line along the top edge. Using a pencil, outline the bolt holes at the 4 corners of the RECESSED MOUNT BOX. They must be over the centerline of the vertical stud lines. These will be your lag bolt mounting screw holes. Place RECESSED MOUNT BOX to the side. Mark an X at the center point of the outlined bolt holes in (k). (4 places). l. Drill a 3/16 hole into the stud at the marks in (k) to a depth of 2.5. at the four X marks. m. Reinsert the RECESSED MOUNT BOX. Hold the mount against the wall aligning the 4 holes to the correct WALLPLATE bolt holes. Using a socket wrench, drive a lag bolt and flat washer into each of the four holes. Prior to tightening, be sure plate is level. Tighten firmly. Insert the upper and lower RECESSED MOUNT BOX COVERS. Secure them to the box using the 8mm screws (included). n. Hang the Display / TV over the articulating mount bracket. o. INSTALLING THE TV/DISPLAY *** (SAFETY NOTE Two strong and capable persons MUST perform this step). p. Carefully pick up TV/Display and hook unit onto the matching articulating pivot arm. Be sure the TV is hanging on the two pivot studs. Install the TILTING KNOB and sleeve per and tighten. Tighten horizontal adjustment knobs over the threaded bolts and tighten. The TV is now secure to the wall. q. To adjust horizontal position of TV, slightly loosen knobs and reset to desired level.
