Sometimes the direct object is implied, such as with the verbs hablar and escribir. The indirect object is usually a person, and it always needs an a in front of it. The indirect object receives the direct object in a sentence. Indirect object pronouns are placed before the conjugated verb. The indirect object pronouns le and les are used even when the indirect object is still stated in the sentence. le = to/for him, her, you formal les = to/for them, you all EX: Yo le doy dinero a Pedro.
