We are the merged faith community of St. Martin of Tours, founded in 1906, and Our Lady of Lourdes, found in 1872, both located in Bushwick, Brooklyn. We are rooted in God s word and the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church; we value and celebrate our diversity, faith, hope and love in the Lord Jesus. It is our belief that the Holy Spirit guides us through the different moments of our parish life, and that the Blessed Mother of God assists us in this journey of faith. We are committed to help each other strengthen our faith, communion and participation through God s Word, Holy Eucharist and Evangelization. It is also a continuous Christian spirituality that lives with great hope of victory divine providence in the creation and care of creating a more just and compassionate world. Live in expectation of the kingdom of God urges us to live by the will of God. During times of happiness we remember that this still is not the Kingdom, and during hard times strengthen us with hope. "Thy kingdom "is a daily prayer of Advent.As Christians we must live so that we are both signs of "the life of the world" and address the issues of this present age so that we help the flowering of authentic humanity. Primer Domingo de Adviento La lectura de hoy nos presenta tres ideas importantes: El Adviento no es solamente un tiempo litúrgico de introspección en anticipación de la celebración de la Navidad del Señor Jesús, con lo importante que es eso. Es también una espiritualidad cristiana continua que vive con esperanza de la gran victoria de la divina providencia en la creación y que se preocupa de crear un mundo más justo y compasivo. Vivir en expectativa del reino de Dios nos urge a vivir haciendo la voluntad de Dios. Durante los tiempos de felicidad nos recuerda de que este todavía no es el Reino, y durante los tiempos difíciles nos fortalece con la esperanza. Venga a nosotros Tu reino es una oración de Adviento diaria. Como cristianos hemos de vivir de tal manera que somos ambos señales de la vida del mundo futuro y atender a las cuestiones de esta presente edad de tal manera de que ayudamos al florecimiento de la auténtica humanidad.
