Adoption of the draft agenda for the plenary session The agenda was adopted. 2. Approval of the minutes of the Fifth Ordinary Plenary Session of the EuroLat Assembly The minutes were approved. 3. Announcements by the Assembly s Co-Presidents, including decisions of the Executive Bureau Ms Gloria Oquelí (Co-President) provided information on the outcome of meetings of the Executive Bureau on 9 November 2012 and 23 January 2013. The move to pay tribute to former President Salvador Allende on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of his death was discussed. 4. Debate on the Estrela (EP) Heli Rojas (Parlandino) report: Prevention of natural disasters in Europe and Latin America Committee on Social Affairs, Human Exchanges, the Environment, Education and Culture The EP co-rapporteur, Edite Estrela (S&D), presented the draft report. Speaker: Hilaria Supa Huamán (Parlandino) Decision: The vote on the draft resolution would take place on the morning of 25 January 2013. 5. Debate on the Sonik (EP) - Escudero (Parlatino) report: Fighting drug trafficking and organised crime Committee on Political Affairs, Security and Human Rights The EP co-rapporteur, Bogusław Sonik (PPE), presented the draft report. Decision: The vote on the draft resolution and the amendments tabled would take place on the morning of 25 January 2013. 6. Mr Alfredo Moreno gave his presentation. 8. Vote on three proposals to amend the Rules of Procedure The proposals to amend the Rules of Procedure were approved unanimously. 9. Vote on the motions for resolutions contained in the reports presented by the three standing committees 9.1 The motion for a resolution tabled by the Committee on Political Affairs, Security and Human Rights, rapporteurs Mr Bogusław Sonik (EP, PPE) and Ms Sonia Escudero (Parlatino), on Fighting drug trafficking and organised crime was approved. 9.2 The motion for a resolution tabled by the Committee on Economic, Financial and Commercial Affairs, rapporteurs Ms Esther Herranz García (EP, PPE) and Mr Lupera Martínez (Parlandino), on Globalisation and the financial crisis was approved. 9.3 The motion for a resolution tabled by the Committee on Social Affairs, Human Exchanges, the Environment, Education and Culture, rapporteurs Ms Edite Estrela (EP, S&D) and Mr Hector Helí Rojas (Parlandino), on Prevention of natural disasters in Europe and Latin America was approved. presentation. Ms Adriana Benjumea (Colombia) presented the results of the exchange of views on the peace process in Colombia. 11. Composition of the Assembly s Executive Bureau: election of one Co-President and of Co-Vice-Presidents by both components of the Assembly, where applicable The President of the Central American Parliament, Mr Leonel Vásquez Búcaro (Parlacen) was elected Co-President of the Assembly, replacing Co-President Ms Gloria Oquelí, by acclamation. Mr Jean-Pierre Audy (EP, PPE) was elected Co-Vice-President of the Assembly, replacing Ms Amalia Sartori, by acclamation. Mr Rabindranath Salazar Solorio (EU-Mexico JPC) was elected Co-Vice- President of the Assembly, replacing Ms Rosario Green Macías, by acclamation. Mr Héctor Heli Rojas (Parlandino) was elected Co-Vice-President of the Assembly, replacing Mr Fausto Lupera Martínez, by acclamation. Mr Fabio Biancalani (Parlasur) was elected Co-Vice-President of the Assembly, replacing Mr Ángel Ramón Barchini, by acclamation. 12.
