Pérez (414) My Brother s Keeper summit brings resources and services to near south side A My Brother s Keeper neighborhood summit next week will engage residents of the Near South Side Promise Zone with services and resources meant to help improve health and wealth. The event hosted by Alderman José G. Pérez and Mayor Tom Barrett will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 22 at the Kosciuszko Park Recreational Center at 2201 S. 7th St. The summit is free and open to the public. Alderman Pérez is hopeful that Promise Zone (please see map on attached flyer) and area residents will attend and receive help with key life management issues, including child support, driver s license recovery, job training and employment, health information and screenings, and expungement counseling. Residents in the affected near south side area are underserved when it comes to counseling, job opportunities, and health and wellness information that can be beneficial and life-changing, Alderman Pérez said. I invite residents to come to the My Brother s Keeper event Wednesday to engage with us and work toward improving the quality of life in their home and in the area as a whole. The summit is sponsored by the City of Milwaukee, My Brother s Keeper, the Milwaukee Fatherhood Initiative, and the Black Male Achievement Advisory Council. -More-

Cumbre del vecindario El Guardián De Mi Hermano próxima semana participarán residentes de la Zona Promesa cerca del Lado Sur con los servicios y recursos destinados a ayudar a mejorar la salud y el bienestar financiero. El evento - organizado por el Concejal José G. Pérez y el Alcalde Tom Barrett - se llevará a cabo de 10 a.m.-2 p.m. el miércoles 22 de julio en el Centro Recreativo Parque Kosciuszko en 2201 S. 7th St. La Cumbre es gratuita y abierta al público. El Concejal Pérez tiene la esperanza de que la Zona Promesa (por favor ver mapa en volante adjunto) y los residentes del área asistirán y recibirán ayuda con cuestiones clave de gestión de vida, incluyendo la manutención de menores, la recuperación de la licencia de manejo, la capacitación laboral y empleo, información sobre salud y exámenes, y el consejería en la eliminación de antecedentes penales. Los residentes afectados cercanos al área del lado sur son desatendidos cuando se trata de asesoramiento, oportunidades de trabajo, y la información sobre salud y bienestar que puede ser beneficiosa para un cambio de vida, dijo el Concejal Pérez. Invito a los residentes a venir al evento El Guardián De Mi Hermano el miércoles para participar con nosotros y trabajar para mejorar la calidad de vida en su hogar y en toda la zona.
