3 ARCA ARCA was constituted in Animator and supporting service for: Coordination and technical assistance; organisation of activities; participation and representation at different levels; generate ideas, among others. Interlocutor: Between LAGs & DAAM; between LAGs & Spanish Rural Network (REDR) and between other European and regional networks. ARCA structures its action into 4 axis: 1. Technical support service for LAGs; 2. The communication and dissemination of projects, good practices and methodologies; 3. Ensuring the representation and presence of the Catalan network in other bodies; 4. Participation in rural development and cooperation projects

generate ideas, among others. Interlocutor: Between LAGs & DAAM; between LAGs & Spanish Rural Network (REDR) and between other European and regional networks.

6 Leader strategy Strategy of the Rural Development Programme ( ), including Leader programme: o Development of the economy and life quality in rural areas, by prioritizing the creation and consolidation of employment; o Promote the retention ti of talent, t specially youth talent; t o Improve the management of rural enterprises; o Promote collaborative entrepreneurial formulas; o Increase the valorisation and commercialisation of local food quality products; o Increase the use and implementation of renewable energies and energy efficiency. It is implemented through two kind of projects: o Investment projects: to enterprises and entrepreneurs. o Animation projects: cooperation projects.

7 LAG s structure Catalan LAGs are Associations and Consortiums constituted by 50% public and 50% private organisations. The number of public and private organisations in each LAG are between members. The administrative team of LAGs is between 3-6 workers. Projects granted 100% by competitive tendering (funding 100% from Spanish Ministry of Agriculture) 2009: 11 projects (1 coordinated) 2010: 5 projects (1 coordinated) 2011: 4 projects (1 coordinated) Catalan cooperation: only among Catalan LAGs managed by the Catalan Management authority.
