THE PRESENT PERFECT a. REPASO DEL PARTICIPIO PASADO b. EL PRESENTE PERFECTO
En inglés formamos el presente perfecto combinando (by combining) have o has con el participio pasado de un verbo: - he has seen - have you tried? - they haven t eaten.
Los siguientes verbos tienen participios pasados irregulares: abrir (to open) Imprimir (to print) freír (to fry) hacer (to do) morir (to die) poner (to put) resolver (to resolve) romper (to break) ver (to see) volver (to return) abierto (open) impreso / imprimido (printed) frito (fried) hecho (done) muerto (dead) puesto (put) resuelto (resolved) roto (broken) visto (seen) vuelto (returned)
Cualquier verbo derivado de un participio pasado irregular también tendrá un participio pasado irregular: * cubrir (to cover) cubierto (covered) ~ descubrir (to discover / uncover) descubierto (uncovered / discovered) * decir (to say) dicho (said) ~ predecir (to predict / foretell) predicho (predicted, foretold) * escribir (to write) escrito (written) ~ describir (to describe) descrito (described)
Tanto en inglés como en español, los participios pasados pueden ser usados como adjetivos para modificar un sustantivo. En español, cuando el participio pasado es usado como adjetivo, concuerda en género y en número con el sustantivo que modifica: Esa pintura fue hecha en el Perú That painting was made in Perú Las catedrales fueron construidas en The cathedrals were built in El arquitecto está desilucionado The architect is disillusioned El libro está abierto The book is opened Los problemas están resueltos The problems are resolved
II. El presente perfecto es un tiempo compuesto que requiere dos verbos: ~En inglés el presente perfecto se forma con: the present tense of the auxiliary verb to have + past participle. ~En español el presente perfecto se forma con: el presente del indicativo de la forma auxiliar del verbo haber + el participio pasado
(ENGLISH MOMENT) : FORMAS DEL VERBO AUXILIAR: HABER (TO HAVE) This is the HELPING verb haber (to have), and is not to be confused with the IMPERSONAL verb haber (there to be). There are two main uses for this verb: a. It is used with the past participle of other verbs to form the compound tenses, otherwise known as the "perfect tenses". b. It is sometimes used with the preposition de plus an infinitive to mean "to have to" or "to be supposed to.
Haber Participio pasado Yo He Tú Ud., él, ella Nosotros/as Has Ha Hemos } tomado comido Vosotros/as Habéis vivido Uds., ellos, ellas Han
Cuándo y cómo usamos el Presente Perfecto? -Veamos.
I. A. SE USA PARA INDICAR UNA ACCIÓN QUE HA SIDO COMPLETADA EN EL PASADO RECIENTE B. PARA INDICAR UNA ACCIÓN QUE COMENZÓ EN EL PASADO Y QUE CONTINÚA HASTA EL PRESENTE Hoy me he quedado a trabajar hasta tarde. I stayed to work late today. Últimamente mis padres han experimentado muchas dificultades personales pero ahora han logrado superarlas. My parents have experienced many personal difficulties lately, but so far they ve managed to overcome them.
II. EL VERBO HABER CONCUERDA CON EL SUJETO DE LA ORACIÓN. EL PARTICIPIO PASADO, NO CAMBIA CUANDO FORMA PARTE DEL PRESENTE PERFECTO Has intentado hablar con tu amiga? Have you tried to call your friend? No, pero he hablado con su madre. No, but I ve spoken to her mother
III. EL VERBO HABER Y EL PARTICIPIO PASADO NO PUEDEN SER SEPARADOS POR NINGUNA PALABRA. PRONOMBRES Y PALABRAS QUE INDICAN NEGACIÓN (NO, NUNCA, TAMPOCO, ETC.) SIEMPRE VAN DELANTE DEL VERBO HABER. Has conocido al señor malhumorado? Have you met the bad-tempered man? No lo he conocido todavía No, I haven t met him yet Engañó el político a los votantes? Did the politician deceived the voters? Sin duda los ha engañado Without a doubt, he has deceived them
IV. EL VERBO HABER NO SE PUEDE CAMBIAR POR EL VERBO TENER. HABER SIGNIFICA TO HAVE SOLAMENTE CUANDO SE USA CON EL PARTICIPIO PASADO. TENER SIGNIFICA POSEER (TO HAVE O TO OWN ). El director del colegio tiene pocas opciones The school principal has few options Tienes un oso de peluche You have a teddy bear
V. RECUERDA QUE DEBES USAR EL PRESENTE DEL INDICATIVO DE ACABAR DE + INFINITIVO PARA DESCRIBIR UN EVENTO QUE PASÓ RECIÉN (HAS JUST HAPPENED). El vanidoso acaba de anunciar su buena fortuna The conceited man has just announced his good fortune Acabo de prevenir una crisis I have just prevented a crisis
