7 Event SAVE THE DATE We ll be kicking off the Fourth Annual Bunny Hop on Saturday, April 4th at 9:00 a.m. Whether you run, walk or cheer, come on out to what is becoming one of our community s popular events, the Bunny Hop. No, it s not a dancing event. It s a 4-mile run, 2-mile walk/fun run for families, individuals, seniors and students of all ages. This year we are featuring a Junior Bunny Hop Mini-Dash for kids 10 years and under. Last year s Bunny Hop registered over 600 participants!! Don t miss out on this fun opportunity to support our Wauconda Area Library! THE COURSE: The Bunny Hop 4-mile run is a timed event through a hilly neighborhood around beautiful Bangs Lake. The 2-mile walk/ fun run is a flat course in a neighborhood and around the Wauconda Park District. Both courses will be clearly marked with volunteers strategically placed to cheer you on. The morning s festivities begin at 9:00 a.m. with runners and walkers lining up at the starting line. Once the runners and walkers begin their course, preparations are made for the second half of the morning. The Junior Bunny Hop Mini-Dash will take place, after the race has finished, on the library grounds. After its conclusion, there will be music, prizes, awards and more. The target time for awards is 10:15 a.m. with the event ending at 10:30 a.m. REGISTRATION FORMS are available at the library, Bliss Wine and Gifts and Bulldogs Grill. ONLINE REGISTRATION is available at and raceroster.com. Completed registrations can be turned in at the library, and at both Bliss and Bulldogs. Race time packet pick-up will be held on Friday, April 3rd from 4:30 to 9 p.m. at Bliss Wine and Gifts. Bunny Hop t-shirts will be in your packet if you are one of the first 600 registered. GOALS OF THE BUNNY HOP First and foremost, the Bunny Hop promotes community and physical fitness. The grounds of the library are filled with area residents out to run, walk, or watch. The proceeds from the race are used to benefit the Wauconda Area Library. Thus far, the funds contributed to the purchase price of our library van and the fantastic new electronic sign. The Bunny will be encouraging the crowd to cheer at the finishing line. This year he s bringing back his friend, the Chick, to meet & greet junior bunny attendees. Be sure to bring your cameras because The Bunny and the Chick will be available for pictures. 7
