Brazil is the Pan American Champion Brazil won the gold medal after defeating Cuba 3-1 (-11, 24-26, -18, -19) at the Pan American Games men s volleyball tournament on Saturday night. The Brazilian team claimed the crown after 1 hour and 32 minutes in a final match that resulted as expected by the fans and also predicted by coaches Orlando Samuels of Cuba and Rubinho Leonaldo of Brazil. Wallace De Souza tallied 21 points while Luiz Fonteles finished with 15 for the Brazilian team. Fernando Hernandez Ramos scored 18 for Cuba and Wilfredo Leon finished with 10. Argentina claims bronze medal, Mexico fourth. Argentina clinched the bronze medal after defeating the host, Mexico in five sets (-18, 22-, 20-, - 22, 15-13). The South American team, coached by Javier Weber, played a total of 30 sets during the competition to reach the podium. Mariano Giustiniano scored 22 points while Sebastian Sole registered 17 and Federico Pereyra finished with 16.Mexican captain Ivan Contreras was the leading scorer of this match with 23 tallies, while Tomas Aguilera finished with 16.
