Have you discovered anything, anywhere (reading, a message, songs, a study) which will help you to be a better follower of Jesus? 4. Has there been a time when, through some word or action, you tried to help someone recognize Jesus love for them? 5. Has there been a time where it has been difficult to show Jesus love for another person? 6. Are there things you are thankful for (situations or struggles) that we can pray about together? 7. JESUS CALLED ME FRIEND (John 15: 14-17) 14 You are my friends, if you do the things that I command you. 15 I will not now call you servants: for the servant know not what his lord doth. But I have called you friends: because all things whatsoever I have heard of my Father, I have made known to you. 16 You have not chosen me: but I have chosen you; and have appointed you, that you should go, and should bring forth fruit; and your fruit should remain: that whatsoever you shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you. 17 These things I command you, that you love one another. YOU ARE THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD (Mathew 5:13-16) 13 You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its savor, wherewith shall it be salted? ALL: I offer all the prayers, works, joys, and problems of this day to the Father, through the Son, my Lord and Brother, in union with the Holy Spirit, I unite myself and prayer with all Christians throughout the world. May the people of God witness the Good News of Jesus Christ in all places, at all times, today and forever? Amen. Leader: O God, come to my assistance. All: O Lord, make haste to help me. MORNING PRAYER (Group Prayer) LEADER: Lord, open our lips. ALL: And our month shall proclaim your praise. Night has passed to another day as we pray to the Lord of Lords. That we may know peace of mind and body through his love and mercy. To the beginning of this day you have brought us, O Lord Almighty. Preserve us now by your power so that today we may not fall into any sin. We pray that all our words, thoughts and acts become part of your holy plan. This we ask of you, through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, forever. SERVING THE LORD If you re serving because there is no one else doing it, that s WORK. When you re serving because you want to serve the Lord, that s MINISTRY. If you re serving while it doesn t interfere with your personal things, that s WORK. When you re compromise to serve, even when it is interfering with your things, that s MINISTRY. If you drop what you were doing because someone criticized it, that s WORK. When you continue you service not worried about the criticism, that s MINISTRY. If you drop what you were doing because no one is grateful and don t appreciates your service, that s WORK. When you serve not worried if others won t appreciate your effort, that s MINISTRY. If you serve because someone said it had to be done, that s WORK. A Great Church filled with love will be filled with servants committed to MINISTRY. CHRIST IS COUNITING ON YOU! 10

PRAYER FOR THE SEVEN GIFT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT O Lord Jesus Christ who, before ascending into heaven did promise to send the Holy Spirit to finish your work in the souls of your Apostles and disciples, deign to grant the same Holy Spirit to me that He may perfect in my soul, the work of your grace and your love. Grant me the Spirit of Wisdom that I may despise the perishable things of this world and aspire only after the things that are eternal, the Spirit of Understanding to enlighten my mind with the light of your divine truth, the Spirit on Counsel that I may ever choose the surest way of pleasing God and gaining heaven, the Spirit of Fortitude that I may bear my cross with you and that I may overcome with courage all the obstacles that oppose my salvation, the Spirit of Knowledge that I may know God and know myself and grow perfect in the science of the saints, the Spirit of Piety that I may find the service of God sweet and amiable, and the Spirit of Fear that I may be filled with a loving reverence towards God and may dread in any way to displease Him. Mark me, dear Lord with the sign of your true disciples, and animate me in all things with Your Spirit. Amen. ORACIÓN POR LOS 7 DONES DEL ESPÍRITU SANTO Oh, Señor Jesucristo, que antes de ascender al cielo prometiste enviar al Espíritu Santo para completar tu obra en las almas de tus Apóstoles y discípulos, dígnate concederme el mismo Espíritu Santo para que Él perfeccione en mi alma el trabajo de tu gracia y tu amor. Concédeme el Espíritu de Sabiduría para que yo pueda despreciar las cosas perecederas de este mundo y aspirar sólo las cosas que son eternas, el Espíritu de Entendimiento para iluminar mi mente con la luz de tu verdad divina, el Espíritu de Consejo para que pueda siempre escoger el camino más seguro para agradar a Dios y ganar el Cielo, el Espíritu de Fortaleza para que pueda llevar mi cruz contigo y vencer con coraje todos los obstáculos que se opongan a mi salvación, el Espíritu de Conocimiento para que pueda conocer a Dios y conocerme a mí mismo y crecer perfectamente en la ciencia de los santos, el Espíritu de Piedad para que pueda encontrar el servicio a Dios dulce y amable, y el Espíritu de Temor de Dios para llenarme de reverencia hacia Dios y que pueda temer de cualquier modo de complacerlo. CHRIST'S SERMON UPON THE MOUNT The Eight Beatitudes. (Mathew 5:1-12) 1 And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain, and when he was set down, his disciples came unto him. 2 And opening his mouth, he taught them, saying: 3 "Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 4 Blessed are the meek: for they shall possess the land. 5 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. 6 Blessed are they that hunger and thirst after justice: for they shall have their fill. 7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. 8 Blessed are the clean of heart: for they shall see God. 9 Blesses are the peacemakers: for they shall be called children of God. 10 Blessed are they that suffer persecution for justice' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11 Blessed are ye when they shall revile you, and persecute you, and speak all that is evil against you, untruly, for my sake: 12 Be glad and rejoice, for your reward is very great in heaven. For so they persecuted the prophets that were before you. PRAYER TO SURRENDER My Lord and my God, I surrender in your will and your living one day at the time; enjoying one moment at a time; accepting hardship as the pathway to peace; taking this sinful world as it is, just like Jesus did, and not as I would have it; trusting that you will make all things right. I surrender to your will; that I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with you forever in the next. In Jesus name, Amen. 13

EL SERMÓN DE JESUS EN LA MONTAÑA Las Ochos Bienaventuranzas (Mateo 5:1-12) 1 Jesús, al ver toda aquella muchedumbre, subió al monte. Se sentó y sus discípulos se reunieron a su alrededor. 2 Entonces comenzó a hablar y les enseñaba diciendo 3 Felices los que tienen el espíritu del pobre, porque de ellos es el Reino de los Cielos. 4 Felices los que lloran, porque recibirán consuelo. 5 Felices los pacientes, porque recibirán la tierra en herencia. 6 Felices los que tienen hambre y sed de justicia, porque serán saciados. 7 Felices los compasivos, porque obtendrán misericordia. 8 Felices los de corazón limpio, porque verán a Dios. 9 Felices los que trabajan por la paz, porque serán reconocidos como hijos de Dios. 10 Felices los que son perseguidos por causa del bien, porque de ellos es el Reino de los Cielos. 11 Felices ustedes, cuando por cau sa mía los insulten, los persigan y les levanten toda clase de calumnias. 12 Alégrense y muéstrense contentos, porque será grande la recompensa que recibirán en el cielo. ORACIÓN DE ENTREGA Mi Señor y mi Dios, Me entrego a tu voluntad y a tu día para vivir cada día, gozando cada momento, aceptando las penurias como el camino a la paz; aceptando este mundo pecaminoso tal como lo ha hecho Jesús, y no como lo hubiera hecho yo; confiando que Tu obraras en la verdad. PRAYING TO JESUS MY SAVIOR Crucified Jesus, some of your last words were to a thief. You assured Dismas of a place in Heaven this very day because he readily confessed his guilt and true sorrow for his sins. As he hug beside you, the direct thrust of his love and repentance opened your heart in mercy and forgiveness, even before the centurion s spear opened it with its iron point. His were the only words of comfort you were to hear that afternoon. May I learn from him whose prayer touched you and gain such a reward, the words and sentiments that will gain me pardon and the grace of perseverance. Grant that I may be as close to you daily as Dismas was on that eventful day, and as he continues to be in heaven; so that, at the close of my life, I will hear you beside me repeating: This very day, you will be with me in paradise Amen ORANDO A JESUS COMO MI SALVADOR Jesús crucificado, una de Tus últimas palabras fue para un ladrón. Tú le aseguraste a Dismas su lugar en el Cielo "este mismo día", porque él confesó su culpabilidad rápidamente y su arrepentimiento sincero por sus pecados. Según fue crucificado junto a Ti, la confianza de su amor y arrepentimiento abrió tu corazón con misericordia y perdón aún antes de que la lanza del centurión lo abriera con su punta de hierro. PRAYER TO IRRADIATE JESUS Dear Jesus, help me to spread your fragrance everywhere I go. Flood my soul with your spirit and life. Penetrate and possess my whole being so utterly that all my life may only be a radiance of yours. Shine through me and be so in me that every soul I come in contact with may feel your presence in my soul. Let them look up and see no longer me but only Jesus! Stay with me and then I shall begin to shine as you shine, so to shine as to be a light to others; the light, O Jesus, will be all from you; none of it will be mine: it will be you shining on others through me. Let me thus praise you in the way you love best: by shining on those around me. Let me preach you without preaching, not by words, but by my example, by the catching force, the sympathetic influence of what I do, the evident fullness of the love my heart bears to you. Amen. ORACIÓN PARA IRRADIAR A CRISTO Amado Señor, Ayúdame a esparcir tu fragancia donde quiera que vaya. Inunda mi alma de espíritu y vida. Penetra y posee todo mi ser hasta tal punto que toda mi vida solo sea una emanación de la tuya. Brilla a través de mí, y mora en mí de tal manera que todas las almas que entren en contacto conmigo puedan sentir tu presencia en mi alma. Haz que me miren y ya no me vean a mí sino solamente a ti, oh Señor. Quédate conmigo y entonces comenzaré a brillar como brillas tú; a brillar para servir de luz a los demás a través de mí. MY PRAYER FOR JESUS WHO SUFFER FOR ME Dear Jesus, because you love me, you hug in agony and pain on the cross. And in the middle of your pain, you took the time to respond eagerly and quickly to the thief who was nailed to a cross next to you. You responded to his faith: the faith he showed while he was also in pain and agony. While you hung there, humiliated by the world, he spoke up, recognizing you as the Son of God. He didn t care who heard him, not even his friend, the other thief. You promised him that he would be in paradise with you that very day. Jesus, have pity on all who believe in you, and are in agony or are hurting. Have pity on me I am in agony, and I hurt. Help me to be firm: help my faith to be firm, so that I may obtain the reward of Paradise. Jesus, my God! I believe in you. I hope in you. I love you. I am sorry that my sins hurt you. Have mercy on me, Jesus. Have mercy on me. Amen MI ORACIÓN AL CRISTO QUE SUFRIO POR MI Querido Jesús... Porque tú me amaste, tú colgaste en agonía y con dolor en la cruz. Y en medio de tu dolor, te tomaste el tiempo para responder con afán y rápidamente al buen ladrón que estaba clavado en la cruz a tu lado. Tú respondiste a su fe: la fe que el mostró mientras el también sufría dolor y agonía. Mientras colgaste allí humillado por el mundo, él habló, reconociéndote como el Hijo de Dios. No le importó quién lo oyera, ni siquiera su amigo, el otro ladrón. Tú le prometiste que él estaría en el paraíso contigo ese mismo día. Jesús, ten piedad de mí estoy en agonía y en dolor. Ayúdame a ser firme; ayuda a que mi fe sea firme, para que yo pueda obtener la recompensa del paraíso. Jesús, mi Dios! Yo creo en ti: Mi esperanza está en ti. Te amo. Siento que mis pecados te duelan. Ten misericordia de mí, Jesús. Ten misericordia de mí. Amén. 17

A PRAYER FOR OTHERS Teach me, Jesus, to love all mankind, both friends and enemies. Teach me how to wish them well. Teach me how to be an instrument of your peace. Look at my heart remove from it all Bitterness and hatred. Fill my heart with a great love for you and my neighbors. Bless our spiritual leader, that (she/he) will be a light to those of us who are in darkness. A safe guide on the path that leads to you. Bless our mission (movement) and those who work here. Help them to do their duties according to your Holy Will for the physical and spiritual well-being of all who are members. Bless all my family (brothers and sisters) help us to see and acknowledge the errors we have made in our life and help us to return to our Father s House. Bless us all, Lord, and keep us. Show your face to us, and have mercy on us. Turn your face to us and give us peace! Amen. ORACIÓN POR OTROS Enséñame, Jesús, a amar a todo mi prójimo, tanto los amigos como los enemigos. Enséñame como desearles el bien. Enséñame como ser un instrumento de tu paz. Mira mi corazón... quita de mi corazón amarguras y odios. Llena mi corazón con un gran amor por ti, y por mi prójimo. Bendice nuestro (a) guía espiritual, que él (ella) sea una luz para mí y mis hermanos que estamos necesitados de una guía, de una palabra de aliento, y de un consuelo. Un guía seguro en el camino que lleva hacia ti. Bendice nuestra misión (movimiento) y a los que están encargados de ella, y todos los que trabajan aquí. Ayúdalos a hacer sus tareas de acuerdo con tu Santo Plan. Por el bienestar físico y espiritual de todos los que estamos confinados aquí. Bendice a todos mis compañeros (familiares). Ayúdanos a ver y reconocer los errores que hemos cometido en la vida y ayúdanos a regresar a la casa de nuestro Padre. Bendícenos a todos nosotros, Señor, y guárdanos. HELP ME ACCEPT OTHERS Forgive me, Father, for my unwillingness to share your gift of life with others. My eyesight is so often faulty. I do not see others as you see them. I judge by my own standards and reject those who do not measure up. My hearing is faulty, too. I listen to those who can help me, but do not hear those who need me. Father, you see us all through the eyes of Jesus Christ and accept us for his sake. You hear us and know that we need your forgiveness and mercy. Even so Father, teach me your way of seeing and hearing your people in whatever circumstances I find them. Give me a full measure of understanding and compassion, so that my actions and words will reflect the fatherly love and mercy you have given me. Amen. AYUDAME A ACEPTAR MI PROJIMO Perdóname, Padre, por mi falta de voluntad para compartir tu regalo de la vida con otros. Mi visión es a menudo defectuosa. Yo no veo a otros como tú los ves a ellos. PRAYING FOR MY FAMILY O Dear Father, I humbly implore you to grant your special graces to our family; and may our home be the shrine of peace, purity, love, labor and faith. Heavenly Father, most good and gracious God, sustain our family in your love. Make it a place where holiness and love abound. Help us to learn to be like Jesus in all our actions. Aid our family to imitate the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph. Help us to learn from the good example of others and to give good example to everyone. Assist us in learning to bear our pain and suffering as Jesus did. Aid us in overcoming difficulties and carrying our crosses. Help our family life to lead only to Jesus, the source of true happiness. Please give wholesome habits to our family. We ask this through Christ Our Lord. HELP ME HANG ON Lord of my life, I know that my life is not my own. By your death and resurrection you made me your own. Help me to live under your direction, always ready to hear the call, follow me, always aware of your presence, always knowing that I have received the gift of your spirit, always living so that others my received your love and mercy through me. It is not easy to ask for these things, Lord, because I know I have much to give up. I can no longer pretend that my life is my own. My prayer is my surrender to your care and direction. I want to follow, Lord, but it is very hard. I will get very tired. I will make selfish mistakes. I will fail time and time again. I will fall. Show me again that there is love and forgiveness and mercy in your hand. Use me in spite of my reluctance, doubt and disobedience. PRAYING TO OVERCOME MY BAD HABBITS Dear Lord, I quickly admit that I am very weak and easily fall into sin when temptations come my way. But believe me; I am so very sorry for having hurt you so many times in the past. I really want to avoid and stay away from the things I do or think or say that don t please you. I want to be faithful to you and all Your Commandments for now on. I ve learned some things in my life. I ve learned about the things which can be sinful for me. I am determined to stay away, as much as I can in this place, from things or happenings which have taught me to be sinful. No matter what it costs. I must and will overcome my evil desire and bad habits. But I can do nothing. I will not win, unless you, Lord help me with your grace. Can t you see that I want to do it your way? I REALLY DO! Jesus, lift me up, hold me, make me strong, give me your grace, now! I am convinced that I CAN DO ALL THINGS IF YOU WILL STRENGTHEN ME! Give me strength in this battle. Give me a victory over the world, or the flesh, or the devil. Please, Jesus, quiet the stormy winds and the restless sea, so that my being may be calmed. Pour your graces into my soul, and fill my heart with your love, so that I can enjoy the joy and peace of a good conscience, an untroubled mind. Help me to remember the reward of living with you forever and not any quick, earthly satisfaction. I remember that during your agony on the cross, You chose not to accept the drugged wine the soldier offered to You. Help me also, not to accept what is offered to me, or what my flesh desires, but what your Holy Spirit brings me. Help me to remain faithful to you at all times.
