3 STEM CHANGE VERBS II We ve already learned that some infinitiv require chang to the stem (raíz) of the verb when they are conjugated, and that the verbs are called stem change verbs. There is an added step in the conjugation of stem change verbs: 1. Take off the ar/-er/-ir ending 2. Change the stem (this is the added step) 3. Add the correct prent tense ending We have already learned about E IE stem change verbs. Four E IE verbs are pensar, empezar, preferir, and querer. Now, we re going to learn about O UE stem change verbs.
