After a good 215, the comparison base for 216 is high. However, the construction industry dynamism boosted sales above our forecasts. We now expect an 11.5% sales growth for 216 and a 6.1% increase for EBITDA. Assumptions of lower financial expenses and lower foreign exchange losses boosts our net income forecast to 46% growth. Risks include economic, competition, execution and low marketability. The risk of a successful merger with Céramicas San Lorenzo should be considered. Lamosa is a Monterrey-based building product conglomerate. It derives most of its revenue and EBITDA from its ceramic tile business. Through its nine plants and 13 million square meters of capacity, LAMOSA is the leading ceramic tile producer in the country with the biggest market share. Another big part of the revenues is the adhesives business, the leading domestic manufacturer of adhesives for ceramics applications.
Quarterly Report 2Q16 Current Price MXN 36.4 216 Target Price MXN 4. The sales of the ceramic division increased +24% y/y in 2Q16, to 2,15 mp, representing 71% of the total. The Adhesives division in the other hand surged 15% y/y, reaching 827 mp weighting 29% of the total. COGS increased 14% to 1,696 mp, while general expenditures increased 18% to 721mp, proportionally less than the increase in sales, increasing the operating margin. Operating income grew 63% y/y, to 63mp, and the operating margin expanded to 2% from 15%, and higher than our original yearly estimate of 16.6%. It must be noted that due to the disincorporation of the sanitary ware business by the end of last year, the results exclude the operations of such business, which are considered now as discontinued operations. Strong EBITDA EBITDA jumped +47% to 737mp in 2Q16 and the EBITDA margin expanded to 25% from 2%. Comprehensive financial result and foreign exchange depreciation The comprehensive financing result totaled 31 mp, rising 144% in 2Q16 vs the 123 mp in 2Q15. In addition, LAMOSA registered an FX loss in the 1H16 of 27 mp due to the MXN/USD 1% depreciation, a higher loss than the 115 mp registered in 1H15. Net profit LAMOSA posted a 226 mp net profit in 2Q16, a 3% growth vs 2Q16. Bottom line growth was low compared to the operating lines, mainly due to FX losses. Net margin dropped to 8% vs 9% in 2Q16. Debt The consolidated debt closed at 5,11 mp, a 1% increase vs y-e 215. However, supported by a strong operating performance, net debt to EBITDA ratio lowered to 1.9x, from 2.1x ratio recorded at the end of 215. The debt mix is 4% in pesos and 6% in US dollars. CAPEX Strong cash flow generation allowed management to invest 879 in 1H16, much more than the 163 mp invested in 1H15. Such investments are destined to the maintenance and expansion of the productive capacity; but also they are meant to increase projects related to information technology.
Quarterly Report 2Q16 Current Price MXN 36.4 216 Target Price MXN 4. Thursday, August 4, 216 216 Outlook We adjusted 216 numbers as the 1H16 results exceeded our original forecasts. Relevant Event (July 19 th 216) LAMOSA meets the expectations concerning inorganic growth: it will acquire assets in South America, increasing 4% its installed capacity. Its healthy capital structure will allow it to find financing. We consider the acquisition of Cerámica San Lorenzo to be positive, due to income diversification, greater presence in the South American market, and an increase of 4% in the installed capacity. Lamosa seeks to be a leader in other markets and we believe it has the potential to do so, due to the following reasons: 1) the leverage of the company has declined and 2) the CEO and current CFO are the same persons who participated in the acquisition of Porcelanite in 27, an important strategy that doubled the size of Lamosa. Healthy ratios. The company has healthy leverage levels (2.x net debt to EBITDA in 1Q16), and preliminary, we think that such ratio would increase near ~ 4.x, well below the levels of 7.x reached with the acquisition of Porcelanite in 27. 216 outlook. The following is a fragment from our 1Q16 report: " we believe that the management is still pondering growth opportunities outside of Mexico." We will review our forecasts of the company with a proper acquisition analysis. Grupo Lamosa S.A.B. de C.V. signed a contract for the purchase of Cerámica San Lorenzo in South America to the Belgian Etex Group, this involves the acquisition of six subsidiaries with operations in Chile, Colombia, Peru and Argentina. The transaction amounted 23 million dollars (md), the equivalent to 4.21 billion pesos (bp), for the Enterprise Value of the company, that is, the market capitalization minus the net debt. Due to the favorable leverage conditions of Lamosa, the company plans to make the acquisition with debt. At the end of 1Q16, the company had 28 mp in cash, short-term debt of 627.1 mp and long-term debt of 4,454.8 mp, meaning that net debt stood at 4.8 bp. Moreover, the EBITDA of the last 12 months totaled 2.33 bp, placing the Net Debt/EBITDA ratio at 2.x. If we add the approximate value of the acquisition (~ 4.21 bp) to the net debt, the ratio Net Debt/EBITDA at the end of 1Q16 would increase to ~ 3.9x, much lower than the levels of 7.x that the company reached in 27, during the acquisition of Porcelanite; therefore, the management has shown that it is capable of handling high leverage levels. This acquisition will increase the p y market share in South America, and it will provide greater income diversification, but also, it would increase the installed capacity in 4%, that is, 52 million square meters more per year.
