FUNCTIONS GRAMMAR VOCABULARY Symptoms Giving advice for Present simple Medicine health problems. infinitive Illnesses SECUENCIA DIDÁCTICA INICIO (15 minutos) El docente ingresa al aula saludando: Good morning, students. El docente comenta a los estudiantes que leyó un artículo interesante acerca de la salud; en el que se menciona que las enfermedades están relacionadas con el estrés. El docente pregunta a los estudiantes: What factor caused the stress? (work, studies, money, smoking) Do you think laughter is a good remedy for the stress? (yes!) What else can be? (Do sports, be positive, love your family, etc.) Do you think it is important for people to practice sports, be positive, etc.? (yes!) El docente pregunta a los estudiantes por el tema de la sesión: Healthy tips. DESARROLLO (55 minutos) El docente pide a los alumnos que repitan las actividades que ayudan a no sufrir de estrés y las escribe en la pizarra. El docente entrega la lectura (ver recurso 1) para que comparen sus respuestas con las del texto.

3 Verifican cuántas coinciden. Se permite que el alumno lea el texto para responder a dos preguntas que el docente escribirá en la pizarra: How many tips is he giving? (5) Can you name them? (cry, laugh all the time, anger is a killer, smile a lot, put a reason in life) El docente pide a los alumnos que lean nuevamente el texto para resolver la ficha de aplicación. Él monitorea el trabajo, luego lo revisan juntos. Pide a los estudiantes que se agrupen y agreguen más ideas al organizador, tales como remedios, deportes, etc. Se completa el cuadro en grupos. El docente les entregará a los alumnos papelotes para que creen un organizador grupal personalizado. El docente monitorea el trabajo. CIERRE (20 minutos) Los alumnos presentaran las ideas entendidas del texto con ayuda de su papelote. El docente provee retroalimentación si es necesaria. Metacognición: El docente y los estudiantes responden estas preguntas: o Do you usually take medicine without asking the doctor? Is it good? Why? o Which way to cure is better natural or medicine? 4 SECCIÓN RECURSOS Recurso 1. Lectura Be healthy with no medicine At least 9 out of 10 illnesses are caused by stress, pressure and anxiety. It is because we respond to problems that can produce many symptoms of illness. But our minds can make us feel better and help us to stay healthy. There are a number of ways to improve your health: 1. Laugh all the time. Laughter is a positive, natural phenomenon which helps with respiration, blood pressure and the heart. 2. If you feel sad, cry. Tears provide an important stress relief. If you don t cry, you increase the stress. 3. Anger is a killer. Uncontrolled anger causes heart diseases. Find a positive way to release it, such as physical exercise or talking about your problems. 4. Smile a lot. If people see you smiling, then they ll smile back at you. They ll like you, too. 5. Put a reason in life. You ll give yourself new powers to combat the stresses associated with frustrations, boredom and pressure. Adapted from
