It is designed to help your child prepare for the types of lessons and learning experiences that 3 rd grade will present. The creation of this booklet came about when we had to make the tough decision to cancel our annual Benchmark Summer School program due to the conclusion of a grant that funded the program. While we hope to bring back our Benchmark Summer School Program in future years, we hope that this booklet will assist you and your child in preparing for the upcoming school year. A committee of teachers from our schools compiled the lessons based on materials used in our schools, learning standards and classroom resources. This booklet is meant to be completed by the student; however, parental involvement is needed as well. Parents will need to help with instructions, point out errors, and give a bit of encouragement. We recommend students work on the book a few lessons at a time. This booklet contains literacy and mathematics lessons/activities along with calendars to record physical activity, a reading log, fun internet resources and activities for the whole family in the car, at home or playing outdoors. Please also check our for links to additional resources to enhance summer learning opportunities. Está diseñado para ayudarle a su hijo/a preparase para las lecciones y experiencias de aprendizaje que se presentaran en el 3 er grado. La creación de esta libreta se produjo cuando tuvimos que hacer la difícil decisión de cancelar nuestro programa anual de Clases de Verano Benchmark debido a la terminación de una beca que recaudaba el programa. Mientras que esperamos regresar al programa de Clases de Verano Benchmark en el futuro, esperamos que para este verano, esta libreta le ayude a usted y a su hijo preparase para el próximo año escolar. Un comité de maestros de nuestras escuelas reunió las lecciones basadas en materiales que se usan en nuestras escuelas, estándares de aprendizaje y recursos del salón. Esta libreta es para que el estudiante lo complete; sin embargo, la participación del padre también es necesaria. Los padres necesitaran ayudarles a los estudiantes con las instrucciones, dejarles saber los errores, y darles un poco de ánimo. Recomendamos que los estudiantes trabajen en el libro, de pocas lecciones a la vez. Esta libreta contiene lecciones/actividades de literatura y matemáticas junto con un calendario para grabar su actividad física, un diario de lectura, recursos divertidos en la red y actividades para toda la familia en el coche, en casa o jugando afuera etc. Por favor revise nuestro sito en la red al para más recursos que aumentarán las oportunidades del aprendizaje durante el verano.
