4 1 Intended use GlobalGuard is software to manage devices of the Home Alarm System. You can configure the system settings, add devices and set up home automation keys with the GlobalGuard PC setup software. Home automation key (III) The home automation keys (I/II/III) correspond to the home automation buttons (I/II/III) on the control panel.

5 3.1.1 SYNC To copy the settings from the software to the control panel. Caution: Sync the system if any modifications are made in the setup software. Make sure that you sync before you close the software to execute the changes EVENT LOG The event log is a record of all activities executed by the control panel. 6 PROGRAMMES A programme is a set of action(s) that are activated immediately when called upon by the user. Programmes can be assigned to the home automation buttons (I/II/III) on the control panel, so that they are activated when the user presses the buttons on the control panel, the keys on the home page of the PC setup software or in the online remote access software or smartphone app. To add and maintain up to 16 programmes. Note: The PROGRAMMES button becomes grey when you have reached the maximum number of programmes. Set the arming mode to PART-ARM-II. Set the arming mode to DISARM. Set the arming mode to HOLIDAY ARM. Take no action when you switch on or off. Switch on all on/off receiver devices that have ALL ON checked. Switch off all on/off receiver devices. Switch on/off particular receiver devices. 7 EVENT An event is a set of multiple actions that take place when the system is triggered by a detector. For example, an event can be created to automatically switch on the porch lamp (connected to an on/off device) when the door/window contact detector detects the front door opening. Unlike programmes, events are activated by detectors rather than activated upon request by the user. An event can also be set to be triggered by a change in the security settings. For example, setting the control panel to an arming mode remotely through the website can switch on the light to warn off intruders. To add and maintain up to 32 events. 8 SCHEDULE A schedule is a set of multiple actions activated when the preset time is reached. For example, you can create a schedule to switch a table lamp connected to an on/off device on at 6 p.m. and off at 11 p.m. on a daily basis or on particular days. To add and maintain up to 32 schedules. 9 SYSTEM To set users, sirens, time and date, control panel and Spectra lighting receiver. Note: The PIN code for Admin cannot be left blank. You cannot use the same PIN code for two users. The PIN code must be 4 digits. The user who does not have a remote control or a PIN code is shown as DISABLE. The duress code activates an alert to a contact when the control panel is disarmed in the property via the keypad on the control panel. Refer to the online hardware manual for additional details on the settings of the control panel, the solar siren and the Spectra lighting receiver. SETTINGS Note: VIDEO in NEW EVENTS indicates if the optional CCTV camera has recorded a video file associated with that event HOME PAGE The home page shows: The - the security status of the control panel - the user who are logged in - the event log of all security actions SECURITY icon indicates whether the video camera has recorded video associated with the event. The page is used to activate security functions (Fully Arm, Holiday Arm, Partial-Arm I/II or Disarm). You will get the 4 digit admin/user PIN code to enable any of the security settings HOME AUTOMATION The page shows all home automation programmes stored in the control panel. The page is also used to activate a programme. RUN OTHER SCENES VIEW ACTIVITY LOG VIDEO PLAYBACK To show and control other programmes stored in the control panel. To show an event log of the programmes activated by the user. The page is used to play video files recorded by the optional GlobalGuard CCTV camera. Click the button to refresh the file list. 9

10 3.2.5 CAMERA VIEW The page is used to view real time video recorded by the optional GlobalGuard CCTV camera SETTINGS To set the settings. Camera Settings Contact Settings Account Settings 3.3 GlobalGuard app To add and edit 8 cameras for the optional GlobalGuard CCTV camera. To add and edit 5 addresses for system alerts. To set the account settings. Only the administrator can change the Admin ID, password and addresses. Passwords must have 8 characters. The GlobalGuard app is available for ios and Android. You can use the app to: view the security status and control security view event logs activate programmes view CCTV cameras play back recorded video files associated with event logs only take a photograph (snapshot) and save it onto the mobile device Note: Do not use the mobile device to access the online GlobalGuard software. You can only access the online GlobalGuard web software with a Windows PC and Internet Explorer due to ActiveX control. Up to 6 online users and admin users can log in to the system simultaneously using the app. The app will not show all video files for playback from any optional CCTV camera. The app will only show video files associated with any trigger events. The video files will appear as [PLAY] next to the events in the event log. If more than one camera is connected to your system, the app will only play back video from one of the cameras. The apps are subject to updates at any time without notice. 3.4 GlobalGuard Camplay software The GlobalGuard Camplay software is used to play back video files transferred from the Micro SD card of your CCTV camera to your PC. The software can also convert a video file to AVI format, so that it can be played back from most types of media players. Switch on the control panel and the gateway. Downloading the GlobalGuard PC setup software 1. Go to 2. Download the GlobalGuard PC setup software. 3. Install the software. 4. Install Microsoft.Net Framework V4.0, if requested during the installation. After the installation the application icon will appear on the desktop Changing the PIN code The User PIN code is used to access the control panel. The system will prompt the user for Admin PIN code, before it reads the data from the control panel. The factory preset Admin PIN code for the control panel is When you use the system for the first time, change the default PIN code Setting the time and date Make sure that you set the time and date of the system to the same time and date of the PC Registering You must register the gateway and create an account to use the online GlobalGuard software. 1. Go to 2. If you are a new user, click HERE. 3. Enter the MAC ID located on the rear of the IP gateway. 4. Follow the instructions. Note: You must accept the EULA terms and conditions. You must select the link in the confirmation to log in. You must accept the active X prompt bar. Store your login details in a safe place. 11

12 4.1.4 Downloading the app The app can be downloaded for free from GooglePlay or AppStore Downloading the Camplay software The Camplay software can be downloaded from After installation, a shortcut icon will appear on the desktop. 5 Operation Caution: Make sure that you set the correct time and date on the computer. Do not use the software at the same time when you use the online software or a mobile device. Make sure that you sync to save all settings after you changed the settings. Make sure that the first two indicators on the IP gateway are green before installation. While the software is running, the second RF indicator will remain orange. 5.1 Showing device information On the homepage, click on the device to show the device information. 5.2 Configuring the home automatiom keys 1. Click HOME PAGE. 2. Click a programme icon. The function menu shows the home automation keys. 3. Click the required home automation key. 4. Click SYNC. 5.3 Executing a home automation program On Home Page, click the home automation key to execute the home automation program. A message box shows to inform you if the execution is successful. 5.4 Syncing Note: The software cannot be used when the software is syncing. 1. Click SYNC. 2. Click START. A message box shows the progress. 12

13 5.4.1 Showing EVENT LOG 1. Go to EVENT LOG. 2. Click GET LATEST EVENTS Adding a device You can link all devices, except for the optional GlobalGuard camera. The camera is not shown. The camera is only linked via the online GlobalGuard software. 1. On ADD DEVICE, click ADD NEW DEVICE. 2. Select the security device. 3. Follow the instructions Replacing a device If you click Replace Device, all existing devices will be shown. Note: The first two security detector devices (PIR movement detector/door window contact) will automatically assign to zones 1 and 2 which have preconfigured 30-second entry/exit delays. It is recommended that you add the first detector to an entry/exit point of your property (e.g. front door). When you add a security device to the system, the control panel will beep to indicate the reception of the learning code. The entry delay can be set up in ADVANCE SETTING for the device. You can set up the exit delay for a arming mode under SETTINGS > SYSTEM > CONTROL PANEL. You must always specify the location of the security detector device. Part Arm-I and Part Arm-II are used to activate any security detector that has been configured to operate with Part Arm-I or Part Arm-II. By default none of the detectors are set to Part Arm-I or Part Arm-II. (For example: arming the downstairs security detectors when asleep at night.) The Holiday Arm mode is a duplicate of the Fully Arm mode. The Fully Arm mode is commonly used daily, whereas the Holiday Arm mode is used when away on holiday for a longer period. 1. On ADD DEVICE, click REPLACE DEVICE. 2. Select the security device. 3. Follow the instructions. 13

Follow the instructions. 4. Click WHERE USED to show the programmes, events and schedules. 5. Click REMOVE to remove the device. 6. Click ADVANCE SETTING to go to advance settings Resetting the password for the online account To reset the password you must be located in your home or ensure your PC is connected to the same network as that of the gateway. 1. Go to 2. Click FORGET YOUR PASSWORD if you forgot the password. 3. Click YES. 4. Enter the MAC ID and Admin ID. The MAC ID is printed on a label on the bottom of the gateway. 5. Follow the instructions. The system will send a temporary password to the address of the admin user. 6 Operation (online access) Go to You can make an account to: - control the security functions - activate programmes - add up to 8 CCTV cameras - view and play cameras - set up accounts Note: You must set up at least one contact under SETTINGS > CONTACT to allow that contact to receive alerts from the system. You must always log out. The response time of the software will depend on the speed of the online server at the time. 15

16 7 Operation (mobile app access) Open the GlobalGuard mobile app on the mobile device. Note: The mobile device must be connected to the Internet within good reception. The app can be left open in the background whilst running other apps. It will continue to receive system alerts. If the Android app is left open, a green dot will appear on the notification bar of the device. If a red dot appears then this indicates the app is disconnected. If the app is left open, this will reduce the battery life of the device. 8 Playing back a video file using the GlobalGuard Camplay Software 1. Select the file. 2. Select the camera ID. 3. Click PLAY. Note: You can search for photographs from DIRECTORY SETTINGS > SNAPSHOT FOLDERS. 9 Troubleshooting PROBLEM CAUSE SOLUTION The control panel cannot be located The control panel is switched OFF. Switch on the control panel. by the GlobalGuard PC setup Make sure the first two indicators on the IP software. Gateway are green. The control panel is placed too far away from the gateway. The event is not activated when a detector or system trigger is initiated. The event is not set up correctly. Set up the event again. Sync and exit the software before you activate the event Check the Internet connection. The web page of the home page cannot be accessed. The gateway has no access to the Internet. 23 EVENT [EREIGNIS] Bei einem Ereignis handelt es sich um einen Satz mehrerer Aktionen, die stattfinden, wenn die Anlage von einem Detektor ausgelöst wird. Ein Ereignis kann beispielsweise so erstellt werden, dass eine (mit einem Homeautomation-Gerät verbundene) Stehlampe automatisch eingeschaltet wird, wenn der Tür-/Fensterkontakt feststellt, dass die vordere Tür geöffnet wird. Im Gegensatz zu Programmen werden Ereignisse von Meldern aktiviert und nicht durch eine Anfrage seitens des Benutzers. Ein Ereignis kann auch so eingestellt werden, dass es durch eine Änderung der Sicherheitseinstellungen ausgelöst wird. Wird das Bedienfeld beispielsweise über die Webseite aus der Fernen scharf gestellt, kann hierdurch das Licht zur Abschreckung von Einbrechern eingeschaltet werden.
