All accessories, switches, and especially air bag indicator lights must be plugged in before reconnecting the battery or cycling the ignition. 2 Connections to be made From the 16-pin harness to the aftermarket radio: Connect the Red wire to the ignition/accessory wire. Connect the Orange/White wire to the illumination wire. If the aftermarket radio has no illumination wire just tape off the Orange/White wire. Connect the Blue/White wire to the amp turn on wire. Connect the White wire to the left front positive speaker output. Connect the White/Black wire to the left front negative speaker output. Connect the Gray wire to the right front positive speaker output. Connect the Gray/Black wire to the right front negative speaker output. Connect the Brown wire to the mute wire. If the aftermarket radio does not have a Mute wire, tape up the Brown wire. The following wires are for aftermarket multimedia/navigation radios that provide these wires (if not tape them off and disregard them): Connect the light Green wire to the parking brake wire of the aftermarket navigation radio. Connect the Blue/Pink wire to the VSS or speed sense wire of the aftermarket navigation radio. Connect the Green/Purple wire to the reverse wire of the aftermarket navigation radio. Plug the 16-pin harness into the GMOS-044. From the 18-pin harness to the aftermarket radio: Connect the Black wire with the ring terminal to the radio chassis with ISO screw that is supplied with radio. Note: This wire must be connected as instructed otherwise the interface will not be functional. The Black/Yellow wire and additional 12-pin harness will be discussed later in this manual. Plug the 18-pin harness into the GMOS-044. From the 44-pin harness to the aftermarket radio: Connect the Yellow wire to the 12-volt constant/battery wire of the aftermarket radio. Connect the Black wire to the ground wire. Connect the Green wire to the left rear positive speaker output. 2

3 Connections to be made Connect the Green/Black wire to the left rear negative speaker output. Connect the Purple wire to the right rear positive speaker output of the aftermarket radio. Connect the Purple/Black wire to the right rear negative speaker output of the aftermarket radio. Connect the RCA s to the audio AUX-in of your aftermarket radio (if equipped). The 12-pin harness (ASWC-1 pre-wired plug) will be discussed later in the manual. Note: The relay attached to the GMOS-044 is only for audible turn signal clicks. No extra steps are required to retain this, so leave it as-is. Installing the GMOS With all the connections completed, plug the 44-pin harnesses into the vehicle. 2. Reconnect the negative battery terminal. 3. Cycle the key by turning the ignition on then back off, then back on again to test the radio. Testing the GMOS-044 Turn the ignition on, and then turn the aftermarket radio on. Push the Onstar button, the radio should turn off and you should hear Onstar. Push the Onstar cancel button and the radio should come back on. Note: If the mute wire is not connected, the radio will shut off instead. 3

4 Testing the GMOS-044 Chime Volume Adjustment To adjust the chime volume, use a small screwdriver to rotate the potentiometer, located on the 16-pin harness side of the interface, clockwise to make the chime louder and counterclockwise to make the chime softer. Onstar Level Adjustment To adjust the Onstar volume level find the Black/Yellow wire on the 22-pin harness. Push the blue Onstar button, while the voice is speaking tap the Black/Yellow wire to ground. There are 4 volume settings for Onstar; once the 4th setting is reached and the Black/Yellow wire is tapped to ground it will automatically go back to the first volume setting. Once the volume is set it will stay at that volume until the Black/Yellow wire is tapped to ground again. 12-pin Harness The 12-pin harness that is attached to the GMOS-044 is for use with the ASWC-1 (sold separately). Please refer to the ASWC-1 instructions for programming and operation. Personalization menu Your vehicle must be equipped with OE steering wheel controls in order to access or change the personalization features in your vehicle. For the Chevy Cruze, if your vehicle did not come equipped with OE steering wheel controls, please refer to the No OE Steering Wheel Control Section of this manual. Note: Personalization menu can be set before the factory radio is removed. Time and date cannot be adjusted in vehicles without the factory steering wheel controls. Note: OE Screen can be disconnected in models without factory steering wheel controls. 1. Turn off your aftermarket radio. 2. Press and hold the Off Hook button on the steering wheel for 3-seconds. After 3-seconds the personalization menu will show up on the display. 3. To scroll through the menus, use the Seek Up and Seek Down buttons on the steering wheel. 4. To make a selection, use the Source button on the steering wheel which is the center button between the Seek Up and Seek Down buttons. 5. Use the Off Hook button to exit the personalization menu. 4

5 No OE Steering Wheel Controls Notes If your vehicle did not come equipped with OE steering wheel controls, you can purchase an ASWCSTALK to retain both the clock setting function, and the ability to change the personalization features in your vehicle. Below are the wiring instructions on wiring and using the ASWCSTALK. Note: The ASWCSTALK cannot be used to control the aftermarket radio, i.e., volume, seek, mute, etc. You can only use the ASWCSTALK for controlling the personalization menu. 1. Connect the two Black wires of the ASWCSTALK to 12-volt accessory power. 2. Connect the Green/Orange wire from the ASWCSTALK to the Green/Orange wire on the 18-pin harness of the GMOS Tape up the Green/Black wire from ASWCSTALK, as it has no connection in this application. 4. Turn on ignition and test the ASWCSTALK. The following are the buttons that apply to this application. All other buttons will not be used in this application. ENTER/SELECT EXIT UP DOWN

10 Conexiones que se deben hacer Del arnés de 16 pins al radio de mercado secundario: Conecte el cable rojo con el cable de accesorios/de la marcha. Conecte el cable anaranjado/blanco con el cable de iluminación. Si el radio de mercado secundario no tiene cable de iluminación solo cubra con cinta el alambre anaranjado/blanco. Conecte el cable azul/blanco con el cable de encendido del amplificador Conecte el cable blanco con la salida positiva de la bocina izquierda del frente. Conecte el cable blanco/negro con la salida negativa de la bocina izquierda del frente. Conecte el cable gris con la salida positiva de la bocina derecha del frente. Conecte el cable gris/negro con la salida negativa de la bocina derecha del frente. Conecte el cable marrón con el cable de silencio. Si el radio de mercado secundario no tiene un cable de silencio, encinte el cable marrón. Los siguientes cables son para radios de mercado secundario con multimedios/ navegación que tienen estos cables (si no los tiene, encíntelos e ignórelos): Conecte el cable verde claro con el cable del freno de mano del radio de navegación de mercado secundario. Conecte el cable azul/rosa con el cable VSS o de detección de velocidad del radio de navegación de mercado secundario. Conecte el cable verde/púrpura al cable de reversa del radio con navegación de mercado secundario. Conecte el arnés de 16 pins en el GMOS-044. Del arnés de 18 pins al radio de mercado secundario: Conecte el cable negro con la terminal de aro al chasís del radio usando el tornillo ISO que se incluye con el radio. Nota: Este cable debe conectarse como se indica; de lo contrario, la interfase no funcionará. El cable negro/amarillo y el arnés adicional de 12 pins se explicarán más adelante en este manual. Conecte el arnés de 18 pins en el GMOS-044. Del arnés de 44 pins al radio de mercado secundario: Conecte el cable amarillo al cable de corriente constante de 12 V/batería del radio de mercado secundario. 2

11 Conexiones que se deben hacer Conecte el cable negro con el cable de tierra. Conecte el cable verde con la salida de la bocina positiva izquierda de atrás. Conecte el cable verde/negro con la salida negativa de la bocina izquierda de atrás. Conecte el cable púrpura a la salida positiva de la bocina trasera derecha del radio de mercado secundario. Conecte el cable púrpura/negro con la salida negativa de la bocina trasera derecha del radio de mercado secundario. Conecte los conectores RCA a la entrada AUX de su radio de mercado secundario (si se incluye). El arnés de 12 pins (conector ASWC-1 pre cableado) se explicará más adelante en el manual. Nota: El relé adjunto al GMOS-044 únicamente es para los chasquidos audibles de la señal direccional. No se requieren pasos adicionales para retener esto, así que déjelo como está. Instalación del GMOS Cuando termine todas las conexiones, conecte el arnés de 44 pins al vehículo. 2. Reconecte la terminal negativa de la batería. 3. 12 Testing the GMOS-044 Ajuste del volumen de los tonos Para ajustar el volumen de los tonos, utilice un pequeño destornillador para girar el potenciómetro, localizado en el lado del arnés de 16 pins de la interfaz, hacia la derecha para aumentar el volumen del tono y hacia la izquierda para disminuir el volumen. Ajuste del nivel de Onstar Para ajustar el nivel del volumen de Onstar, busque el cable negro/amarillo en el arnés de 22 pins. Presione el botón azul de Onstar y mientras la voz esté hablando, toque el cable negro/amarillo a tierra. Hay cuatro ajustes de volumen para Onstar; una vez que haya llegado al cuarto ajuste y que el cable negro/amarillo esté conectado a tierra, automáticamente volverá al primer nivel de volumen. Una vez configurado el volumen, permanecerá a ese nivel hasta que el cable amarillo/ negro vuelva a tocarse a tierra. Arnés de 12 pins El arnés de 12 pins que está conectado al arnés GMOS-044 es para utilizarse con el ASWC-1 (se vende por separado). Consulte las instrucciones de ASWC-1 para programarlo y usarlo. Menú de personalización Su vehículo debe estar equipado con controles en el volante a fin de acceder o cambiar las funciones de personalización del vehículo. Para el Chevy Cruze, si su vehículo no venía equipado con controles de equipo original en el volante, consulte la sección Sin controles de equipo original en el volante de este manual. Nota: El menú de personalización puede configurarse antes de retirar el radio de fábrica. La hora y la fecha no se pueden ajustar en vehículos sin los controles en el volante de fábrica. Nota: La pantalla del equipo original se puede desconectar en modelos sin controles en el volante de fábrica. 1. Apague su radio de mercado secundario. 2. Presione y mantenga presionado el botón de Descolgado del volante durante 3 segundos. Después de tres segundos aparecerá el menú de personalización en la pantalla. 3. Para desplazarse por los menús, use los botones de Búsqueda ascendente y descendente en el volante. 4. Para hacer una selección, utilice el botón Fuente, que es el botón central entre los botones de Búsqueda ascendente y descendente. 5. Utilice el botón de Descolgado para salir del menú de personalización. 4

13 Sin controles de equipo original en el volante Notas Si su vehículo no venía equipado con controles de equipo original en el volante, puede comprar un ASWCSTALK para retener tanto la función de programación del reloj como la capacidad de cambiar las funciones de personalización de su vehículo. A continuación se presentan las instrucciones de cableado para conectar y usar el ASWCSTALK. Nota: El ASWCSTALK no puede usarse para controlar el radio de mercado secundario, es decir, volumen, búsqueda, silencio, etc. Únicamente se puede usar el ASWCSTALK para controlar el menú de personalización. 1. Conecte los dos cables negros del ASWCSTALK a la fuente de corriente de 12 voltios para accesorios. 2. Conecte el cable verde/anaranjado del ASWCSTALK al cable verde/anaranjado del arnés de 18 pins del GMOS Encinte el cable verde/negro del ASWCSTALK, ya que no tiene conexión en esta aplicación. 4. Encienda la ignición y pruebe el ASWCSTALK. A continuación se presentan los botones que aplican a esta aplicación. Ninguno de los demás botones se usará en esta aplicación.
