1 9na COMPETENCIA DE CORTOMETRAJES CORTO GLOBAL Términos y Condiciones APERTURA: 1 DE AGOSTO DE 2017 CIERRE: 1 DE NOVIEMBRE DE 2017 Perfil Concurso Corto GLOBAL El Festival de Cine Global Dominicano se plantea entre sus objetivos principales constituirse en un foro internacional para la difusión del cine apostando a la calidad, los nuevos talentos y cinematografías emergentes. A partir de su séptima edición amplió el alcance de su concurso de cortometrajes a nivel internacional, dando espacio además a las producciones locales que tradicionalmente han sido el elemento principal de sus anteriores convocatorias. Corto Global es una sección destinada a nuevos valores estudiantiles, amateurs o profesionales que incursionen en trabajos audiovisuales de corta duración, principalmente en los géneros ficción, documental, experimental y animación.

2 BASES Para participar en el Competencia de Cortometrajes Corto Global es imprescindible conocer y cumplir con los siguientes requerimientos: El certamen está abierto a nuevos valores estudiantiles, amateurs o profesionales que incursionen en trabajos audiovisuales de corta duración. Se podrán presentar trabajos de cualquier nacionalidad y de realizadores procedentes de cualquier parte del mundo. El número de cortometrajes que los participantes pueden presentar es ilimitado. El idioma oficial del certamen es el español. Los trabajos realizados en otro idioma deberán tener subtítulos en español por obligatoriedad y opcionalmente subtítulos en ingles. La duración no debe exceder los 15 minutos, incluyendo créditos. Se podrán presentar trabajos en las siguientes categorías: ficción, documental, experimental y animación. Participan obras presentadas en formato digital exclusivamente, con independencia del formato en que hayan sido realizadas. Los trabajos a concurso deben haber sido realizados con posterioridad al 1 de agosto de Los filmes deben ser inéditos y no haber participado en ningún otro festival o evento realizado en la República Dominicana con anterioridad a la fecha de selección para su presentación en el FCGD. En caso de que se demuestre que algún trabajo haya participado en otro evento será invalidado a concurso. Los directores deben estar dentro del rango de edad de años. La fecha límite de envío de los cortometrajes será el 1 de noviembre de 2017 a las 5pm, hora local de República Dominicana. Un comité de selección, designado por el FCGD, será el encargado de escoger los 11 finalistas. Los finalistas se darán a conocer el 1 de diciembre de 2017 a través de nuestra pagina web. Los cortometrajes seleccionados serán proyectados públicamente durante el Festival, acorde a calendario determinado por la organización del evento. Un jurado compuesto por profesionales del cine nacional e internacional, tendrá a su cargo la selección de las obras ganadoras. Como reconocimientos, los ganadores obtendrán estatuillas y premios en metálico. Los participantes ceden expresamente a la organización los derechos de comunicación pública del cortometraje o fragmentos del mismo a través de cualquier medio y en cualquier formato. El ejercicio de estos derechos será, exclusivamente, con fines promocionales del festival, y en ningún caso existirá ánimo de lucro.

3 Los propietarios de los derechos de los cortometrajes ganadores cederán sus derechos de reproducción para la edición de un DVD con carácter exclusivamente participativo en algunos festivales y promocional. Los participantes manifiestan haber cubierto el pago de las cuotas correspondientes de derecho de autor del guión, imágenes, música y/o cualquier material audiovisual no original sujeto a propiedad intelectual contenido en la obra. El FCGD no asume responsabilidad por el incumplimiento en todo lo relacionado a derecho de autor por parte de los concursantes. Los representantes de los cortos que hayan sido premiados, se comprometen a mencionar dicho premio en toda publicidad y material de prensa, utilizando el logotipo del Festival de Cine Global Dominicano. Los cortos participantes pasarán a formar parte del acervo audiovisual del Instituto Global de Multimedia (IGM) de la Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo. Participar en este certamen implica la total aceptación de las bases del concurso. PREMIOS La premiación tendrá lugar la noche de clausura del FCGD. Como reconocimientos los ganadores obtendrán estatuillas y premios en metálico. 4 9th SHORT FILM COMPETITION CORTO GLOBAL Shorts Submission Terms and Conditions REGISTRATION START DATE: 1 AUGUST, 2017 SUBMISSION DEADLINE: 1 NOVEMBER, 2017 Profile Short Film Competition Corto Global The Dominican Republic Global Film Festival is among its main objectives to become an international forum for the dissemination of cinema betting on quality, new talent and emerging cinematography. From its seventh edition, it extended the scope of its competition of short films at international level, giving space also to the local productions that traditionally have been the main element of its previous calls. Corto Global is a section dedicated to new student, amateur or professional values that are involved in audiovisual works of short duration, mainly in the genres of fiction, documentary, experimental and animation.

5 TERMS AND CONDITIONS To participate in the Corto Global Short Film Competition, it is essential to know and comply with the following requirements: The competition is open to new students, amateur or professional that are involved in audiovisual works of short duration. Short Films of any nationality and filmmakers from any part of the world can be presented. The number of short films that the participants can present is unlimited. The official language of the competition is Spanish. The short films in another language must have subtitles in Spanish for compulsory and optional subtitles in English. The duration should not exceed 15 minutes, including credits. Short films may be presented in the following categories: fiction, documentary, experimental and animation. Short films submitted in digital format exclusively, regardless of the format in which they were made. Short films must have been made after August 1, The films must be unpublished and have not participated in any other festival or event held in the Dominican Republic prior to the date of selection for presentation in the FCGD. In other case the films will be invalidated to competition The directors must be within the age range of years. The deadline for submission of short films will be November 1, 2017 at 5pm local time in the Dominican Republic. A selection committee, designated by the FCGD, will be in charge of choosing the 11 finalists. The finalists will be announced on December 1, 2017 through our website. The selected short films will be publicly screened during the Festival, according to the schedule determined by the organization of the event. A jury composed of national and international film professionals will be responsible for the selection of winning films. The winners will receive statuettes and cash prizes. Participants expressly give the organization the rights of public communication of the short film or fragments of it by any means and in any format. These rights will be exclusively for promotional purposes of the festival, and in no case will be for profit. The owners of the winning short films give to the FCGD the rights of reproduction for the edition of a DVD with exclusively participative character in some festivals and promotional.

6 Participants state that they have paid the corresponding copyright fees for the script, images, music and / or any non-original audiovisual material subject to intellectual property contained in the short film. The FCGD does not assume responsibility for the non-compliance in all matters related to copyright by the contestants. The representatives of the short films that have been awarded, commit themselves to mention this prize in all advertising and press material, using the logo of the Dominican Republic Global Film Festival. The short participants will become part of the audiovisual collection of the Global Media Arts Institute (IGM), an initiative of the Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE). Participating in this competition implies the total acceptance of the competition rules. AWARDS The awards ceremony will take place on the FCGD s closing night. As recognition, the winners will get statuettes and cash prizes.
