1 IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR IMMIGRANT VISA APPOINTMENTS Dear Applicant: Your appointment has been scheduled for the date and hour shown on your appointment letter / . ALL APPLICANTS scheduled to apply for the immigrant visa, including children, are required to attend the interview. You must present the attached appointment letter at window # 1 (without doing the line) for entry. Please tell our personnel that you have an IMMIGRANT visa appointment. You do NOT have to do the line for TOURIST visas. When you enter the Consular Section and you are called, please present to the Immigrant Visa staff the ORIGINAL documents (and required photocopies) in the order listed below. 1. Form DS-230: (Application for Immigrant Visa) One form (part I and II) MUST be completed for each applicant. Answer every question. Sign Part I but do NOT sign Part II. If a question does not apply to you, you must reply with not applicable 2. Passports: Your passport must be valid. Please present all previous passports and one photocopy of the first page of each passport (containing your biographic information). 3. Photographs: You MUST bring TWO (2) identical recent photographs 2x2 inches (5x5 centimeters), FRONT VIEW, light white/ off-white background, with white background on glossy paper, unretouched, and unmounted. Photographs that do not meet the requirements will not be accepted. 4. Birth Entry: The document must be legalized by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Argentina in case it was issued in a Civil Register of any Argentine Province or Buenos Aires Suburbs (see legalizations instructions below). 5. Marriage Entry: The document/s must be legalized by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Argentina in case it was issued in a Civil Register of any Argentine Province or Buenos Aires Suburbs (see legalizations instructions below). 6. Spouse s Death Entry: The document must be legalized by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Argentina in case it was issued in a Civil Register of any Argentine Province or Buenos Aires Suburbs (see legalizations instructions below). 7. Divorce Decree. 8. Military Service: Original and one copy. This should be from the appropriate military authority specifying service done, exemption, etc. Argentine citizens may present their DNI as evidence. If so, Argentine citizens MUST bring the original and one copy of the DNI pages containing the name, photograph, biographic data, and military entries. 1

Police Certificates: In case of police certificate from Argentina, you must obtain the nationally produced Certificado de Antecedentes Penales issued by the Registro Nacional de Reincidencia of the Federal Ministry of Justice and Human Rights at Tucumán 1353, Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires. The petition must specifically mention that the certificate is requested con excepción al artículo 51 del Código Penal 10. Medical Exam: Bring the sealed envelope as the physician gave it to you. If the envelope shows signs of tampering or that it has been opened, it will NOT be accepted. 11. Evidence of Support: Bring the original affidavit of support (I-864) plus all supporting documentation for each family member applying for a visa. 12. Evidence of relationship as photos, wedding photos, invitations, etc: We prefer to see many photos of the petitioner and the beneficiary at varying times throughout their life or relationship. Receipts of money sent from the petitioner to the beneficiary is also good proof of relationship, as well as cards and letters with the original post marked envelopes, and phone records. 13. Parent s Permission/ Consent for Minor Applicant to Live in US. 14. If Diversity Visa Lottery: All school certificates and/ or college certificates must be translated into English by a Sworn English Translator and notarized by the School of Translators. 15. IR2 Visas (child of a US citizen): Must submit the marriage entry and/ or Divorce decree of his/ her parents. IMPORTANT: Translations: Any document not written in English or Spanish must be translated into English by a public/certified translator. Bring the original and one copy of any translation. Legalizations: Any document issued in the Civil Register of any Argentine Province or Buenos Aires Suburbs (Birth, Marriage, and Death Entries) must be legalized in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Argentina located at: Calle 25 de Mayo 179, Capital Federal. Numerically Limited/Preference Categories: Please be aware that if your documents are not in order, including a valid passport, the visa cannot be issued and you may lose the visa number the Embassy obtained for you. If this happens you will have to wait until another visa number can be assigned even if the missing document is presented quickly. PLEASE BE PUNCTUAL. 3 Estimado solicitante: INFORMACION IMPORTANTE PARA LA ENTREVISTA DE SU VISA DE INMIGRANTE Se le ha programado su entrevista en el día y hora indicados en la notificación de la cita adjunta. Todos los solicitantes deben presentarse a la entrevista, incluso los hijos menores. Por favor sea puntual. Presente la confirmación de cita adjunta directamente a ventanilla 1 (sin hacer la fila) a fin de que le permitan la entrada al Consulado. Indique al personal que posee una entrevista para visa de INMIGRANTE. No debe hacer la fila de los solicitantes de visas de TURISMO. Al ser llamado para entrevista en la sala de espera, por favor presente los documentos ORIGINALES (y las fotocopias requeridas) en el orden solicitado a continuación: 1. Formulario DS-230: (Solicitud de Visa Inmigrante): Debe completar un solo formulario DS-230 (Parte I y II) por cada solicitante. Conteste todas las preguntas. Firme solamente la parte I pero NO, firme la parte II de este formulario. Si alguna pregunta no le corresponde, debe contestar no pertinente 2. Pasaportes: Su pasaporte debe ser válido. Por favor presente todos los pasaportes anteriores y una fotocopia de la primera pagina (donde figuran sus datos biográficos) de cada uno. 3. Fotografías: Debe presentar DOS (2) fotos idénticas, 2x2 pulgadas (5x5 centímetros), DE FRENTE, fondo blanco o claro, con brillo, sin retocar ni enmarcar. No se aceptarán las fotos que no cumplan estos requisitos no se aceptarán. 4. Acta de nacimiento: El mismo deberá estar legalizado en caso de haber sido emitido en un registro civil de una provincia (ver instrucciones más abajo en apartado legalizaciones) 5. Acta de matrimonio: El mismo deberá estar legalizado en caso de haber sido emitido en un registro civil de una provincia (ver instrucciones más abajo en apartado legalizaciones) 6. Acta de defunción del Cónyuge: El mismo deberá estar legalizado en caso de haber sido emitido en un registro civil de una provincia (ver instrucciones más abajo en apartado legalizaciones) 7. Sentencia de divorcio. 8. Certificado de servicio militar. 9. Certificado de antecedentes policiales: Para el de Argentina, le recordamos que debe solicitar un Certificado de Antecedentes Penales emitido por el Registro Nacional de Reincidencia del Ministerio de Justicia y Derechos Humanos en Tucumán 1353, Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires. La solicitud debe mencionar específicamente que se solicita el certificado con excepción al artículo 51 del Código Penal 10. Examen médico: Presente el sobre cerrado tal como se lo entregó en el Doctor. Si el sobre muestra signos de haber sido abierto o alterado, NO será aceptado. 3

Evidencia de sostenimiento: Presente la Declaración de Sostenimiento Original (I-864) junto con todos los documentos que lo avalan para cada miembro de la familia que solicita la visa si el peticionario/ sponsor no lo ha hecho aun. 12. Evidencia de relación del beneficiario y peticionario: Presentar evidencia de su relación es muy importante en el Proceso de la Visa de Inmigrante. Nos gustaría ver muchas fotos entre el peticionario y el beneficiario en distintos momentos, a lo largo de su vida o relación. Las constancias de envío de dinero del peticionario al beneficiario también son prueba de la relación como así también lo son tarjetas o cartas con el sobre original sellado por el Correo y el resumen del teléfono. 13. Autorización del padre/ madre para que el solicitante menor de edad viva en los Estados Unidos. 14. Para Visas por Programa de Lotería: Los títulos secundarios y/ o universitarios deben estar traducidos al Ingles por Traductor Público Matriculado y legalizados por el Colegio de Traductores. 15. Visas IR2 (hijo de un ciudadano americano): Debe presentar el acta de matrimonio y/o divorcio de sus padres. IMPORTANTE: Traducciones: Todo documento que no esté escrito en castellano o en inglés debe ser traducido al inglés, por traductor público. Presente el original y una fotocopia de cada traducción. Legalizaciones: Todo documento emitido en un Registro Civil de una Provincia Argentina o del Gran Buenos Aires (Actas de Nacimiento, matrimonio, Defunción) debe ser legalizado en el Ministerio del Interior de la República Argentina en la calle 25 de Mayo 179, Capital Federal. Visas sujetas a limitación numérica: Por favor tenga en cuenta que si no presenta todos los documentos en orden, incluyendo un pasaporte vigente, la visa no podrá ser emitida y puede perder el número de visa que la Embajada ha obtenido para usted. Si esto sucediera, tendrá que esperar hasta que se le asigne otro número, incluso si la documentación faltante se presenta inmediatamente. POR FAVOR SEA PUNTUAL. 5 Prohibited Items The US Embassy will prohibit applicants from entering the building with anything other than the documents they need for their application. The inspection area located inside of the Embassy compound does not have enough room for storage of personal items. The following items are prohibited inside the building and cannot be used during the visa application process: 1-Backpacks, briefcases, travel bags. 2-Cigarettes, cigars. 3-Electrical Devices (not limited to): Cell Phones Batteries Pen drives Chargers Palms 4-Make-Up 5-Liquids: Spray Deodorants Perfumes Lighters 6-Metallic Items: Coins Earrings, necklaces, bracelets. 7-Sharp-edged items: Silverware Scissors Headsets PDSs Audio-Video players Laptops Pagers Water Alcohol Sodas Tweezers Pliers USB cables Modems Calculators Cameras and video cameras Flashlights Mate Nail Files Please help us make your entrance to the Embassy Compound much easier by bringing only the necessary documentation and car/house keys IN HAND. Anyone who ignores these warnings and the Embassy s staff alerts when entering the compound is subject to having their appointment canceled. 5

El sector de ingreso e inspección de seguridad no cuenta con un espacio adecuado para retener o guardar ninguno de los elementos personales. Los siguientes elementos están prohibidos en las instalaciones de la Embajada y no podrán ser utilizados durante el proceso de solicitud de visa: 1- Bolsos, portafolios. 2- Cigarrillos, habanos. 3- Aparatos electrónicos: teléfonos celulares, baterías, pilas pen drives, cargadores, 4- Cosméticos. 5- Líquidos: desodorantes, perfumes, encendedores, 6- Elementos metálicos: monedas, aros grandes, 7- Elementos punzantes y/o filosos: cubiertos, tijeras, pinzas de depilar, palms, auriculares, cables USB, módems, agua, alcohol, alcohol en gel, collares, pulseras alicates, limas de uñas de metal calculadoras, cámaras de fotografía y video, linternas gaseosas, mate Ayúdenos a facilitar su ingreso trayendo únicamente la documentación necesaria para su cita EN MANO + llaves de su casa o vehículo. Usted podría sufrir problemas de acceso a la Embajada o incluso perder su entrevista para solicitud de visa si presenta cualquiera de los elementos prohibidos 6

Si usted ya ha iniciado el proceso de la Visa de Inmigrante y le ha sido dada una cita y necesita registrarse para que DHL le regrese su pasaporte, por favor haga clic aquí para ingresar. Por favor presione clic aquí 4. Lea la información y presione Confirmar 5. Le aparecerá el siguiente mensaje: Comprobar Cuenta Existente Yo ya he ingresado mi información personal para crear una cuenta, pagado mi cargo, o programado una cita en este sistema. Con la opción de presionar SI No Presione NO 6. Ingrese todos sus datos a fin de crear su cuenta y presione Cree Cuenta 7. Seleccione la oficina de DHL por donde desea retirar su pasaporte visado y paquete de visa de inmigrante. 8.
