1 AX-ADTY01 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS Lexus / Toyota Amplifier Interface INTRODUCTION The AX-ADTY01 is designed to and MUST be used with the AX-ADBOX1 or AX-ADBOX2 (sold seperately). Please refer to AX-ADBOX1 or AX-ADBOX2 for 16-pin harness with stripped leads. The ASWC-1/AUX-IN harness will not be used in these applications. Steering wheel controls cannot be retained in this application. The ASWC-1/AUX-IN harness will not be used in this application. All accessories, switches, climate controls panels, and especially air bag indicator lights must be connected before cycling the ignition. 2 CONNECTIONS TO BE MADE From the 16-pin harness with stripped leads to the aftermarket radio: Connect the Red wire to the accessory wire. Connect the Blue/White wire to the amp turn on wire. This wire must be connected to hear sound from the factory amplifier. Connect the White wire to the left front positive speaker output. Connect the White/Black wire to the left front negative speaker output. Connect the Gray wire to the right front positive speaker output. Connect the Gray/Black wire to the right front negative speaker output. Connect the Green wire to the radio s left rear positive speaker output. Connect the Green/Black wire to the radio s left rear negative speaker output. Connect the Purple wire to the radio s right rear positive speaker output. Connect the Purple/Black wire to the radio s right rear negative speaker output. Tape off and disregard the following (5) wires, they will not be used in this application: Blue/Pink, Brown, Green/Purple, Light Green, Orange/White From the ASWC-1/AUX-IN harness to the aftermarket radio: This harness is to be used along with the optional ASWC-1 (not included) to retain steering wheel audio controls. If the ASWC-1 is not being used, disregard this harness, unless AUX-IN is desired to be retained. If it will be used, please refer to the ASWC-1 instructions for radio connections and programming. Note: Disregard the harness that comes with the ASWC-1. Note: Not applicable for the Toyota Avalon Connect the Black wire to the ground wire. Connect the Red wire to the accessory wire. This harness will work with both early and late generation model Toyota SWC harnesses. Early generation models use a 20-pin harness; late generation models use a 28-pin harness. Use only the appropriate harness that the vehicle requires (only one of the harnesses will connect into the wiring harness in the vehicle). The 12-pin harness will connect into the ASWC-1. If retaining the factory AUX-IN jack, connect the Red & White RCA jacks to the AUX input. From the AX-ADTY01 harness to the aftermarket radio: Connect the Black wire to the radio s ground wire. Connect the Yellow wire to the battery wire. Connect the Blue wire to the power antenna wire. 2

3 INSTALLING THE AXXESS INTERFACE TESTING THE AXXESS INTERFACE With the key in the off position: Connect the AX-ADTY01 harness into the interface, and then to the wiring harness in the vehicle. Connect the ASWC-1/AUX-IN harness to the wiring harness in the vehicle. Note: If using the ASWC-1, connect it after you test the interface, with the key in the off position. Note: Not applicable for the Toyota Avalon Turn the key (or push-to-start button) to the ignition position and wait until the radio comes on. The factory amplifier should come on and you should hear sound at this point. Test all functions of the installation for proper operation, before reassembling the dash. Todos los accesorios, interruptores, paneles de controles de clima y especialmente las luces del indicador de las bolsas de aire deben estar conectados antes ciclar la ignición. Además, no quite el radio de fábrica con la llave en la posición o de encendido ni con el vehículo funcionando. 6 CONEXIONES QUE SE DEBEN HACER Del arnés de 16 pins con conectores pelados al radio de mercado secundario: Conecte el cable rojo con el cable de accesorios. Conecte el cable azul/blanco con el cable de encendido del amplificador. Este cable debe estar conectado para escuchar sonido del amplificador de fábrica. Conecte el cable blanco con la salida positiva de la bocina izquierda delantera. Conecte el cable blanco/negro con la salida negativa de la bocina izquierda delantera. Conecte el cable gris con la salida positiva de la bocina derecha delantera. Conecte el cable gris/negro con la salida negativa de la bocina derecha delantera. Conecte el cable verde con la salida positiva de la bocina izquierda trasera. Conecte el cable verde/negro con la salida negativa de la bocina izquierda trasera. Conecte el cable púrpura con la salida positiva de la bocina derecha trasera. Conecte el cable púrpura/negro con la salida negativa de la bocina derecha trasera. Encinte e ignore los siguientes (5) cables, ya que no se utilizarán en esta aplicación: azul/rosa, marrón, verde/púrpura, verde claro, anaranjado/blanco Desde el arnés ASWC-1/AUX-IN al radio de mercado secundario: Este arnés se debe usar junto con el ASWC-1 opcional (no incluido) para retener los controles de audio en el volante. Si no se va a usar el ASWC-1, ignore este arnés, a menos que se desee retener AUX-IN. Si se va a utilizar, consulte las instrucciones de ASWC-1 para las conexiones del radio y la programación. Nota: Ignore el arnés que viene con el ASWC-1. Nota: No aplicable para el Toyota Avalon Conecte el cable negro al cable de tierra. Conecte el cable rojo con el cable de accesorios. Este arnés funcionará con los modelos de Toyota y el modelo Toyota de la generación temprana. Los modelos de la primera generación utilizan un arnés de 20 pines; los modelos de última generación utilizan un arnés de 28 pines. Use sólo el arnés apropiado que el vehículo requiere (sólo uno de los arneses se conectará en el mazo de cables del vehículo). El arnés de 12 pines se conectará en el ASWC-1. Si retener el enchufe AUX-IN de fábrica, conecte los conectores RCA rojo y blanco al entrada AUX. Desde el arnés de AX-ADTY01 al radio de mercado secundario: Conecte el cable negro al cable de tierra. Conecte el cable amarillo al cable de la batería. Conecte el cable azul al cable de la antena eléctrica. 2

7 INSTALACIÓN DE LA AXXESS INTERFASE PRUEBA DE LA AXXESS INTERFASE Con la llave en la posición de apagado: Conecte el arnés AX-ADTY01 a la interfase, y luego al arnés de cableado del vehículo. Conecte el arnés ASWC-1/AUX-IN al arnés de cableado del vehículo. Nota: Si utiliza la ASWC-1, conéctela después de probar la interfaz, con la tecla en la posición de apagado. Nota: No aplicable para el Toyota Avalon Gire la llave (o pulsar para botón de inicio) a la posición de encendido y esperar hasta que la radio se enciende. El amplificador de fábrica debe encenderse y usted debe oír el sonido en este punto. Pruebe todas las funciones de la instalación para su correcto funcionamiento, antes de volver a montar el tablero.
