Note that Qué disgusto! means How disappointing! It s a false cognate, looking like a familiar English phrase, but having a different meaning. Have students act out the target vocabulary words whenever possible. Help them understand the time(s) used in the stories by using a clock and setting the time according to the narrative of the stories. During the podcast: Be sure to check for student understanding of the story. Pause as needed and ask student (s) to explain what is happening. Clarify any misunderstandings using the script and translation provided for each story following the Teacher Pages. After the podcast: Use the story script provided on the first page of the Student Pages to reread the story, or have students act out the story. Suddenly, Yuri sees a boy. The boy is hungry. Yuri gives him an apple and two bananas. The boy is happy. He gives Yuri a yellow ball and goes away. Then, Yuri sees a girl. The girl is hungry too. Yuri gives her an apple, a banana, and three cookies. The girl is very happy. She gives Yuri an orange butterfly and goes away. Yuri eats a sandwich, the French fries, and an apple, Yuri is happy, and looks at (watches) the children that are playing on the beach. Suddenly, Yuri sees a space ship. An extra-terrestrial walks toward Yuri. The extra-terrestrial says to her, I m hungry! Yuri gives him a sandwich, a banana, and three cookies. The extra-terrestrial smiles at her and says to her, Many thanks. Then the extra-terrestrial gives Yuri a package, and he goes away. Yuri opens the package and shouts, How disappointing!
