1 Year 1 Monthly Objectives April th April (4 days) 15 th April Trip to El Plà This week we will be learning about: Theme Spring - Growing Literacy Weekend News. Review of all blends, and HFW s Independent writing and reading. Alphabet We will be doing lots of activities including: Activities to revise blends and practice all HFW s. Writing and Reading. Assessment in Busy Books. Begin to learn the alphabet, and how to form the letters. Vocabulary and/or concepts that we can practice at home: Help your child learn the spellings and meanings of the week. Numeracy Symmetry. Mental maths. Science Growing Plants and trees make fruit and vegetables. Topic/PSHE Dangers of sugar to teeth and body. Geography Italy Barnaby Bear travels to Italy. Logging on/off. Activities to support learning. Use of mirrors to understand and practice symmetry. Mental practice of basic calculations. Assessment in Busy Books. Understanding where fruit and vegetable come from and how they grow. Class discussion. How dangerous can sugar be to our teeth and body? Spotting Italy on the globe. Talk about the language, food, cultural facts and landmarks. Practice easy mental sums with your child. Talk about where the most common vegetable and fruit come from.
