1 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR PART MITO-01 MITO-01 Mitsubishi amplifier interface INTERFACE COMPONENTS MITO-01 interface MITO-01 harness 14-pin harness with stripped leads and RCA jacks 2-pin harness with stripped leads APPLICATIONS MITSUBISHI Eclipse Endeavour Galant TOOLS REQUIRED Cutting tool Crimping tool Tape Small flat-blade screwdriver Connectors (example: butt-connectors, bell caps, etc.) REV. 7/17/2014 INSTMITO-01 FEATURES Retains the factory amplifier Provides multimedia wires (parking brake, reverse, and speed sense) RCA level input Retains balance and fade Eliminates COM ERROR message on display CAUTION: Metra recommends disconnecting the negative battery terminal before beginning any installation. All accessories, switches, and especially air bag indicator lights must be plugged in before reconnecting the battery or cycling the ignition. 2 MITO-01 Connections to be made From the 14-pin harness to the aftermarket radio: Tape off and disregard the Red wire, it will not be used in this application. Connect the Blue/White wire to the amp turn on wire (this wire must be connected to hear sound from the factory amplifier). Tape off and disregard the Brown wire, it will not be used in this application. Connect the White RCA to the left front output. Connect the Gray RCA to the right front output. Connect the Green RCA to the left rear output. Connect the Purple RCA to the right rear output. Note: If the radio does not have RCA outputs, or only one pair, use a line level convertor (sold separately). Use Axxess part number ALOC648 (4 channel) or ALOC608 (2 channel) for best results. The following wires are for aftermarket multimedia/navigation radios that provide these wires (if not required, tape them off and disregard them): Connect the Light Green wire to the parking brake wire. Connect the Blue/Pink wire to the speed sense/vss wire. Connect the Green/Purple wire to the reverse wire. Note: Reverse wire is not available on manual transmission vehicles. Note: To retain these wires, please follow the steps under: From the 2-pin harness to the vehicle. Plug the 14-pin harness into the MITO-01. From the MITO-01 harness: (a) to the vehicle: Connect the Black wire with a fork connector to chassis ground. (b) to the aftermarket radio: Connect the Black wire to the ground wire. Connect the Yellow wire to the battery wire. Connect the Red wire to the accessory wire. Connect the Blue wire to the power antenna turn-on wire. Connect the Orange wire to the Illumination wire (if the aftermarket radio has no Illumination wire, tape off the Orange wire). Connect the White wire to the left front positive speaker output. Connect the White/Black wire to the left front negative speaker output. Connect the Gray wire to the right front positive speaker output. Connect the Gray/Black wire to the right front negative speaker output. Connect the Green wire to the left rear positive speaker output. Connect the Green/Black wire to the left rear negative speaker output. Connect the Purple wire to the right rear positive speaker output. Connect the Purple/Black wire to the right rear negative speaker output. Connect the 20-pin harness into the MITO-01. Connect the 16-pin and 22-pin harness into the vehicle. 2
3 MITO-01 Connections to be made From the 2-pin harness to the vehicle: If the radio you are installing has navigation built in, the MITO-01 can supply the necessary navigation outputs with some additional wiring. Follow the steps below to connect these wires to the vehicle: Locate the OBD2 connector which is located beneath the driver s side dash panel close to the center console and run the Pink and Blue/Pink wires down to it. Connect the Pink wire to pin-6 of the OBD2 connector. Connect the Blue/Pink wire to pin-14 of the OBD2 connector. Initializing and adjusting the MITO-01 Initialize the interface by turning the ignition on for 30 seconds, then turn the ignition back off, and on again. If the subwoofer, or front door woofers are too loud, or not loud enough, you can adjust the output by following the steps below: 1) Locate the end of the MITO-01 with the 14-pin harness with stripped leads and RCA jacks. 2) Using a small flat-blade screwdriver, turn the gain knob clockwise to make it louder, or counterclockwise to make it lower. 6 MITO-01 Conexiones que se deben hacer Del arnés de 14 pins al radio de mercado secundario: Encinte e ignore el cable rojo, no se utilizará en esta aplicación. Conecte el cable azul/blanco al cable de encendido del amplificador (este cable debe estar conectado para escuchar sonido del amplificador de fábrica). Encinte e ignore el cable marrón, no se utilizará en esta aplicación. Conecte el conector RCA blanco con la salida frontal izquierda. Conecte el conector RCA gris con la salida frontal derecha. Conecte el conector RCA verde con la salida trasera izquierda. Conecte el conector RCA púrpura con la salida trasera derecha. Nota: Si el radio no tiene salidas RCA, o únicamente tiene un par, use un convertidor de nivel de línea (se vende por separado). Use el número de parte Axxess ALOC648 (4 canales) o ALOC608 (2 canales) para mejores resultados. Los siguientes cables son para radios de mercado secundario con multimedios/ navegación que tienen estos cables (si no se requieren, encíntelos e ignórelos): Conecte el cable verde claro al cable de freno de mano. Conecte el cable azul/rosa al sensor de velocidad/cable VSS. Conecte el cable verde/púrpura al cable de reversa. Nota: El cable de reversa no está disponible en vehículos de transmisión manual. Nota: Para retener estos cables, siga los pasos de: Desde el arnés de 2 pins al vehículo. Conecte el arnés de 14 pins al MITO-01. Desde el arnés MITO-01: (a) al vehículo: Conecte el cable negro con un conector de horquilla a la tierra del chasís.. (b) al radio de mercado secundario: Conecte el cable negro con el cable de tierra. Conecte el cable amarillo con el cable de la batería. Conecte el cable rojo con el cable de accesorios. Conecte el cable azul con el cable de encendido de la antena. Conecte el cable anaranjado con el cable de iluminación (si el radio de mercado secundario no tiene cable de iluminación, encíntelo al cable anaranjado). Conecte el cable blanco con la salida de la bocina positiva frontal izquierda. Conecte el cable blanco/negro con la salida de la bocina negativa frontal izquierda. Conecte el cable gris con la salida de la bocina positiva frontal derecha. Conecte el cable gris/negro con la salida de la bocina negativa frontal derecha. Conecte el cable verde con la salida de la bocina positiva izquierda de atrás. Conecte el cable verde/negro con la salida de la bocina negativa izquierda de atrás. Conecte el cable púrpura con la salida de la bocina positiva derecha de atrás. Conecte el cable púrpura/negro con la salida de la bocina negativa derecha de atrás. Conecte el arnés de 20 pins en el MITO-01. Conecte el arnés de 16 y 22 pins en el vehículo. 2
7 MITO-01 Conexiones que se deben hacer Desde el arnés de 2 pins al vehículo: Si el radio que está instalando tiene navegación integrada, el MITO-01 puede suministrar las salidas de navegación necesarias con algo de cableado adicional. Siga los pasos que se presentan a continuación para conectar estos cables al vehículo: Localice el conector OBD2 que se localiza debajo del panel del tablero del lado del conductor, cerca de la consola central y corra los cables rosa y rosa/azul hacia el mismo. Conecte el cable rosa al pin 6 del conector OBD2. Conecte el cable azul/rosa al pin 14 del conector OBD2. Para inicializar y ajustar el MITO-01 Para inicializar la interfase, encienda la marcha y espere 30 segundos, luego vuelva a apagar la ignición, y enciéndala una vez más.
