Los casquillos de agujas pueden soportar altas cargas y alcanzar velocidades de rotación muy elevadas. Se montan forzándolos en el orificio de alojamiento, sin una ulterior fijación axial; gracias a la jaula las agujas son guiadas con extrema precisión. Los casquillos de agujas se pueden montar sin aro interior IR. En este caso el eje cumple la función de camino de rodadura (siempre y cuando el mismo cuente con una dureza comprendida entre los 64 HRC y los 5 HRC como mínimo), logrando así la máxima capacidad de carga. Si se desea contar con aro interior IR será necesario requerirlo. Los casquillos de agujas se podrán suministrar con o sin fondo y sin lubricante, ya que se emplea antes del montaje solamente un conservante: generalmente se eligen los tipos con fondo cuando se desea cerrar el eje en uno de sus extremos. Los casquillos de agujas se pueden también suministrar, bajo demanda, con obturaciones, ofreciendo así una mayor protección contra los agentes externos y manteniendo un poder lubricante más elevado, pero, en este caso, será necesario respetar un intervalo de temperaturas entre 0 C. y +0 C. Tolerancias Controlar las tolerancias de los casquillos de agujas antes de su montaje resulta bastante complicado, ya que, por razones constructivas, el aro exterior puede presentar leves variaciones dimensionales. Se aconseja por lo tanto utilizar anillos de control en los cuales forzar los casquillos de agujas o bien un calibre centrador. Los valores admitidos se especifican en la siguiente tabla. Tolerances Before mounting, it results a bit difficult to check drawn cup needle roller bearings tolerances, as caused by constructive reasons, outer ring can have small differences from original dimensions.
