1 Español para Conversacion Diaria > Nivel Blanco Capítulo 12: Speaking about Different Activities that You Are Doing Right Now. I am studying estoy estudiando Present progressive i.e. Estoy almorzando con mis amigos en este momento. Explicación - Tarea - Actividades Explicación: (leer en casa, antes de la clase) The -ando/iendo form in Spanish corresponds to the ing form in English when used with the action "Estar". In this form,... the actions that end in -ar... the actions that end in -er/-ir will now end in -ando instead of AR.... will now end in -iendo instead of ER or IR. It will be used like this... persona estar action word yo tú el/ella nosotros ustedes ellos/ellas estoy estás está estamos están están estudiando (comes from estudiar) comiendo (comes from comer) saliendo (comes from salir) Examples: Persona Auxiliar Main action Time eating comiendo now ahora. I yo am estoy studying estudiando right now. ahora mismo.
2 living in DC viviendo en DC in this moment. en este momento. In cases where AM/IS/ARE (verb To be) is not used in front of the -ing form, it would be best to just use the form -ar, -er, -ir as a translation. Cooking is my passion. Going to parties is fun. I enjoy reading. Cocinar es mi pasion. Ir a fiestas es divertido. Disfruto leer. Irregular verbs (recommended for orange belt): To form the -iendo form of -ir/-er irregular verbs, change e to i or o to u in the stem, and then add -iendo to the stem of the verb. e to i servir: sirviendo pedir: pidiendo decir: diciendo o to u dormir: durmiendo morir: muriendo poder: pudiendo -Er and -ir verbs whose stem ends in a vowel use the new ending " yendo" and not " iendo" to form the -iendo form. caer: cayendo oír: oyendo creer: creyendo traer: trayendo huir: huyendo leer: leyendo influir: influyendo
3 Exceptions: seguir: siguiendo (does not use yendo) ir: yendo (uses yendo despite not having a stem) Tarea: (en casa) 1. Write sentences describing what different professionals are doing right now. You can refer to Chapter 2 for a list of professions as reference. 2. Study vocabulary: rutina diaria (cinturón blanco). Actividades: (en clase) 1. Read the sentences that you wrote for homework. 2. Habla de eventos en progreso 3. Answer using full sentences Qué están haciendo estas personas?. 4. Talk about Qué están haciendo tus familiares ahora? Use rutina diaria as reference. 5.
