1 Home-School Connection Dear Family Member: I m reading Kids Have Fun! in class this week I learned that I should think about how things are alike and different. In Kids Have Fun!, one boy plays with a bat. One girl plays with a hoop. The boy and girl are having fun. That s how they re alike. They are also different. Then you can tell me a story about a little girl and boy who like to help. See how many of the words you can use in your story. 2 Same or Different Concentration We re going to compare and contrast by playing Concentration. Here s how: We ll make circles to cover each box. You can take two circles off the board. If your pictures match, take the circles off the board and put an X on a piece of paper. If your pictures do not match, try to remember which picture is in which square. Then put the circles back on the board. Then I ll go and do the same thing. We ll take turns. When there are no more matches, the game is over. Who has the most matches? 224
