Section 2 of this document contains Laguna Verde Controsteam V3 architecture principle diagrams with description of each system part. Section 3 of this document gives ALSPA Controsteam V3 system description with time synchronization signals and characteristics of network types. The internal communication links are described for information. The customer has no direct connection with these networks and cannot change the architecture.

These parts are connected to each other and to Operator and Engineering Workstations through Single Ring of S8 Network. Note: for clock connection details, refer to 2.3 & STG Part (Steam Turbine Governor) The STG Part is based on two MFC3 Controllers to ensure redundancy. This redundant controller has the following interfaces: Ethernet Modbus redundant link to SIIP System. Ethernet Modbus redundant connection used for communication with Turbine Supervisory Instrumentation System. Connection via E8 Network to four CE1 I/O Governor nodes. Four CE1 Governor I/O nodes are connected to MOOG Rack which is responsible for 4 HP Valve positioning Generator s auxiliaries and supervision Part The Generator Part is based on redundant MFC3 Controller. This redundant controller has following interfaces: Ethernet Modbus Link to VIC System trough fiber optic link Ethernet Modbus Link to PAMOS System Ethernet Modbus Link to ALSPA CONTROGEN System (provided by other dept) trough double optical fiber link E8 Network to exchange signals between MFC3 and generator auxiliaries remote I/O located in CTB2 cubicle E8 Network used to communicate with generator measures remote I/O.

10 Departamento EMB-PCS Revisión: 6 Pagina: 1/17 Section 3 System Description 3.1 Time synchronization The V3 ALSPA CONTROSTEAM requires synchronization signals (see Figure 3) for synchronization of data with different systems: 1. NTP signal 2. Top logic synchronization - each MFC3 Cell controller must receive a 5 seconds synchronization pulse from an external master clock For this project, these signals are provided by the master clock Meinberg located in VB Time synchronization NTP The Controsteam V3 needs 1 NTP signal by RJ45 cable. NTP is a protocol to synchronize the clock of a computer with a reference server. NTP is based on UDP / IP: 123 (Internet Protocol-based IP addressing in offline mode with User Datagram Protocol on port 123). The NTP (Network Time Protocol) signal is used to synchronize all present Controlog and MFC3 Cell Controllers on the S8 network. It is in order to obtain accurate time-tagging of the events occurring in the various cells. Synchronization is necessary to ensure the consistency of data managed by the ALSPA CONTROSTEAM V3 system. This signal is connected to the S8 Network via one of the Ethernet switches of S8 Network ring. For these connections, RJ45 Ethernet cables are used Top 5s Synchronization signal Top logic synchronization - each MFC3 Cell controller must receive a 5 seconds synchronization pulse from an external master clock. Then two pulse 5s are necessary for both redundant controllers (STG and Generator parts). The characteristic on the pulse is: TTL pulse (Mode= Cyclic mode, Activation = High, Length =.2 second, time = 5second) The 5 second synchronisation pulse is connected to all MFC3 via the serial port COM2 of the MFC3 CPU module.

The customer has no direct connection with these networks Office Network The communication Office or Site bus is dedicated Ethernet network for data exchange between CONTROLOG and CONTROCAD engineering tool and peripherals such as printers. This communication network links the different stations of a CONTROLOG to the printers and the CONTROCAD engineering station. The office network is available on Controgen system trough optical fiber connection. The Site network is based on Fast Ethernet switched network. Characteristics: Fast Ethernet (1/1 Mbps) copper or fiber optic (if distance> 1m). Protocol: Ethernet UDP & TCP/IP The addresses of the subscribers may be determined by the customer (if connected) S8 Network S8 is a communication bus dedicated to data exchange process between the MFC3 Controllers, Controlog and Controcad stations. Characteristics: Ethernet Power Link (EPL) Technology Fast Ethernet (1 Mbits/s) copper Protocol TCP/IP Redundant medium Deterministic and Real Time bus More than 2 I/O, distributed on 2 Controlled Nodes Cycle time of 5 ms Switch-over time of 2 cycles (i.e. 1ms) Around 9Mbits/s of applicative data
