I. OPERATING TEST a).- The Vacuum Cleaner can work from 105 to 135 V. b ).- At 120 V. with the intake open the current is 6 to 7 amp. with the intake closed the.current drops to aprox. 5 A. c).- There should be no abnormal noice on vibration. d).- The carbon brushes spar~ should be small and uniform. e).- The commutator film shall be dark brown and uniform. 1) TO REPLACE MOTOR (17) II. REPLACEMENT PROCEDURES 1.1.- Remove the cover (30) and laid the vacuum cleaner over the right side on a protected surface. 1.2.- Remove the five screws (1) and the (7) 1.3.- Pull out the left side (2) the front wheel support (19) and the line cord retainer (26). 1.4.- Disconnect the motor lead from the switch (3) and the line cord (23) removing the wirenut (16). 1.5.- Remove the complete motor with the rear and front support (18) 1.6.- Replace the motor by the gasket (18) NOTE: On the models with cord reel unweid the motor leads from the cord reel terminals. 2) TO REPLACE; THE UNE CORO REEL (14) 2.1.- Follow steps 1.1, 1.2 and 1.3 2.2.- Unweld the motor leads from the cord reel terminals. 2.3.- Remove the cord reel, push the snap hook on the enclosure side and remove the line cord guide (22) 3) TO REPLACE THE UNE CORO (23) 3.1.- Follow steps 1.1, 1.2 and 1.3 3.2.- Disconnect the cord leads from motor and switch and remove. 3.3.- Replace the new line cord and reassemble as initially placed. NOTE: Do not try to repair the cord reel and the motor, if defective replace with a new. III. TROUBLE SHOOTING CHART / FALLAS Y CORRECCIONES PROBLEM POSIBLE CAUSE SOLUTION 1.- Not firmly pluged in. 1.- Check attachment plug. 2.- Bad on-off switch. 2.- Replace switch. A) Motor does not run 3.- Line cord open. 3.- Replace cord. B) Motor runs but cleaner does not pick-up C) Motor runs herratically 4.- Motor open. 4.- Check motor and wiring. 5.- Bad contact on cord reel ring. 5.- Check cord reel contacts. 1.- Paper bag full. 1.- Replace paper bag. 2.- Hose or wand c1ossed. 2.- Clean obstruction. 3.- Motor slow. 3.- Check carbon brushes. 4.- Motor gasket not sealing at front. 4.- Check motor position inside enclosure. 1.- Worn carbon brushes. 1.- Replace carbon brushes. 2.- Defective armature. 2.- Replace motor. I. FUNCIONAMIENTO a).- La Aspiradora no es sensible a variaciones de voltaje puede trabajar desde 105 hasta 135 volts. b).- Con un voltaje de 120 V. la corriente debe ser de 6 a 7 ampo aproximadamente. c).- Con la entrada totalmente cerrada la corriente debe bajar a 5 A. aproximadamente. d).- El motor debe trabajar sin vibración. e).- Los carbones deben producir una chispa fina y uniforme y una franja color café del ancho de las escobillas en el conmutador. 1) REEMPLAZO DEL MOTOR (17) II. REEMPLAZO DE PARTES 1.1.- Retire la cubierta (30) coloque la aspiradora sobre el costado derecho (31) en una superficie plana protegida para no dañar el gabinete.. 1.2.- Quite los cinco tornillos (7) así como el tornillo (1). 1.3.- Quite el gabinete izquierdo (2) así como el soporte rueda (19) ensamblado con la rueda (20) así como también el retén cable de línea (26). 1.4.- Desconecte el cable del motor conectado al switch balancín (3) así como el conectar (16). 1.5.- Quite el motor (17) el cuál se encuentra ensamblado con el soporte motor (18). 1.6.- Reemplace el motor invirtiendo la secuencia de desensamble. NOTA: En los modelos con carrete retráctil desolde la punta del motor que se encuentra soldada en el puente del ensamble carrete retráctil. 2) REEMPLAZO DEL ENSAMBLE CARRETE RETRACTIL (14) 2.1.- Siga los pasos indicados en los puntos 1.1, 1.2 Y 1.3 2.2.- Saque un poco el motor y desolde las dos puntas soldadas al puente del ensamble carrete retráctil. 2.3.- Quite la guía del cable (22) y reemplace el nuevo ensamble carrete retráctil invirtiendo la secuencia de desensamble. 3) REEMPLAZO DEL CABLE DE LINEA (23) 3.1.- Siga los pasos indicados en los puntos 1.1, 1.2 Y 1.3 3.2.- Desconecte las puntas del cable de línea conectadas al motor y al switch balancín. 3.3.- Reemplace el nuevo cable de línea invirtiendo la secuencia de desensamble colocando el cable como estaba inicialmente en la cabidad del gabinete. NOTA: No trate de reparar el motor y el ensamble carrete retráctil, reemplácelos por uno nuevo. 7/8 Elaborado: Julio / 2001
