1 Home-School Connection Dear Family Member: I m reading Flip in class this week. I learned that every story has a plot with a beginning, middle, and an end. This story begins with a girl and her pet dinosaur Flip and the girl brings Flip to class. In the middle of the story, the teacher gets angry because Flip makes a mess. I won t know the plot until I learn what happens at the end. This Week s Skills Comprehension: plot beginning, middle, and end Phonics: l blends Word Workout WORDS TO KNOW good pull down come Tell Me Tell me a story about a pet named Gina. What kind of pet is she? How does she act? You can use these words for your story. SPELLING WORDS flip slip clip flag black plan Add a Word Let s fold a piece of lined paper into five columns. Write bl, cl, fl, pl, and sl at the top of the columns. Write your new spelling words in the right columns. Let s think of other words we could add to the list.
