The work will include a new interior staircase so that we can reach the bell tower safely. The entire interior and exterior of the tower will be totally restored. We expect this work to last until the end of November. Following this, we will begin the roof replacement of the church and total restoration of the exterior of the church. During this important work please PRAY for the success of our efforts and the safety of the workers. El andamio ha llegado y pronto comenzará el trabajo necesario en la torre de la iglesia. 5 SIGN UP FOR ADULT SACRAMENTS SACRAMENTOS PARA ADULTOS We welcome adults 18 and over who are in need of receiving their sacraments of initiation (Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation) to our parish! The process is called Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA). It s a weekly preparation program that will assist you in your faith formation and prepare you for the sacraments to be received at the Easter Vigil. There are some requirements necessary before entering this program. We will offer two information sessions which will answer all your questions! The sessions will take place Sunday, September 18 after the 10 a.m. Mass (English) and after the 11:30 a.m. Mass (Spanish) in the FAITH FORMATION CENTER (87 34 WHITNEY AVENUE) For more information, contact Sr Lucy or Peter Stieglmayr at x5. Invitamos a los adultos de 18 años o más quienes están necesitando recibir los sacramentos de iniciación (Bautizo, Eucaristía y Confirmación) en nuestra parroquia! El proceso se llama Rito de Iniciación Cristiana para Adultos (RICA). Es un programa semanal que los prepara en la formación en la fe y los prepara para los sacramentos que se recibían en la Vigilia Pascual. Hay algunos requisitos necesarios antes de participar en este programa. Estaremos ofreciendo dos sesiones informativas durante las cuales le contestamos todas sus preguntas! It s very important that every minister attend this important gathering. Following the meeting we will have refreshments in the rectory garden. 6 BACK TO SCHOOL BLESSINGS While most children aren t so happy to return to school.all of us adults are! THIS SUNDAY we will offer a back to school blessing to all of our young people and teachers. The blessings will take place after all the masses. Let s pray for a safe and productive year for all our young people and their teachers. WELCOME BACK FR LUCAS After being away in Colombia for a few months Father Lucas Moreno will now return to assist us. Fr Lucas will also take a chance at celebrating weekday mass in English.
