3 INSTRUCCIONES DE SEGURIDAD Cuando use aplicaciones eléctricas debe seguir indicaciones de seguridad básicas, incluidas las siguientes: Lea todas las instrucciones detenidamente. No use esta unidad con un propósito diferente que para el que fue diseñada. No opere la unidad con el cable de energía ó el enchufe dañado. Remita toda reparación a personal de servicio técnico calificado. Para evitar choques eléctricos, no sumerja el cable de energía o la unidad en agua o en cualquier otro liquido. Evite tener contacto con la placa calefactora o las superficies calientes de la unidad, ya que se pueden producir quemaduras. No deje la unidad desatendida mientras este en uso. Supervise la unidad de cerca cuando la use cerca de niños. No permita que el cable de energía quede colgando del borde de la mesa o que toque superficies calientes. No derrame agua o café sobre la placa calefactora o cualquier otra parte de la unidad. Desconecte la unidad del tomacorriente después de cada uso y antes de realizarle la limpieza. El uso de accesorios no recomendados por el fabricante puede generar daños en la unidad. No use esta unidad en exteriores. No coloque la unidad cerca de fuentes de calor, tales como estufas a gas, quemadores eléctricos o hornos. Esta unidad no ha sido diseñada para ser usada por niños o personas con capacidades físicas, mentales ó sensoriales reducidas ó con falta de experiencia, a menos que estén siendo supervisadas por una persona adulta responsable de su seguridad. Guarde este manual de instrucciones para futuras referencias. Voltaje: Asegúrese que el voltaje marcado en la unidad coincide con el voltaje del área antes de conectarla al tomacorriente. INFORMACIÓN GENERAL Esta unidad tiene la capacidad de preparar 1,2 litros de café, por lo tanto, usted puede preparar desde 2 hasta 12 tazas de café rápidamente. Puede usar los conocidos filtros de papel desechables ó el filtro permanente especial suministrado con la unidad. Si desea usar los filtros desechables, es recomendable que los coloque en el filtro permanente. Filtro de papel de tamaño: 1x2. La unidad cuenta con una placa calefactora que le permite mantener su café caliente después de la preparación. P-2

Jarra de cristal ANTES DE USAR LA UNIDAD Desconecte la unidad antes de realizarle la limpieza. Lave la jarra, canasta, y tapa en agua caliente y jabón suave. Luego enjuague y seque completamente. Para limpiar la parte interior de la unidad, ponga a hervir 2 jarras de agua de la canilla. No agregue granos de café en el filtro. Arroje el agua repita el proceso una vez mas. (Remítase a la sección Hervir Agua ) HERVIR AGUA 1. Use la jarra para verter agua en el tanque de agua. Agregue el agua en el tanque de acuerdo al numero de tazas que desea preparar. 2. Coloque la jarra con la cubierta en la placa calefactora. Coloque el filtro de papel en la canasta. Agregue una cucharada de café por cada taza que desee preparar. 3. Conecte la unidad y enciéndala. 4. Cuando el café haya hervido, puede dejar la jarra sobre la placa calefactora hasta que desee servirlo. Para mantener el café caliente, coloque la jarra nuevamente en la placa calefactora después de servirlo. El café permanecerá caliente por al menos 2 horas. Notas: Espere hasta que el café haya hervido para retirar la jarra y el filtro. Cuando usa agua filtrada, el sabor del café será mucho mejor, especialmente en áreas donde el agua es muy pesada. Si encuentra residuos de granos de café en el café hervido, use granos de café menos fino. LIMPIEZA Asegúrese que la unidad esta apagada y desconectada del tomacorriente. Remueva el filtro de la unidad Deseche el filtro de papel ó vacié el filtro permanente La jarra, la tapa, el filtro y el soporte del filtro pueden ser lavados con agua tibia jabonosa. Enjuague y seque. Limpie la unidad con un paño ligeramente humedecido y séquela completamente. Nunca use esponjas abrasivas para limpiarla, ya que pueden dañar ó decolorar el acabado de la unidad. 5 DESCALCIFICAR LA UNIDAD Descalcifique la unidad cada 2 meses para prevenir obstrucciones. Si el agua en su área es muy pesada, descalcifíquela cada mes. Cuando la unidad necesita ser limpiada, hace mucho ruido ó necesita mas tiempo del habitual para preparar el café. Use un buen producto descalcificante, diseñado especialmente para este propósito. Siga atentamente los siguientes pasos para descalcificar la unidad: 1. Encienda la unidad y permita que toda la solución descalcificante gotee del tanque a la jarra (Sin el filtro permanente colocado). 2. Bote el liquido y lave la jarra con agua. 3. Luego, enjuague la unidad llenando el tanque de agua con agua limpia y fría y permita que la unidad funcione dos veces solo con agua. 9 INSTRUCTION MANUAL COFFEE MAKER IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS 1. When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following. 2. Read all instructions. 3. Do not use coffeemaker for other than intended use. 4. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner. Return the appliance to an authorised service facility for examination, repair, or adjustment. 5. To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse cord, plug, or coffeemaker in water or any other liquid. 6. Avoid contact with the warming plate or the hot surface of the carafe. Take also care not to come in contact with the hot steam. 7. Do not leave the appliance switched on unattended. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children. 8. Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter or touch hot surfaces. 9. Do not spill water or coffee over the warming plate or any other part of the coffeemaker. 10. Unplug from outlet when coffeemaker is not in use and before cleaning the coffeemaker. 11. The use of an accessory not evaluated for use with this coffeemaker may cause hazards. 12. Do not use outdoors. 13. Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner or in a heated oven. 14. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capacities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. 15. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance. SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY VOLTAGE Make sure the voltage on the specification plate of the coffeemaker corresponds to the voltage in your house before plugging in the coffeemaker. GENERAL INFORMATION This new coffeemaker has a capacity of 1,2 litres so you can make quickly and easily 2 to 12 cups of coffee. You can use the well-known paper disposable filters or the special permanent filter delivered with this coffeemaker If you use disposable filters it is recommended that you place them in the permanent filter. Paper filter size: 1 x 2. The appliance has a warming plate to keep your coffee warm after brewing. P-2

Glass carafe BEFORE FIRST USE First unplug the coffeemaker before cleaning. Wash carafe, basket, and serving lid in hot, sudsy water. Rinse and dry. To thoroughly clean the inside of your new coffeemaker, brew 2 carafes of tap water. See section "How to brew coffee". Do not add coffee grounds to basket. Throw the water away and clean with second carafe of water. HOW TO BREW COFFEE 1. Use carafe to pour water into water tank; add water to the water fill line on the carafe for the number of cups of coffee desired. 2. Place the carafe with the cover on the warming plate. Place paper filter in basket. Add 1 level tablespoon of drip or regular grind coffee to basket for each cup of coffee desired. 3. Plug in the coffeemaker and switch control to ON. 4. When the coffee is brewed, you can leave the coffee on the hot plate until you want to serve it. To keep coffee hot, return carafe to the hot plate after serving. The coffee will be warm for at least 2 hours. REMARKS: Wait with turning the filter and taking away the carafe until brewing has stopped. When you use filtered water, scale is formed less quickly, and the taste will be better, especially in areas where the water is very hard. If you find coffee grains in your brewed coffee, use a less finely grind of coffee. CLEANING 1. Make sure coffeemaker is switched off and unplugged. 2. Turn the filter and remove it from the coffeemaker. 3. Throw the paper filter away or empty the permanent filter. 4. The carafe, serving lid, filter and filter holder can be washed in hot sudsy water. Rinse and dry. 5. Wipe coffeemaker base with a soft slightly damp cloth and dry. Never use abrasive scouring pads or cleaners as they will scratch and/or discolour the finish. P-3

11 DECALCIFYING You should decalcify your coffeemaker every two months to prevent it from clogging. If the water in your area is especially hard, decalcify it once a month. When the coffeemaker has to be cleaned you can (a) hear the coffeemaker makes a lot of noise and (b) the coffeemaker needs more time. Use a good decalcifying product that is specially made for this use. Follow the instructions exactly. Switch control to ON and let all the decalcifying solution (without using the permanent filter) to drip from the reservoir into the carafe. Throw the liquid away and clean the carafe with water. Then rinse the coffeemaker by filling the water tank with a carafe of clean cold water and letting the machine operate twice with only water.
