1 Proposed Change: Eliminate the entire line. 5A DC-Dulles Line Reason for the Change: The Silver Line, Fairfax Connector 981, and the Washington Flyer have reduced the need for the 5A direct bus service between Washington and Dulles. Not as many people ride the 5A since the Silver Line opened. Alternative Transportation Options: The Silver Line connects L Enfant Plaza and Rosslyn to Wiehle- Reston East Metrorail Station. From there, passengers can take Fairfax Connector 981 to Dulles, or Fairfax Connector 551 to Herndon-Monroe Park & Ride. The Washington Flyer also provides service between Wiehle-Reston East Metrorail Station and Dulles Airport. 11 34 Pennsylvania Ave Line Proposed Change: Eliminate route 34 on evenings and weekends. Reason for the Change: Most people ride the 32 or 36 bus line instead of the 34 bus line. There are other bus lines that provide service along the route. In 2014, we made improvements on routes 30N, 30S, 32 and 36, reducing the need for 34 service. Alternative Transportation Options: Alternate service on routes 32, 36, 30N, 30S. 34 Pennsylvania Ave Line Cambio propuesto: Eliminar el itinerario 34 de noche y los fines de semana. 15 54 14 th Street Line Proposed Change: Shorten the route by eliminating the section between McPherson Square and L'Enfant Plaza. Increase how often buses arrive between Takoma and McPherson Square. Reason for the Change: There are too few riders south of McPherson Square but too many riders between Takoma Station and McPherson Square for the number of buses on the route. To improve the time between buses between 14th and Colorado and Takoma Station. Alternative Transportation Options: Route 52 connects 14 th Street and L Enfant Plaza.
