1 BASES DE INSCRIPCIÓN (english below) LUGAR Y FECHA La temporada número dieciséis de estrenos de cortometrajes, CORTOGENIA 2015, se celebrará entre los meses de enero y diciembre de 2015 en el Cine Capitol de Madrid. CARACTERÍSTICAS DEL FESTIVAL Cortogenia es un festival que se celebra durante todo el año en el cine más grande y emblemático de la ciudad de Madrid (cine Capitol, con casi butacas), con pases cada dos meses y una gala de clausura en diciembre. En cada pase se proyectan SEIS cortometrajes: CINCO de ellos nacionales y UNO internacional en versión original con subtítulos en castellano. CONDICIONES DE INSCRIPCIÓN Podrán participar aquellos productores o realizadores de cualquier nacionalidad que posean los derechos sobre las obras que presentan. Cortogenia 2015 tendrá dos categorías: NACIONAL e INTERNACIONAL. Para los cortometrajes NACIONALES, se aceptarán todas aquellas películas de animación, documental o ficción de imagen real que hayan sido producidas con posterioridad al 30 de junio de 2014, valorando muy positivamente que no se hayan estrenado con anterioridad en España y especialmente en la ciudad de Madrid (a excepción de los exhibidos en la Muestra de cortometrajes de la Comunidad de Madrid). Para los cortometrajes INTERNACIONALES, se aceptarán todas aquellas películas de animación, documental o ficción de imagen real que hayan sido producidas con posterioridad al 1 de enero de La duración de los trabajos presentados no podrá exceder los 60 minutos. Cada autor o productor podrá presentar el número de películas que desee. No podrán participar aquellos cortos que se hayan presentado en ediciones anteriores de Cortogenia. INSCRIPCIÓN La inscripción se realizará a través de la plataforma en la dirección Será necesaria la ficha de inscripción correspondiente y subir el archivo de la película para la pre-selección. Cualquier duda será atendida en la dirección de correo info@cortogenia.es o info@uptofest.com. Las películas que sean seleccionadas podrán ser enviadas en algunos de los siguientes formatos: 35 mm y DCP. 1

2 Plazos de inscripción: Hasta el 30 de septiembre de Importante: el primer pase de Cortogenia se celebrará en el mes de Marzo. Si quieres contar con más opciones para la selección de tu cortometraje, inscribe tu película cuanto antes. SELECCIÓN Un comité de selección formado por profesionales del sector se encargará de seleccionar, entre todas las películas presentadas, aquellas obras que participarán en Cortogenia. La organización del certamen establecerá el orden y la fecha de exhibición de cada película, reservándose el derecho a cambiar la fecha de proyección en función de las necesidades del certamen. Los fallos del comité de selección serán inapelables. El festival reservará 200 localidades por cada cortometraje y 15 asientos para la zona reservada para el pase en el que se proyecte el cortometraje. Todas las películas seleccionadas recibirán dos códigos de regalo para visionar películas en el portal de Video on Demand PAGO POR SELECCIÓN Todos los cortometrajes seleccionados en Cortogenia 2015 recibirán la cantidad de 150. El pago se hará efectivo al término de cada pase competitivo y será necesario presentar factura. PREMIOS Entre todas las películas seleccionadas, los jurados formados por profesionales del medio cinematográfico decidirán la concesión de los siguientes premios oficiales: CORTOMETRAJES INTERNACIONALES MEJOR CORTOMETRAJE INTERNACIONAL CORTOGENIA Dotado con trofeo. CORTOMETRAJES NACIONALES MEJOR CORTOMETRAJE NACIONAL CORTOGENIA 2015, otorgado por la ECAM. El premio estará destinado a la productora del cortometraje ganador, que podrá disponer de los materiales e instalaciones de la ECAM para el rodaje de su próximo proyecto (cortometraje o largometraje). El ganador podrá hacer uso de este premio hasta el 31 de diciembre de (Premio sujeto a las limitaciones propias de la actividad de la ECAM). PREMIO DEL PÚBLICO. Dotado con trofeo. PREMIO A LA MEJOR DIRECCIÓN. Dotado con diploma. PREMIO AL MEJOR GUIÓN. Dotado con diploma. PREMIO A LA MEJOR FOTOGRAFÍA. Dotado con diploma. PREMIO A LA MEJOR DIRECCIÓN DE PRODUCCIÓN, dotado con diploma. PREMIO A LA MEJOR INTERPRETACIÓN MASCULINA, otorgado por Vibook. Dotado con diploma y la producción de un videobook. PREMIO A LA MEJOR INTERPRETACIÓN FEMENINA, otorgado por Vibook. Dotado con diploma y la producción de un videobook. PREMIO A LA MEJOR MÚSICA ORIGINAL. Dotado con diploma. PREMIO AL MEJOR MONTAJE. Dotado con diploma. PREMIO A LA MEJOR DIRECCIÓN ARTÍSTICA. Dotado con diploma. PREMIO AL MEJOR SONIDO, otorgado por Isolé División Sonora. Dotado con diploma y euros en servicios de sonido directo, post-producción, eventos, servicios discográficos, etc para el próximo proyecto audiovisual. PREMIO AL MEJOR VESTUARIO. Dotado con diploma. PREMIO UPTOFEST DE DISTRIBUCIÓN. Consistente en cincuenta bonos (UPs) para la inscripción y envío del cortometraje a cincuenta categorías de festivales nacionales o internacionales. PREMIO AMA a la mejor producción madrileña, dotado con una suscripción anual a la Asociación Madrileña Audiovisual (A.M.A). Podrán optar a este premio las productoras con domicilio social en Madrid. El premio al mejor cortometraje nacional, mejor cortometraje internacional y premio del público podrán recibir cuantía económica en función de los patrocinadores que cierre el festival a lo largo del año. Ninguno de los premios podrá declararse desierto ni otorgarse exaequo. Los fallos del jurado serán inapelables. 2

3 ENVÍO Y DEVOLUCIÓN DE COPIAS Tanto los gastos de envío como de devolución de copias de proyección de las películas seleccionadas correrán por cuenta de los participantes. ACEPTACIÓN DE LAS BASES La participación en Cortogenia implica la aceptación de todos los apartados de las presentes bases, así como la resolución, por parte de la organización, de cualquier problema no previsto en estas. COMPROMISO DE PARTICIPACIÓN La persona que inscribe la obra declara estar autorizada por la empresa productora a prestar la copia de la película y aceptar las normas del certamen. PLACE AND DATE RULES AND REGULATIONS The fifteenth annual festival of short film premieres, CORTOGENIA 2015, will be held between the months of January and December 2015 at the Capitol Cinema in Madrid. CHARACTERISTICS OF THE FESTIVAL The Cortogenia festival runs all year long in the largest and most iconic cinemas in the city of Madrid (the Capitol cinema, with nearly 1,500 seats), with sessions held every two months and a closing ceremony held in December. SIX short films are shown at each session: FIVE Spanish films and ONE international film in the original version with Spanish subtitles. CONDITIONS FOR REGISTRATION Any producer or filmmaker of any nationality who owns the rights to the films being submitted may participate. Cortogenia 2015 will have two categories: NATIONAL SHORT FILMS and INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILMS. For NATIONAL SHORT FILMS all animated films, documentary or live action fiction films produced after June 30, 2014 shall be accepted. Special consideration shall be given to films that have not previously been released in Spain, and in the city of Madrid in particular (except those shown at the Short Film Festival of the Community of Madrid). For INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILMS all animated films, documentary or live action fiction films produced after January 1st, 2013 shall be accepted. The length of the films may not exceed 60 minutes. Each filmmaker or producer may submit as many films desired. Films that have been submitted to previous Cortogenia festivals shall not be admitted. 3

4 REGISTRATION Registration will take place via the website at the address The appropriate registration form and an uploaded file containing the film are required for preselection. Registration deadlines: Until 30 September, IMPORTANT: the first screening of Cortogenia Festival will be next March If you want to have more options to be selected, submitt your short film as soon as possible. SELECTION A selection committee made up of industry professionals will be in charge of selecting the films that will take part in Cortogenia from among all those submitted. The festival staff shall decide on the order and the screening date for each film and reserves the right to change the screening date based on the needs of the competition. The decisions of the selection committee are final. The festival will reserve 200 seats for each short film and 15 seats in the reserved area for the session during which the short film is screened. All selected films will receive two gift codes to watch films using Video on Demand at the website PAYMENT FOR SELECTION All films selected for Cortogenia 2015 shall receive 150 in payment. The payment shall be paid after each session in competition and an invoice must be submitted. AWARDS Juries made up of professionals from the film industry shall choose from all the selected films to award the following official prizes: INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILMS BEST INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM CORTOGENIA To be awarded a trophy. AWARD FOR BEST ORIGINAL SCORE. To be awarded a diploma. AWARD FOR BEST EDITING. To be awarded a diploma. AWARD FOR BEST ARTISTIC DIRECTOR To be awarded a diploma. AWARD FOR BEST SOUND, awarded by Isolé División Sonora. To be awarded a diploma and 3,000 on live sound services, post-production, events, discography services etc., to be used on the next audiovisual project. AWARD FOR BEST WARDROBE. To be awarded a diploma. UPTOFEST DISTRIBUTION AWARD. Made up of fifty vouchers (UPs) to be used to register and send the short film to fifty categories of Spanish and international festivals. 4

5 The award for best Spanish short film, best international short film and the audience award shall receive financial awards according to the sponsors that the festival gets over the course of the year. None of the awards may be declared void or given exaequo. The decisions of the jury are final. SHIPPING AND RETURN OF FILMS The costs of both the shipping and return the screening prints of the selected films shall be borne by the participants. AGREEING TO THE RULES AND REGULATIONS By participating in Cortogenia, you agree to all sections in these rules and regulations, as well as any decision made by the organization with regard to any problem not provided for herein. OBLIGATION FOR PARTICIPATION The person registering the film declares him or herself to be authorized by the production company to provide a print of the film and agrees to the rules of the competition. 5
