Busing for Next Year If you plan to use a babysitter or a different address for your child s busing next year, please remember to contact the Special Ed. Department with that information before July 15th to make sure busing is ready for the first day of school. Even if you ll have the same sitter next year as you do this year, a new form has to be filled out. This must be done every year!!!! Included in this newsletter is a copy of the form that should be used for next year. Make sure you use the form for special ed. students. Regular Ed. Busing for Next Year If your regular ed. child will be getting bused next year and you plan to use a babysitter or a different address for pick-up and dropoff, you ll need to fill out an Alternate Transportation Form from the Transportation Dept. Included with this newsletter is a copy of the form. Make sure you use the form for Regular Ed. students. Ed especial. 4 Title I Families: Visit the Title I Parent Center for Resources and Support The Title I Parent Center, located at Red Apple School (914 St. Patrick Street) is an excellent resource for RUSD Title I families. The Title I Parent Center is available through the end of the school year by appointment 9-11:30 am and 2-5:30 pm on the following Wednesdays: May 3, May 10, May 17, May 24, May 31 and June 7. To schedule a free 30 minute parent session to learn tips on how to help your child with homework, study skills and more, please call or text Ale Medina at Walk-ins are also welcome. The Title I Parent Center can provide free reading and math supplies to parents of Title I students. We ask that parents reach out to their child's teacher for suggestions on things you can do at home to support your student prior to visiting the Center. Free materials may include leveled and high interest books, backpacks, school supplies, math cards and games, money skills and shape activities and more. Not sure if your school is Title I - click here for a list of RUSD Title I schools. *All provided materials are based on availability. 5 HELP WANTED Arbor Management, the food service provider for Racine Unified, is looking for very special associates. We are looking for the kind of people who are interested in part time hours on the days that schools are in session and who like to be around children. Shifts vary from 3 to 6 hours per day between 5am and 3pm, Monday through Friday.
