Thoroughly read the instructions and familiarize yourself with all the operational aspects of your new product. IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS When using this electric unit, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and injury to persons, including the following: 1. Read ALL instructions before using this unit. 2. CAUTION: Risk of Electric Shock. DO NOT open or try to repair the heater yourself. 3. This heater may get hot when in use. To avoid burns, DO NOT let bare skin touch hot surfaces. If provided, use handle(s) when moving this heater. DO NOT place it against walls, furniture, curtains, etc. 4. Keep combustible materials, such as furniture, pillows, bedding, paper, clothes, and curtains at least 3 ft from the front of the heater and keep them away from the sides, top, and rear. DO NOT place towels or other objects on the heater. 5. DO NOT use the appliance in rooms less than 43 sq. ft. area. 6. Extreme caution is necessary when any heater is used. 7. DO NOT operate any heater with a damaged cord or after the heater malfunctions, has been dropped or damaged in any manner. Return heater to authorized service facility for examination, electrical or mechanical adjustment, or repair. 8. This heater is not intended for use in bathrooms, laundry areas, showers or swimming pools and similar locations. NEVER locate heater where it may fall into a bathtub or other water container. To protect against electrical hazards, DO NOT immerse in water or other liquids. 9. DO NOT touch the control panel or plug with a wet hand. 10. DO NOT run cord under carpeting. DO NOT cover cord with throw rugs, runners, or similar coverings. Arrange cord away from traffic area and where it will not be tripped over. 2

3 11. DO NOT insert or allow foreign objects to enter any ventilation or exhaust opening as this may cause an electric shock or fire, or damage the heater. 12. To prevent a possible fire, DO NOT block the air intakes or exhaust in any manner. DO NOT use on soft surfaces, like a bed, where openings may become blocked. 13. A heater has hot and arcing or sparking parts inside. DO NOT use in areas where gasoline, paint, explosive and/or flammable liquids are used or stored. Keep unit away from heated surfaces and open flames. 14. Always plug heaters directly into a wall outlet/receptacle. Never use with an extension cord or relocatable power tap (outlet/power strip). 15. To avoid fire or shock hazard, plug the unit directly into a 120 V AC electrical outlet. 16. To disconnect heater, turn controls to OFF, then remove plug from outlet. Pull firmly on the plug, DO NOT unplug by pulling on the cord. 17. Always unplug the unit before moving or cleaning, or whenever the heater is not in use. 18. Use only for intended household use as described in this manual. Any other use not recommended by the manufacturer may cause fire, electric shock, or injury to persons. The use of attachments not recommended or sold by unauthorized dealers may cause hazards. 19. Always use on a dry, level surface. Use on floor only. 20. DO NOT use outdoors. 21. WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, DO NOT use this unit with any solid-state speed control device. 22. DO NOT attempt to repair or adjust any electrical or mechanical functions on this unit. Doing so will void your warranty. The inside of the unit contains no user serviceable parts. 23. Once the heater is tipped over, an internal switch will automatically shut the heater off. Once the heater is restored to an upright position, the heater will be back to work. Overheat Safety Feature This heater is equipped with an overheat safety feature. When the heater s internal components reach a certain temperature that could cause overheating and possible fire, the heater will automatically shut off. A thermal overload protector is built in to prevent overheating. When an overheat temperature is reached, the heater will automatically shut off. Operation can resume only when the user resets the unit. To reset the unit, unplug the heater, ensure the power is turned off, and wait 15 to 20 minutes for the unit to cool down. Follow OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS to return heater to operating mode. iwarning It is normal for the power cord to feel warm to the touch; however, a loose fit between the outlet and the plug may cause overheating of the plug. If this occurs, try inserting the plug into a different outlet. Contact a qualified electrician to inspect the original outlet for damage. 4

6 INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE 1. Place the product on a firm, level surface. 2. With the SELECTOR KNOB in the OFF position, plug the unit directly into a 120 V AC electrical outlet. 3. Turn the SELECTOR KNOB to the position to turn the fan ON. 4. Turn THERMOSTAT KNOB clockwise to the highest position. 5. Turn the SELECTOR KNOB to the I position to turn on the Fan and the Heater to Low heat (750 Watts). Turnthe THERMOSTAT KNOB to adjust the temperature as desired. 6. Turn the SELECTOR KNOB to the II position to turn on the fan and the Heater to High heat (1500 Watts). Turn the THERMOSTAT KNOB to adjust the level of set temperature. 7. When the room reaches a comfortable temperature, slowly turn the THERMOSTAT KNOB counter-clockwise until the heating element clicks OFF (the Power Light will not be shut OFF). 8. This is the point at which the Thermostat setting equals the room temperature. At this setting, the Thermostat will automatically turn the heater ON and OFF to maintain the selected temperature. To prevent the unit from cycling, you need to change the thermostat setting. 6

7 MAINTENANCE 1. Before cleaning, be sure to turn OFF and unplug the heater. 2. Carefully wipe the unit with a soft, damp cloth. Please be very cautious near the motor and heating elements. 3. DO NOT immerse the heater in water. 4. Never use gasoline, benzene or thinner. This will damage the surface of the heater. 5. After cleaning, be sure to completely dry the unit with a cloth or towel. icaution DO NOT let liquid enter the heater. DO NOT use alcohol, gasoline, abrasive powders, furniture polish, or rough brushes to clean the heater. This may cause damage or deterioration to the surface of the heater. DO NOT immerse the heater in water. STORAGE Store the heater in a cool, dry location when not in use. To prevent dust and dirt build-up, use the original packaging to repack the unit. 7

8 TROUBLESHOOTING If the heater will not operate, please check the following: 1. Check if the power cord is plugged into an electrical outlset. If not, plug in unit to appropriate outlet. 2. Check if electricity to the outlet is working 3. Make sure heater is placed on a flat, solid surface. 4. See SAFETY FEATURE section for additional information. 5. Turn the THERMOSTAT KNOB clockwise. The heater only works when the set temperature is higher than room temperature. NOTICE The product is equipped with an overheat safety feature protector which will switch off the heater in case of accidental over heating (ex. Obstruction of air intake and outlet grills, motor turning slowly or not at all). NOTICE The product is equipped with tip-over switch inside. When the product tips over abnormally during its use, it can cut of power automatically. 8

9 LIMITED MANUFACTURER WARRANTY 1 Year Limited Warranty: Konwin warrants this heater against defects in materials and workmanship on functional parts, for a period of one year from the original date of purchase. Your sales receipt showing the date of purchase of the product is your proof of purchase. Keep it in a safe place for future reference. Manufacturer Warranty All Konwin products are manufactured with the highest quality materials and are warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship at the time of purchase. This limited warranty applies to products manufactured or distributed by the Konwin brand name, are delivered in the continental United States, and extends to the original purchaser, or gift recipient. This warranty becomes valid at the time of purchase and terminates either by the specified time frame listed above and/or owner transfer (unless otherwise authorized by Konwin, as the manufacturer). Any extended warranties (warranties that cover above and beyond this manufacturer warranty) that are sold through a retailer or third party, are not directly correlated with this Konwin limited warranty, and may be redirected to said retailer or third party for coverage. The purchaser must present Konwin with proof of purchase documents (including the date of purchase) if requested. Any evidence of alteration, erasing, or forgery of proof of purchase documents will be just cause to VOID this limited warranty. Para prevenir un posible incendio, NO bloquee la entrada ni el escape de aire de ninguna manera. NO lo utilice sobre superficies blandas, como una cama, donde las ranuras puedan bloquearse. 13. Un calefactor contiene partes calientes y chispeantes en su interior. NO lo utilice en áreas donde se utilice o almacene gasolina, pintura, explosivos o líquidos inflamables. Mantenga la unidad lejos de las superficies calientes y las llamas abiertas. 14. Siempre conecte los calefactores directamente a un tomacorriente/toma de pared. Nunca lo utilice con un cable de extensión ni una conexión eléctrica movible (unidad de múltiples enchufes/contactos). 15. Cuenta con un protector de sobrecarga térmica incorporado para prevenir el sobrecalentamiento. Cuando se alcanza una temperatura de sobrecalentamiento, el calentador se apaga automáticamente. Se puede reanudar la operación solo cuando el usuario reinicia la unidad. Para reiniciar la unidad, desconecte el calefactor, asegúrese de que la alimentación esté apagada y espere entre 15 y 20 minutos para que la unidad se enfríe. Siga las INSTRUCCIONES DE USO para restablecer el calefactor al modo en funcionamiento. iadvertencia Es normal que el cable de energía se sienta caliente al tocarlo; sin embargo, un ajuste flojo entre el tomacorriente y el enchufe puede causar el sobrecalentamiento del enchufe. 16 INSTRUCCIONES DE USO 1. Coloque el producto sobre una superficie firme y nivelada. 2. Con la PERILLA DE SELECCIÓN en la posición de APAGADO, conecte la unidad directamente al tomacorriente de 120 voltios de corriente alterna (CA). 3. Gire la PERILLA DE SELECCIÓN a la posición para ENCENDER el ventilador. 4. Gire la PERILLA DEL TERMOSTATO en sentido de las agujas del reloj hacia la posición más alta. 5. Gire la PERILLA DE SELECCIÓN a la posición I para encender el Ventilador y ajustar el Calefactor a Baja temperatura (750 vatios). Gire la PERILLA DEL TERMOSTATO para ajustar la temperatura tal como lo desee. 6. Gire la PERILLA DE SELECCIÓN a la posición II para encender el Ventilador y ajustar el Calefactor a Alta temperatura (1500 vatios). Gire la PERILLA DEL TERMOSTATO para ajustar la temperatura establecida. 7. Cuando la habitación alcance una temperatura cómoda, gire lentamente la PERILLA DEL TERMOSTATO en sentido contrario a las agujas del reloj hasta que el elemento calefactor haga clic en OFF (APAGADO) (el Indicador Luminoso de Alimentación no se APAGARÁ). 8. Este es el punto en el que el ajuste del Termostato se iguala a la temperatura ambiente. En este ajuste, el Termostato SE ENCENDERÁ y SE APAGARÁ de forma automática para mantener la temperatura seleccionada. Para evitar que la unidad realice los ciclos, debe cambiar el ajuste del termostato. 1616

17 MANTENIMIENTO 1. Antes de limpiarlo, asegúrese de APAGAR y desenchufar el calefactor. 2. Limpie cuidadosamente la unidad con un trapo suave y húmedo. Tenga mucho cuidado cerca del motor y los elementos de calefacción. 3. NO sumerja el calefactor en agua. 4. Nunca utilice gasolina, benceno o disolvente. Esto dañará la superficie del calefactor. 5. Luego de limpiarlo, asegúrese de secar por completo la unidad con un trapo o una toalla. iprecaución NO permita que ningún líquido entre en el calefactor. NO utilice alcohol, gasolina, polvos abrasivos, cera para muebles ni cepillos ásperos para limpiar el calefactor. Esto podría causar daño o deterioro en la superficie del calefactor. NO sumerja el calefactor en agua. ALMACENAMIENTO Almacene el calefactor en un lugar seco y fresco cuando no se utilice. Para evitar la acumulación de polvo y suciedad, utilice el empaque original para volver a embalar la unidad. 17

18 SOLUCIÓN DE PROBLEMAS Si el calefactor no funciona, intente lo siguiente: 1. Revise si el cable de energía está conectado a un tomacorriente. Si no lo está, conéctelo al tomacorriente correspondiente. 2. Revise si funciona la electricidad del tomacorriente. 3. Asegúrese de que el calefactor se encuentre sobre una superficie sólida y plana. 4. Consulte la sección FUNCIONES DE SEGURIDAD para obtener información adicional. 5. Gire la PERILLA DE TERMOSTATO en sentido de las agujas del reloj. El calefactor solo funciona cuando la temperatura que se configuró es superior a la temperatura ambiente. AVISO El producto está equipado con un protector de seguridad ante sobrecalentamiento que desconectará el calefactor en caso de un sobrecalentamiento accidental (por ejemplo, ante la obstrucción de las rejillas de entrada y salida de aire, el motor girará lentamente o se detendrá). AVISO El producto está equipado con un interruptor contra caídas en el interior. Cuando el producto se vuelca de manera irregular durante su uso, puede apagarse de manera automática. 1818

19 GARANTÍA LIMITADA DEL FABRICANTE Garantía Limitada de 1 Año: Konwin garantiza este calefactor contra defectos en materiales y acabado en partes funcionales, por un período de 1 año desde la fecha de su compra original. Su recibo, que muestra la fecha de compra del producto, es el comprobante de compra. Manténgalo en un lugar seguro para referencias futuras. Garantía del Fabricante Todos los productos de Konwin están fabricados con materiales de la más alta calidad y cuentan con garantía por estar libres de defectos en materiales y acabados al momento de la compra. Esta garantía limitada se aplica a productos fabricados o distribuidos por la marca Konwin, que se entregan en la parte continental de los Estados Unidos y se extiende al comprador original o destinatario.
