If hitch is removed, plug all holes in trunk pan or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes. A hitch or ball which has been damaged should be removed and replaced. 2 Hitch Shown In Proper Position LOWER FASCIA Installation Instructions Audi Q SLOT FOR SNAP-IN TAB Do Not Exceed Lower of Towing Vehicle Manufacturer s Rating or Hitch type Max Gross Trailer WT (LB) Part Numbers: 4464 Max Tongue WT (LB) Weight Distributing N/A N/A Weight Carrying Ball Mount 400 (2043 Kg) 40 (204 Kg) LOWER FASCIA ATTACHMENT GROOVE ATTACHMENT SCREW 1. Raise vehicle on hoist or ramps. Use appropriate safety precautions. 2. Remove lower fascia by removing two screws to the trunk and a screw in each wheel well with a T-20 Torx bit. There is a snapin tab next to the wheel well screw. Gentle remove tab from slot. The lower fascia is snapped into a continuous groove as shown. With gentle outward force remove it from the groove. 3. Using the provided fishwire, install the forward bolt and block (item 1 and 2) into the cross member as shown in figure 1. Install the forward bracket part loose with item 3 and 4. Tip: there is a little l more room on the driver s side between the trunk, sway bar, and exhaust to slide the bracket in. 4. Apply the clear galvanic isolators to the bottom surface of the horizontal mounting tab where the existing aluminum exhaust hanger will be mounted.. With a 13 mm socket, loosen the (4) 3mm long M8 exhaust hanger bolts enough to slide the hitch horizontal mounting bracket between the vehicle and the aluminum exhaust hanger. At the same time, slide the attachment bar into the forward bracket as shown in figure 3. The side brackets may push the rubber exhaust isolator out a little. Finger tighten the M8 bolts to align the horizontal U-bolt holes. 6. Install the /16 U-bolts (item ) as shown in figure 2. Be careful not to let the U-bolt drop into the frame. Slide the 3/8 block (item 6) onto the U-bolts and hand tighten the washer and nuts. 7. Install the handle nuts, washers, and bolts to attach the forward bracket to the hitch h (item 9, 3, and 10). 8. Tighten the U-bolts first, then the M8 exhaust hanger bolts, Followed by the two attachment bar bolts and finally the forward bolt on the cross member. 9. Reinstall lower fascia. Tighten all /16 fasteners with torque wrench to 17 Lb.-Ft. (23 n*m) Tighten all M8 fasteners with torque wrench to 20 Lb.-Ft. (27 n*m) Tighten 1/2 handle nut fasteners with torque wrench to 0 Lb.-Ft. (68 n*m) Tighten remaining 1/2 fastener with torque wrench to 7 Lb.-Ft. (102 n*m) Note: check hitch frequently, making sure all fasteners and ball are properly tightened. If hitch is removed, plug all holes in trunk pan or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes. A hitch or ball which has been damaged should be removed and replaced. Soulever le véhicule sur rampes ou par un treuil. Appliquer les mesures de sécurité appropriées. 2. Enlever le carénage inférieur en ôtant deux vis du coffre et une vis dans chaque passage de roue à l'aide d'un embout T-20 Torx. Une patte à enclenchement se trouve à proximité de la vis du passage de roue. Retirer délicatement la patte de la fente. Le carénage inférieur est enclenché dans une rainure continue, comme illustré. En tirant délicatement vers l'extérieur, retirer le carénage de la rainure. 3. À l'aide du fil de tirage fourni, poser le boulon avant et son bloc (art. 1 et 2) dans la traverse, comme illustré àla figure 1. Poser lâchement le support avant avec les articles 3 et 4. Conseil : L'accès pour insérer le support est plus généreux côté conducteur, entre le coffre, la barre stabilisatrice et l'échappement. 4. Appliquer les isolateurs cathodiques transparents sur la surface inférieure de la patte de montage horizontale, là où le support d'échappement en aluminium existant sera monté.. À l'aide d'une douille 13 mm, desserrer quatre (4) boulons M8 3 mm pour support d'échappement, suffisamment pour glisser le support d'attelage horizontal entre le véhicule et le support d'échappement en aluminium. En même temps, glisser la barre de fixation dans le support avant, comme illustré àla figure 3. Il se peut que les supports latéraux poussent sur l'isolateur d'échappement en caoutchouc quelque peu. Serrer les boulons M8 à la main pour aligner les trous de boulons en U horizontaux. 6. Poser les boulons en "U" /16 po (art. ) comme illustré àla figure 2. Veiller à ne pas faire tomber les boulons en U dans le cadre. Enfiler le bloc 3/8 po (art. 6) sur les boulons en U et serrer les rondelles et écrous à la main. 7. Poser les écrous à levier, les rondelles et les boulons pour fixer le support avant à l'attelage (arts 9, 3 et 10). 8. Serrer dans l'ordre suivant : boulons en U, boulons de support d'échappement M8, deux boulons de la barre de fixation, boulon avant sur la traverse. 9. Réinstaller le carénage inférieur. Serrer toutes les fixations /16 po au couple de 17 lb-pi (23 n*m). Serrer toutes les fixations M8 au couple de 20 lb-pi (27 n*m). Serrer les écrous à levier 1/2 po au couple de 0 lb-pi (68 n*m). Serrer toutes les fixations 1/2 po restantes au couple de 7 lb-pi (102 n*m) m). Remarque : Vérifier l attelage fréquemment, en s assurant que toute la visserie et la boule sont serrées adéquatement. Si l attelage est enlevé, boucher tous les trous percés dans le coffre ou la carrosserie afin de prévenir l infiltration d eau ou de gaz d échappement. Si se quita el enganche tape todos los orificios en el colector del baúl u otros paneles de la carrocería para evitar la entrada del agua y los gases del escape. Se debe retirar y reemplazar un enganche o bola que se haya dañado. Observe las precauciones de seguridad al trabajar por debajo del vehículo y use protección visual. No corte los orificios de acceso o accesorios con soplete. Levante el vehículo sobre las rampas o montacarga. Tome las medidas de seguridad apropiadas. 2. Retire la placa protectora inferior retirando dos tornillos hacia el baúl y un tornillo en cada receptáculo de rueda con una broca T- 20 Torx. Hay una lengüeta a presión al lado del tornillo del receptáculo de la rueda. Suavemente retire la lengüeta de la ranura. La placa protectora inferior está encajada en una ranura continua como se muestra. Con una fuerza moderada hacia afuera retírela de la ranura. 3. Usando el cable de halar provisto, instale el perno delantero y el bloque (piezas 1 y 2) dentro del travesaño como se muestra en la figura 1. Instale la parte del soporte delantero sin apretar con las piezas 3 y 4. Sugerencia: hay un poco más de espacio en el lado del conductor entre el baúl, barra de oscilación y escape para deslizar el soporte. 4. Aplique los aislantes galvánicos transparentes a la superficie inferior de la lengüeta de montaje horizontal donde se instalará el gancho de escape de aluminio existente.. Con una llave de 13 mm, afloje los (4) pernos MB del gancho del escape de 3mm de largo lo suficiente para deslizar el soporte de montaje horizontal del enganche entre el vehículo y el gancho del escape de aluminio. Al mismo tiempo, deslice la barra de unión dentro del soporte delantero como se muestra en la figura 3. Los soportes laterales pueden empujar el aislante del escape de goma hacia afuera un poco. Apriete a mano los pernos M8 para alinear los orificios horizontales del perno en U. 6. Instale los pernos en U de 116 (pieza ), como se muestra en la Figura 2. Tenga cuidado de no dejar que el perno en U caiga dentro del bastidor. Deslice el bloque de 3/8 (pieza 6) sobre los pernos en U y apriete a mano la arandela y tuercas. 7. Instale las tuercas de manija, arandelas y pernos para unir el soporte delantero al enganche (piezas 9, 3 y 10). 8. Apriete los pernos en U primero, luego los pernos M8 del gancho del escape, seguido de los dos pernos de la barra de unión y finalmente el perno delantero en el travesaño. 9. Vuelva a instalar la placa protectora inferior. Apriete todos los tornillos /16" con una llave de torsión a 17 Lb.-pies (23 n*m) Apriete todos los tornillos M8 con una llave de torsión a 20 Lb.-pies. (27 n*m) Apriete todos los tornillos de tuerca de manija de 1/2" con una llave de torsión a 0 Lb.-pies. (68 n*m) Apriete todos los tornillos restantes de 1/2" con una llave de torsión a 7 Lb.-pies (102 n*m) Nota: Revise el enganche con frecuencia, verificando que todos los tornillos y la bola estén correctamente apretados. Si se quita el enganche tape todos los orificios en el colector del baúl u otros paneles de la carrocería para evitar la entrada del agua y los gases del escape. Se debe retirar y reemplazar un enganche o bola que se haya dañado. Observe las precauciones de seguridad al trabajar por debajo del vehículo y use protección visual. No corte los orificios de acceso o accesorios con soplete.
