P a g e 1 Hola y bienvenidos de nuevo a English with Kristina! Hi and welcome back to English with Kristina! Tenemos solamente uno y se dice TO BE. Listen and repeat. Vamos a escuchar la conjugación en el presente: Ser..To be Estar...To be I am You are He is She is It is We are They are English Español Yo soy o yo estoy Tú estás o tú eres Él está o él es Ella está o ella es Está o es Nosotros estamos o somos Ellos o ellas están o son Notas: *El verbo to be es un verbo irregular. *Cuando uno dice it is en inglés, it es un pronombre de sujeto que refiere a algo que no sea una persona (el carro, la casa, etc.). Como todos los pronombres en inglés, siempre es necesario decir it antes del verbo para poder diferenciar entre he, she, e it. (For example: It is red Es rojo [refiriéndose a una cosa, no una persona]) Escucha y repite. Listen and repeat. English I am at the library. You are smart. He is funny. She is with me. It is raining. We are from Colombia. They are good workers.
La forma de la contracción para el verbo to be es quitar el espacio entre el pronombre (I, you, he, she, it, we, they) y el verbo (am, are, is). Listen and repeat. Examples, o ejemplos: Yo soy I am I m Tu eres/ud. es/vosotros sois You are You re Él es He is He s Ella es She is She s Es It is It s Nosotros somos We are We re Ellos/ellas son They are They re Sentences, o frases: Yo estoy en casa. I am at home. I m at home. Tu eres/ud. es de Venezuela. You are from Venezuela. You re from Venezuela. Él es americano. He is American. He s American. Ella es simpática. She is nice. She s nice. Es rojo. It is red. It s red. Nosotros somos familia. We are family. We re family. Ellos/ellas son felices. They are happy. They re happy. I m, you re, he s, she s, it s, we re, they re).
Listen and repeat. Yo no soy, o I am not I m not Yo no estoy Tú no eres, o Tú no estás You are not You re not, o You aren t Él no es, o Él no está Ella no es, o Ella no está No es, o No está Nosotros no somos, o No estamos Ellos/ellas no son, o No están He is not She is not It is not We are not They are not He s not, o He isn t She s not, o She isn t It s not, o It isn t We re not, o We aren t They re not, o They aren t
I am not at home. I m not at home. Tú no eres de Venezuela. You are not from Venezuela. You re not from Venezuela. You aren t from Venezuela. Él no es americano. He is not American. He s not American. He isn t American. Ella no es simpática. She is not nice. She s not nice. She isn t nice. No es rojo. It is not red. It s not red. It isn t red. Nosotros no somos familia. We are not family. We re not family. We aren t family Ellos/ellas no son felices. They are not happy. They re not happy. They aren t happy.
P a g e 5 Answer the questions in English. Por ejemplo: I m at home. I m at school. I m at work, etc. 2. Describe tu personalidad. Empieza tu respuesta y dime si eres simpático (nice), amable (friendly), inteligente (smart), trabajador (a hard worker), antisocial (antisocial), tranquilo (calm), lazy (flojo), agresivo (aggressive), o feliz (happy). Puedes decir más que uno. Por ejemplo: I m happy, calm, and a hard worker. 3. Por ejemplo: My wife is calm and happy. My daughter is friendly and smart. My father is a hard worker. My brother is happy and lazy. My husband is nice and happy. 4. De dónde eres? Por ejemplo: I m from Spain. 5. Cómo está el tiempo? Hace sol (it s sunny), está lloviendo (it s raining), hace viento (it s windy), hay una tormenta (there s a storm), o está nublado (it s cloudy)? It s sunny. It s raining. It s windy. There s a storm. It s cloudy. Bien hecho! Well done! See you soon!
