Learning intentions Express your morning routine (before school) Before school Antes del instituto + action Example : Antes del instituto me levanto y después me visto. Tips : watch out for the reflexive pronoun with reflexive verbs (me / sie etc). Tips: use después to say then + another action. Tips : Remember in Spanish you do not need to specify who is doing the action with a subject pronoun (yo / él) Express what you do in your free time (sports and hobbies) After school instituto + action Example : Después del instituto hablo con mis amigos. Me gusta hablar con mis amigos porque es bueno.
5 Negative example : Después del instituto no juego al tenis y nunca juego al rugby. Tips : add y meaning and to extend your sentences. Tips: use the negative (no) or nunca (never) in Spanish to say what you do not do. Tips: Add in likes / dislikes but remember to use the infinitive! Express what someone else does in their free time (sports and hobbies) After school instituto + action Example : Después del instituto mi hermano habla con sus amigos. Negative example : Después del instituto mi amiga no juega a las cartas. Tips : remember Tips : Remember to change to invert the verb the ending verb and to the subject 3 rd person pronoun (he/she) if you ending use in der Tips : Schule use pero first. (but), (In der sin Schule embargo mag (however) ich.) and también (also) to link your sentences. To justify responses to say why you do that hobby Sentence starter + action + reason Example : Después del instituto hablo con mis amigos porque es divertido. OR Me gusta hablar con mis amigos porque es divertido. Tips: Use words such as muy meaning very or un poco meaning a bit. Tips: Remember no agreement is needed on the adjective here. Tips: Use a variety of adjectives look up your own on wordreference.com to really impress! To say where you do that hobby Sentence starter + action + place (including preposition) + reason Example : Después del instituto hablo con mis amigos a mi casa porque es divertido.
6 Tips: Use the correct preposition. Tips: Vary where the places that you use! Key words to help improve the quality of your sentences: pero y Después Sin embargo but and then however Revision tips: KEY STRATEGY Strategy 1: Strategy 2: WRITE OUT + PRACTICE SPELLINGS! This is the key to all your learning! Practise writing out a sentence. Use look, cover, check to see if you can rewrite it perfectly. Highlight mistakes and rewrite until it is correct! Put post it notes with a sentence on each in different areas of your room. When memorizing the sentence, picture the object where the post it note is.
